I have just taken delivery of my new Vitus E-Sommet 297 VRS, and this is a quick bike check and intro to the new machine.
The range of Vitus E-MTBs are insane value for money, featuring a solid spec and off road performance right out of the box.
I love to use my E-Bike as a winter MTB fitness tool, and way to improve my skills, so I can ride my enduro bike faster. Obviously I enjoy riding it in it's own right as well, and I love smashing laps of my local singletrack!

Nice vid. Interesting to hear u talking about sizing down. Was thinking the same as the stability is inherent with the weight. Currently looking at the same bike as its on sale for 3.5k

Yeah I am really happy that I sized down. My previous one of these was a Large, and whilst it was good, I am enjoying the shorter, medium a bit more on my local trails. Still on sale! Mad value for money.... tidd.ly/41jo5UY

thanks for the review, I'm riding the analog sommet frame this year and really curious about this e-bike version. Does the battery cover still require an allen key to remove a few bolts? I really wish that was a quicker process..

Yes it does need an allen key to remove the cover. I guess it depends on where you charge it. I never take the battery out as I charge the bike with the battery in place.

Just bought the Vitus escarpe 290 VR as my first proper full suspension E mountain bike for £1800 off wiggle 👍 noticed a kickstand on your frame , are there mounting brackets on these bikes ?

No kickstand mate - just a stick holding the bike up for the photo! Enjoy the bike. Ben

Yes, but apparently Shimano supplied the wrong unit to a whole batch of these so I couldn't. Vitus should be sending a replacement unit soon I understand. You having the same issue?
