University village was where I worked while I attended USC in the 90s! SC didn’t own it, they bought it in 1999. It looks way better today. So does the neighborhood around it which was much more dangerous than that it is now. It’s way more safe now than it was then, don’t let people scare you too much. And those buildings aren’t old, they’re classic. They’re not just soulless, shapeless buildings that have no structure or character. Be happy your school has a proud history… Welcome to the Trojan family!! Best wishes and… Fight on! ✌🏻

You’re very welcome! Yes, when I got in USC was a prestigious university, but not nearly as much as it is now. Just for perspective: When I got excepted in fall of 1990 USC, in 91’ it was ranked 51st out of 1,500 colleges and over 400 elite colleges. The acceptance rate was 70%! 10,400 people applied. Compare that to fall of this year: Ranked 25th according to US News(17th according to Wall Street Journal). Over 81,000 applied for this fall. And the acceptance rate for this fall is 9.75%! You are very talented and very blessed. Go make a dent in the universe! ✌🏻

Agreed that the buildings are classic and beautiful. Town & Gown, Doheny Library and Mudd Hall are especially gorgeous. 💕✌🏽

Hi! I’d say as a transfer student you’ll def have to b the one reaching out, but it’s honestly not that bad. I joined a transfer program at the start of the sem so I was able to meet some friends there, and I’d also 100% recommend getting a roommate at least for ur first sem; I went to a lot of school club events w mine & it’s a lot less intimating to approach ppl as a duo. I also made sure to know/b somewhat familiar w at least one person in all my classes & joined orgs.

Oh another tip is also to reach out to ppl thru insta/social media before u get to campus so u can already have ppl to hangout w
