I show you how preform a factory reset on a Vizio smart TV without a remote controller. We will be using the buttons on the back of the TV. Note that if u plan to setup your TV again you will need a remote. Hope this helps.

This tutorial worked great. Vizio d60-f3 power on and off within 10 secs. Factory reset shown here fixed the issue. Be patient. It takes the tv 10+ minutes to fully reboot and restart. Messages appear every so often given struts update.

I watched 6 other videos before I came across yours. The issue was Spectrum replaced our modem. My TV says to go to the menu button to set up wifi. The problem is there is no menu button on the remote, and it is the one that came with the TV. Your factory reset did the trick thanks. 👍

YES! Finally unlocked the TV. I did a firmware update, it finished, then I checked to see if the update was done. It started to do the same update again but when it restarted it got stuck with the spinning animation. This reset method finally broke the cycle.

I don't have them black square buttons on the back all I have is round buttons on the side. My white Vizio logo on the TV is lit no sound black screen. I held the down volume and input for about a minute nothing came up on my screen. What do I do now?

Thank you sir! You saved our TV.. our screen was black for a long while and it took a few unplugging and plugging in after the reset but eventually got it up and running. Let the TV take it's time booting back up

Thanks for the reset guidance. I added the Vizio software thinking it would improve its performance, what I got instead was Big Brother that wouldnt let me use my antenna but funneled me to their internet sources of entertainment. Thanks!!

I just got two of these with a blue only screen, displays images and text, just all blue. I use this technique successfully on one of them and I could see that in demo mode I had colors. They were funky, but I had reds and yellows And greens. Tomorrow I’ll pick up a remote and see if it actually works now . Thanks so much, this was excellent. I know it’s two years old, but it’s still helpful.

It worked!!! 😃I used it on a vizio v435-J01. It just took holding down the volume down and the input buttons at the same time for a few seconds until message came that the memory was being erased...Thank you😃

Thank goodness I found this!!!!! Worked perfectly the first time. I tried to reset it through the remote but the tv was going super slow and wouldn’t move past the work set up. Then I used this method everything went through perfectly

I have a 4 inch section on the bottom of my Vizio M70Q6-J03 that has horizontal lines. Any source shows this and any setting. Will this reset fix that or do you have another suggestion?

I do not know if this has been mentioned, but I was stuck on this language selection screen (I do not have the remote), and pressed input and volume up together for 5 seconds, and it took me to hdmi-1. I can at least use the Chromecast to watch something.

I did exactly what you said volume down and input at the same time with the power on and it won't pop up any kind of screen I mean yes power's on but it's not doing what it's supposed to be doing as far as reset. Yes I seen many other videos saying the same thing that you are saying but maybe my model number is not compatible. My model number is d32f E1. Thanks for your help! I had to go a step further and unplug my internet router from the wall (wait 10 secs replug) then go went back to tv and performed reboot steps.

So the reset worked like a charm. But now how do you click to select the language without a remote. I've been trying to get connec the vizio app to my phone but I think because it's stuck on this menu the 4 digit code never pops up. It's there like a work around without trying to connect a mouse or buying a remote?
