HE only changed cause he back then knew they (Western politicians) fooled him big time... Unfortunately during the coupe etat of the Ukraine, Maidan illegal overthrow of the elected Government with the help of the US, he actually was not the President of Russia, coz he gave it to MEdvedev, so he can take a time out from the stress and needed time to rest.But when he took over again as President he worked right away on the plan, to eliminate the Nazis Government of Ukraine, and there is no doubt he get it done until 2024, that when there are the new elections for President. I remember also, coz. u mentioned the Munich speech, how the Americans sitting in the front row and laughing about what he had to say, i bet they dont laugh anymore...
He tried to be friends with America and the West, but the US government wanted Putin to be a puppet like Yelstin. 2007 Munich speech discusses American imperialism in Europe, which is true as European countries loss their sovereignty. Look what happened after his 2007 NATO expansion and CIA coups to destabilize Russia. Putin never changed. He serves Russia and his citizens. Not American interests. The American government never changes their policies towards Russia no matter who is the US President. The US still lives in the Cold War past while Russia, President Putin and sane people moved on. Russia in the US government eyes will always be the enemy as we need them as a scapegoat for our failing policies
