You know what i bought a dodgy basestaion ...so i could never get the tracking ...i got a new one and the headset ...followed your steps but i did use UE5 so the some other steam plugings i turned on just in case , and holly shxt its working as you can see i been trying this for a year ....Your a star.

How can I keep the live link working even when I press the play button? Livelink works fine. Just press the play button doesn't work right away

Is there a way to maintain this tracking when I run the engine via the PIE. Most of the VFX only work when the game is being run, any way to pull that off?

Hey man, incredible instructions that helped me figure things out finally. The only trouble I'm having: Whenever I enable the live link on my camera, it teleports the camera back to 0/0/0 coordinates (roughly) and I can't move it from there. I attached it to an empty actor and tried moving that around as well as you suggested, but the camera remains in place. Any idea how to fix this?

So how do you package using Live Link. In fact once the tracker sleeps, you have to set up Live Link again. How do you make it persistent?

Thanks for the video. The first time I ran it only one of my 3 trackers showed up. After restarting they all showed up. I think there needs to be a better way to rename the trackers otherwise the hexadecimal codes aren't very helpful in a multi tracker environment. I will see if I can find the source for this and see if it's possible to mod and submit a PR or something.

Hi, I followed the tutorial but it seems that i keep getting stuck at the live link source XR part as whenever i add the component It doesnt read my tracker and displays no data. any ideas on how that can be sorted?

I havent been able to get my trackers detected in Unreal. I have done the Null driver mods in steam vr. Can you share the article please?

All if not most videos about using HTC always talk about trackers ....I never hear them talk about the for base stations...why ? Don't you need them too if not this should be mentioned. I not having a go at you but this seems to be a common thing.

You can actually see that he has set them up in his steam VR setup - I think that he said that he suppose that we have set up the headset, controllers, tracker and base station - that you need to setup to get all of the others to be there :) Great tut!!

@@jorgenleangen Ok there are some post that do it without a headset for example...they say oh you just need htc trackers, but not true ....I have one base station do i need two, i don't have a headset do i need one? and what do i need including cables to get tracking data in steam ? and which steam vr? if its an old version which one. thanks for your response but i need the DETAILS....but this guy does a very good job don't get me wrong. Most people just do demos, i seen plenty

Great tutorial and tips!! I'm using a new 3.0 vive tracker, followed your tutorial and the docs and got everything working EXCEPT while running nDisplay the frustrum only updates location when the current level is saved. If I drag the camera or objects they move in real-time in nDisplay but not the tracked camera. The tracker + cinecamera work perfect in the Editor but not nDisplay. Any tips greatly appreciated!!

I figured it out -- my livelink xr preset had the wrong directory. All gravy now :))

@@coyotevinti1534 the directory is located under the icon of your livelink xr preset. The default says Game… but you can click it and point it to your folder that holds the preset you created. Unfortunately just dragging the preset there doesn’t update the directory so it needs to be done manually. Hopefully they fix that in a new software update.
