Wait, not correct. Maybe he had slovak roots, but in this time Slovakia was part of Hungarian Kingdom. Maybe he could speak slovak with his family, but that does not make him Slovak. The important is mother language. If we do not search his mother language and which language he spoken in private, this will be just empty talks from both sides.
Hungarian occuped Slovakia. „The document is a register of students in Saint Jur, where he has written Slovak nationality as a sixteen year old.“ „The last name is according to Beňov village.“
Benyovszky Móric a Magyar Királyságban született magyar ősöktől, nem Szlovákiában, ahol a történelem 1993-ban kezdődött. Benyovszky Maurice Hungarian ancestry born in the Kingdom of Hungary, Slovakia, not where history began in 1993. This is very strange. This movie says he is Slovakian. I was reading the original memoirs from the stories of the adventures and Mr. Benyovszky declared he is a Hungarian. Also his ancestors have all Hungarian names up to the great-grandparents.
Beňovský was slovak. „The document is a register of students in Saint Jur, where he has written Slovak nationality as a sixteen year old.“ „The last name is according to Beňov village.“
Look, in his times there wasn’t known ethnicity as today. Every noble declared in Kingdom himself as "Hungarian", but many times these people couldn’t actually say a word in magyar. Yes, this is other situation. I know that his mother was Magyar, and minimally his Grandfather was probably too, Pál is not a Slovak name :D Many people saying, that he understood Slovaks. That is little bit probably, in Verbova probably even in this times lived Slovaks, but fact he could and maybe speak slovak do not make him Slovak. He would be a Slovak if his mother language would be slovak and if in private he spoke slovak. But unfortunetely, we do not know that, even his diary was in french.
