Oppo or Vivo? For about 2 weeks now, I have been unable to decide between the Oppo Find X7 Ultra and the Vivo X100 Ultra. I'm getting the device for taking photos (50%) and videos (50%) - portraits and object photography. Therefore, it's important how the smartphone works with people and shoots videos, especially under artificial lighting. What I like about Oppo is that the photos in auto mode turn out voluminous and saturated (but at the same time with natural colors). But I don't like the limited functionality for video. In Vivo, the wide video functionality is cool, but the video itself is unbalanced - the stabilization is acting up, and the colors seem incorrect (will this be fixed with updates at all? What's the situation with the X90?). But at the same time, one can get lost in these settings (especially with photos).
I think every phone struggles with focusing on objects when they have similar colors with the background, but I noticed more with white, grey, and black. My only issue is the minimum focal distance of the main camera, which is a little far when taking wide photos, but it strangely focuses correctly as I get close to something
I have not used video a lot, but what i have noticed twice in the last 3 weeks, when using the phone for photography, is - when changing from different shooting modes, the camera gets confused and totally lags behind when i am panning, maybe 5 seconds delay, and the camera even shows what it is looking at either upside down or vertical. A restart of the phone fixes this issue but i do not think this is acceptable. Have you had anything similar in photography mode? Or do i have a faulty device? Cheers
Hi, I think those focusing issues happens same on other wide aperture/big sensor phones. White balance most stable and predictable happens to be on samsung ultra flagship or iphones (but video has other weaknesses because of overprocessing). Setting w/b manually OR fixing it always solves this for short take (and in stably lit environment, not like sunny-cloudy in a minute or so with dramatic changes). For me vivoX100U seems +- best video device capable on hardware. I would love to see if you would test few 3rd party video apps, starting from free Opencamera, then mcpro24fps or motioncam pro (raw video, but with directlog capture for easier edit). Stock camera on vivo is still crap, I would use it only for 120fps capture
Hi! I understand that the phone must be gone as of now, but do you remember X100 Pro having the same WB issue as Ultra? And, in general from your memory how would you compare the video quality of those 2 (excluding those Ultra specific features like 4k120).
@@StepXX X100 Pro does not suffer from this. A comparison is already available for members. Will be available for all tomorrow. X100 Pro suffers in my opinion only from a bit too much contrast.
Hoping to get the X100 ultra because of too many good reviews of (still) camera photos. But then again, I won't ditch my S24 ultra. Samsung and Pixels never have major issues in either video or super near/macro shots whereas my honor magic 5 pro (which had much better dxomark scores than my last year's s22 ultra and pixel 7 pro) struggled with close up pics of small objects. I respect reviews like LL Techview but things from DXOMARK is kinda BS. They have rated pura 70 ultra as the best cam phone but it loses in images vs vivo x100 ultra by a significant margin
Thank you for pointing the issues. Me personally, my issues on Vivo X100 Ultra is video quality look bad when checking on view finder while taking video.
So I've had this phone for over a month now and I seriously feel like it's a bit overrated for the way people raved about it. It can take really nice photos. However, there are certain things that can put you off. There are times where the white balance, exposure and vibrance can be way overdone. I've tested all the different settings and modes. Zeiss, textured and vivid. The wide angle pics are just not that good since it becomes a bit over distorted and can lose a lot of quality. The night photos are not great and can become quite noisy. The videos need to have a stability fix. When taking a video from side to side in a calm way, you'll definitely notice how bumpy or unstable it can be. Video quality and zoom are amazing but overall many areas need to be fixed. I'm hopeful that there'll be another good update since there was one recently. It's still a really nice camera phone but definitely not the best.

Hello Leszek, have you tested the new trial version for the Vivo X100 Pro? Android Auto works here after the last update. I tested it myself with my Ford Focus (built in 2022). It's running! This is a big surprise. And now I'm waiting for the update for the Ultra...
@@lltechview Strangely, it doesn't it in the description for the update. After the update you have to go to Settings. Under "More Connections" directly under “Jovi InCar” now you can see “Android Auto”. But not with the X100 Ultra. It's still missing here. At this time only for the X100 Pro an maybe for the Fold 3 Pro.
@@lltechview And it works fine. Normally I don't need this by myself. I have a company car with a company smartphone (Pixel 8 Pro). But having is better than needing... :-)
Is it true that the Huawei Pura70 Ultra will stop processing if you take pictures while it's overheating? There was something similar to this on the mate 60 pro where It'll lose frames if you record a video on it while it's overheating.

On the same focal plane? So same distance from each other? Otherwise that might be the general small depth of field because of large aperture and sensor. A variable aperture would help here like Xiaomi uses it for example or Huawei and Honor.
@@StepXX just write vivo x100 pro vs vivo x100 ultra and see the night video comparison... X100 pro more free to jitter and not making purple graind tint.. meanwhile the x100 ultra more jittery
@@lltechview laser like flares are not due to lens but either damage on it or even slightly smudging can cause that, check the lens under direct light and different angles and you will see that there is dirt
@@stx7389 It is not dirty though. What might've happened seeing the footage again. A spider net. I ran through a spider net. Maybe that was dangling around there and fell off later.
Your face is way less yellow, but now its full on magenta :D is is better? No! Are phone cameras pro? Hell no. Do we need another tech video that pointing out the abvious? FUCK NO. X100 ultra is a neat device, but its just a phone with cameras, not a camera with phone function.
проблемы высосанные из пальца. у меня нет никаких проблем с фокусировкой. мелкие предметы всегда имеют меньший приоритет чем крупные в кадре, а смартфон не подключен к твоему мозгу и не может определить на что именно ты хочешь навести фокус
@@alejandroxplres да у меня нет никаких проблем с фокусировкой, автор видео говорит какой то бред. во вторых баланс белого тоже нормально работает. есть небольшая проблема только с усилением желтого цвета. все. это единственная проблема
