There’s chopped tops, flaked roofs, and miles of pinstriping, so take a look through this massive video to see what you’re missing! www.hotrod.com/articles/250-p... #vivalasvegas #carshow #hotrod
Excellent video .I used to live in Vegas ; I went when I felt ok . I miss it the cars girls dressed so pretty ; then '60 music . I was around when it was new , but never so many beautiful cars in one place ! Take it all in !!!!!
Thank you! A bunch of these cars stopped over at my home town of Kingman, AZ to rest and have a cook out. One guy had towed and driven his rat rod from Virginia. They were a great bunch!
None of them went to Viva, they all went to RatCity Rukkus, Viva won't allow them in. In fact that is why they started RatCity Rukkus...so rat rods could have a show. I was at Kingman and drove back with them to Las Vegas, it was great seeing them all rolling together.
One thing that I noticed with the original "pinup girls" in the 50's and 60's, is that they never had sleeve tats on their arms like some women today. Back then only some men in the navy had the Popeye anchor tats on their forearms. I'm 70 yrs old.
George Travers Think how nasty those tats are going to look on those broads when they get your age. 😄 I am going to be a sexy grandma and these old bags are going to be a ink blob mess! LOL
Missed out bringing my "Bettie" a 57 Saratoga due to trying to find a push button 727 that fits my 383 But John Fowlie 9:32 (His Blue wagon can be seen here) a friend of mine has one so Next Year!! =D
It's got 2 mod motors and 4 blowers dude. Have a closer look. The L/H blowers share a plenum with one motor, just as the right hand blowers do with the R/H motor
All those cars such wonderful cars oh yes those were the days when you had a big V8 powered car with twin four-barrel carburetors and when you drop off the accelerator you could smell the splash of gasoline as you're burning rubber down the road and lots of glistening Chrome and tail fins and white sidewall tires too bad we can't have cars like that today on the road I sure miss those days.!!
11:18 Ich besaß diesen Buick 1982 und er fing 1984 Feuer. Ich restaurierte ihn, dann fing er 1987 wieder Feuer. Also verkaufte ich ihn. Was für ein Glück dieses Auto hat.
Other than the Jiving Contest on Sunday, and the Pool Party, that event jumped the shark YEARS ago! Posers, Weekend Warrior Pinups, and bearded hispanics with attitudes. The Gold Coast days were the best. Back then it was 100% Rockabillies. Today, the organizer sells VLV shoes, hats, bicycles, and jewelry. Sorry but its the truth - everything cool gets ruined!
@Captain Brandon Horror Film Lover A poser or "weekend warrior". is someone who dresses up for the event, only. During the week, they dress is new (regular) clothes. In short, it means that they act as if they are in to it, when in actuality their heart isn't in to it.
I can remember going to shows , seeing all the show cars . They were real nice but a person would think "Iran never afford one" . Then the rare started to show up and I thought cool I can do this. Now they take more time and money than a full custom. Questions we need to ask Does it run Can you drive it Can you enjoy driving Is it safe Is it reliable I saw one in a show couple years back , man wanted to do something with his grandson. They had a model a out back to start , pulled the flathead engine and transmission from a 2 ton , rattle can paint job . I thought it was the most interesting car in the show
Nice to see some Hotrod mag footage that they don't want you to sign away your first born for. Death to MTOD- been a mag sub for more than 10 years (all the way in Australia) but like hell 'm paying for MTOD. You get paid enough on YT with the volume of views they got. Just greedy. Look how many other hugely successful channels make a fortune on here- like 1320 and Cleetus for example. Hotrod just got too greedy. And don't hit me with "well it's still free anyway", cause it's not outside the U.S.
