The Vivo Geo Racer Knit is my favorite running shoe. The minimal outsole and great ground feel leads to better running form. The breathable upper is nice on warm days. And it looks pretty stylish for a barefoot shoe.
I have some Primus IIs coming, too, from Vivobarefoot, but the shipping is taking forrreeevver. Will have those up soon for reference. Agreed - I LOVE black colorways, but am always nervous to review them because they can be tougher to see for vids, but I'm with you. Bring the blacked out colorway!
How does the Xero 360 compare to the Strike MVMNT Haze? I remember you saying the Haze is fairly minimalist, and I'm currently trying to decide on my first barefoot style workout shoe.
Very different in regard to their overall construction and intent. The Haze Trainer, despite feeling more minimalist in nature compared to other training shoes, is still a cross-trainer and it can't be fully compared to a true barefoot shoe! If you want to go full barefoot and experiment with that style of footwear, then the 360 will be your best bet!
@@thatfitfriend thank you! Do you think the 360 is a good intro to that world? I am fairly comfortable being barefoot, being a surfer I'm used to walking on various surfaces barefoot, but have only ever worn cushioned shoes when actually training. I do mostly jumping, agility, some weights, and lots of bodyweight and resistance stuff.
Another insightful review! I think the toe box profile comparison convinced me to pass on the 360 (I’m not a CrossFitter) I am curious though…do the prios have similar padding at the toe box or are they closer to vivobarefoot court?
Have you tried the geo racer 2’s? Im debating between the geo racer 2’s and the geo racer knits. Im leaning towards the knits because they look better imo, are more lightweight and ive heard that the racers rub against people’s ankles amongst other things. my main concern with the knits is the durability. I primarily do bodybuilding type training, but for my job im doing a lot of outdoor activities with kids (playing sports, but nothing crazy and for the most part in good weather conditions).. im wondering how they’ll hold up long term even with regular cleaning
For the geo racers ive heard they do provide more support (more padding/fabric around the heel and midsole making the shoe seem “smaller” or fit more snuggly) and have a thicker upper material compared to the mesh/knitted material in the knits. im not sure if thats more of a pro than it is a con though
@@mhudson20 so I have not tried the Geo Racer IIs, but one of my buddies has them at my gym! Had to confirm before replying so I could check them out - I would say go Geo Racer II! I like the Knit, but think between the two you’ll get more out of the Geo Racer IIs long-term and I prefer their upper honestly!
@@thatfitfriend no I'm not. Just casually wearing them and taking them to the gym. But I'll give it a shot. I feel like I could at least get away with 2 intense games.
Have you tried them? I play ball in barefoots (best models so far Vivo primus on firm ground sole and now move glove from merrel) but I want to try something from Xero
Thank you! I want to say they're similar to the Prio and around 5.5mm (that's my guess, but Xero Shoes doesn't disclose it, however, it feels super similar!)
I do, but I'll rotate with socks when I do. My feet can be pretty stanky to begin with, so I've found going 50/50 helps, or wearing thin no-show socks on hotter days to limit some of the overall sweat getting into the shoes!
Thank you! Question for you if you're open to answering, if there's one thing I could do to improve this video, do you have any thoughts? I want to constantly improve the comparisons + reviews I produce and I'd love your feedback on this one!
@@thatfitfriend I love your vids and I watch damn near everyone, so I definitely have a few things I will like to see personally. Maybe touch pricing more and available discounts because that makes a huge difference. Also a comparison To top brands like nanos and Metcon. Especially the outsole construction and why someone would buy a zero shoe compared! Maybe sports in the shoes as well. For instance hiking, rock climbing, foot ball and basketball. Do you believe they are worth the over $100 price point! How long it takes to receive the VIVO shoes because they are out our country. Maybe even a definitive best shoe between the 2! Maybe just take this into account lol but tbh I love all your vids and hope that you finally blow up!
Their new Zelen model and HFS are the only Xero models that aesthetically look good to me. That being said they probably design the shoes around practicality over aesthetics first. The knit on the Geo Racer will stretch and rip well before anything happens to the upper of the Xero.
@@hiddenleaf414 totally agree on take on aesthetics on the series.. but Vivos I've had have been very durable so far (I don't have this racer model) on the other hand I hear that xeroes don't last very long, like the hfs ones for example...
