the picture processing is so much more mature than the past phones, an absolutely HUGE win, AAND I noticed the smoothness and seamlessness of the switching of lens from the start, one of the few android phones, if not the only one, to remind me of the iphone's smoothness, the fact that this is a mediatek phone and is still this smooth just goes to show how far they have come. Great job Mediatek AND Vivo. I just wish that Vivo released their Pro+ models globally.
Honestly, MTK have been doing well since the pandemic started, their Chipsets started selling around that time as they started to eliminate their biggest flaws and SD just keeps making Oven Chipsets
@@hunter3342you're right. I've seen some people still stuck in 2015 saying that mtk is laggy. I've been using both mtk and sd processor for over two years and I have to say that mtk has less bugs and glitches.
@@n9s3nse10 the problem with MTK isn't lag, it's efficiency. The heat/power usage is higher than snapdragon, it's faster than exynos but the heat/power usage is similar, if not more. The ISP is also different and might be worse than snapdragon. Case in point : Vivo X90 Pro vs X90 Pro+
I'm shocked at the price. It really is unbeatable and the plus model that is rumored to be released before 2024 CNY is going to be even more insane supposedly with a 200MP zoom lens.
I’ve had the Vivo X60 Pro+ last year. I live in the Netherlands and even with workarounds, the software experience wasn’t good enough for it to become my main phone and I quickly went back to an iPhone because iOS is so well integrated in my daily workflow. But man, if there’s one thing Vivo knows how to do better than any other manufacturer, it’s cameras. If you know what you’re doing and you’re willing to take the time to learn (semi)manual photography, it was capable of mind blowing photos. I have shot images on the X60 Pro+ that Id have a hard time recreating on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I would still argue that the iPhone has the best allround and most reliable camera system of any phone if you consider the consistency throughout the different sensors, ease of use and exceptional balance between great photos and industry leading videos. It’s arguably the best and easiest way to get great results 90-95% of the time. But man, when everything is just right and you get to that upper tier 5%, it’s absolutely mind blowing what companies like Vivo are able to squeeze out of a smartphone camera. Great stuff Vivo! If your devices ever become optimized for the European market, I’ll definitely consider buying one again.
The cameras all seem very good with minimal difference between the lenses, the only thing I thought was disappointing was the quite bad panning judder on the videos
To clarify, the judder you see when panning is due to RU-vid’s post processing. The original video itself is smooth and with close to no judder. Looks like I really need to upload my raw files for y’all.
Nice job Lim. Listen pls make a comparison between Snapdragon and Dimensity flagships (preferably last 3 gens) in a fair and thorough manner. Ty and GL! (Actually I know it's hard but I love to see your impressions on how much faster these chips have become in UI and app opening by comparing 3 gens like Xiaomi 14 vs 13 vs 13T pro vs 12T pro)
Yes. We don't really care about the display and water resistant. What we want to know how the battery life and efficiency is vs 8 gen 2 phones. Please Lim, provide us some data 🙏
@@Only_Habibiif water resistant is covered by guarantee, than it would be perfect phone for pool family photos. I lost oppo X6 PRO thinking it is... So I'm very interested how Vivo managed that
that's a good feature of camera for vivo, instead of using 1x, 2x 5x etc, they switch to actual focal lengths of a lens, same with dslr/mirrorless lenses. easy to identify and switch what lens focal length you use.
it is exactly what Apple flexed on iPhone 15 presentation, Vivo did the same, but better, really small feature but makes taking photos way more fun, I'm excited for this one
Vivo x100 vs Iqoo 12 pls. Also, I know it's rather hard but I'd love see a practical comparison between last recent Snapdragon and Dimensity (say last 3 years) flagships and how much better they've got not in benchmarks but in UI speed and rendering and feature proofing specs. Anyway, GL
I wonder how the seamless zoom works. Sony also built-in such thing. But there all sensors are active when using. That produces a bit of more heat and uses a bit more battery. Zoom is also very smooth
May I ask if there's an issue with adding credit card to Google Pay for the China ROM version, I presume you are using the China ROM version. And did you managed to get hold of the orange version, how's the feel compare to the white and blue versions? Many thanks 🙏
I'm totally understanding if this never happens, but i always think about a phone camera system with 35mm equivalent being the 1x with bigger sensor and okay megapixels, say 24Mp , with a compromise on the ultrawide at 18 or 20mm equivalent , and a 3x of 90 or 100mm ish tele, as a special edition perhaps.
My dream set up too. One of the best camera phone to me was iPhone 7Plus with 28 and 56mm. Then they slowly start moving to 26mm as main camera and now even 24 mm which doesnt make any sense.
It actually exists and has existed for some years now. The Nubia Z series has a 35mm primary lens, the current best option of the series for photography is the Nubia Z50s Pro, as it has the biggest sensor out of them (1/1.49")
I support the mm equivalent lenses. It’s so good for scouting or people who are deciding what prime lens to go for. Learning how to live with 35 or 50 for a one lens travel set up, especially on rangefinder.
I have seen the ads for these phones all over the place in China and they look beautiful. You are the first reviewer I've seen thx for this and can't wait to see more in depth analysis
Could you make a comparsion video to Xiaomi 13 ultra? Especialy when we talk about taking photos and recording video's with zoom to verify the switchover between lenses.
I love the thirteenth zoom length on the camera total zoom length. The extra control over the zoom length to be able to zoom at specific distance is very important and useful. 😎💯👊🏾👍🏾
Lim you did a great job and ooo may i ask you. You've been in the tech industry for years now, testing phones and seeing how things work. So my question is this: Which phone brand will you rather buy with your own hard earned money?
Is that it's stock UI and widgets? I got x90 pro and just got funtouch 14 and android 14, but still not large folders and that clock widget like u got on homescreen
Photo quality produced by this phone is just Stunning! Very true colour tone to nature. It make me come to a thought that I may "upgrade" to this phone from Galaxy S23U haha. I don't like the oversharpen image produces by Samsung phone. However, video quality is still disappointed, and in Android world maybe only Samsung is number 1 here.
Question 1, is the Chinese version supported by google?( I’m going to buy this device) 2 : how’s gaming performance? 3: should I get this or xiaomi 14pro?
Hope to see ur review man next! Loved ur critique of Magic 5 Pro, it was handy to know the issues and consider wait for when will come out the Magic 6 Pro
Wow that looks amazing.. No colour shift between lenses looks great.... Can you pls tell me if I can turn off eis and use only ois... Xiaomi I can only do it in pro mode.... I also don't like xiaomi zoom integration in video with the sliding bar... I prefer the way Samsung does it with the buttons... What's annoying is xiaomi shows it but then you press record and they dissappear and you get a sliding bar instead of the zoom buttons like in photo mode.
With the associated mediatek powerful chipset and also with the immersive display rate, the phone is an impressive one that is a perfect choice for the user.
If Canon's metalens tech works out, that is indeed the future of smartphone photography, with the ultra series phones probably getting an additional Supertelephoto lens(>5x) alongside the wide angle
So far there has only been rumors about a plus model. However during the launch ytd, the Pro is said to replace the X90 Pro Plus. So… it really is anyone’s guess at this point.
when buying phone is not about spec anymore! OS is very important! Take xiaomi for example, MIUI/HyperOS is a downer. having a flagship phone that can't even support e-sim, or having AOD display that cannot show 24 hours time, or play a video without advertisement/audio delay using their native apps.
Does the Vivo X100 Pro have these features as the Iphone has: Extracting an object from the background of a photo or video on the iPhone In the Photos app, you can extract the object of a photo or video frame from the background and then copy or share it in other documents and apps.
