Lucky... i grew up with it too saddly i didn't have money to buy it at the time but i always stayed on guard for updates and looked at a ton of videos and now that i finally have it for 3 months now or so I LOVE IT ! BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE TO FOLLOW THIS GAME !
I adore this game, it has been my childhood, watching youtubers play it in my free time. Now, I do think that the game is basically perfect, but I do think that eventually, it would be a good idea to add mod support and/or multiplayer. Not because the game needs them from a gameplay enjoyment perspective, but because it would greatly increase its lifespan, and give you more money and resources to continue development. Having mods and multiplayer available would increase its re-playability by orders of magnitude, and I really want this game to suceed and thrive for years, it deserves it, you deserve it.
Would've been amazing to live to see a PvP mode and/or coop. Even if uncompetitive, I'd absolutely adore to play with friends. Even if just mirror colonies, to partially avoid balancing issues. I know it's been discussed before, still hoping to see it someday. Had a blast to see day 1 going smoothly and the new levels were amazing. Hearing the project's future is secured made me nostalgically remember the vanilla days and the few years after when people started doubting this game was ever going to launch.
I wonder if Empire of the Undergrowth will ever receive an DLC. But from the sound of it, you still continue working on the game, which is just fascinating, so much dedication.
NO THE STORY MODE CANT END, I have practically grew up with this game ever since I saw RU-vidrs play it and dreamed of playing it for hours learning more about the scientist please slug disco if you read this I have 2 opportunity’s for more story mode content The first concept is that there should be a branched timeline where scientist 2 couldn’t find the right chemicals to embody the power of the ereptors and so he just keeps putting more insects in disappointment although his test concluded he still keeps you and try’s to find the right chemicals and as he is searching he resides to test your strength The second idea is following the footsteps of a different colony as the original one had fell to formicarium challenge 1 or 2 with completely new ideas for any ideas while keeping the formicarium challenges 1-3 the same with some new dialogue about how we shall do what the original one couldn’t Please make my story mode experience take days all of ours as this game fills us all with excitement everyday we play
I played Sim Ant as a kid. I think I bought EotU in 2018 or so. I just started really playing it, and it is SOOOO COOOOL!!!! I love the narration. It's kinda humorous when the narrator describes how dangerous an insect is to the ants, and at the same time, this is the hint for the gameplay. And then another narration when you have overcome it. THIS IS SO COOOOL!!! And don't get me started with the fish. Man, whoever came up with this idea, I feel so appreciated as a player that you made environment actually make sense. I have only done the first 6 levels or so, can't wait to get more. Looking forward to more Biomes. Ah, the actual RTS is kinda... well... the mechanics are so-so. But so far I enjoy coming back. I don't need no sorcerers with spells, or defense towers, or all that. Balancing what type of ants to make and how food to keep is still entertaining.
I’m still old but man this game is still so gripping!!! Thank you for all of your hard work! Creating a masterpiece game which most large gaming companies can no longer do! You are the best 👊
Extra level idea: The queens march in this level you’ll have to Escort your queen to a new nest because the old one is to Dangerous to stay at maybe because of some army ant Army it’s all up to you So pretty much you’ll start with a few soldiers are you up to grow as much as you possibly can Then the queen will get up and try to relocate to a new nest Your soldiers will have to protect the queen and the hard part is your soldiers won’t be able to come back cuz your on the move That’s pretty much the basic idea I hope you go with it
I starting play EotU back when I was in middle school I remember the beach updates and when the formicarium was added. You guys created an absolutely classic RTS and I would like to say thank you for being a great Developer team.
finally the game came out I played it from version 0.202 the only thing I was upset about was that they didn't add titan beetle in the final I was hoping to see him in the extra levels but I really like the game 11 out of 10👌. Many thanks to the developers for their work on the game❤
Y'know, I've got an idea on how you can implement the Sanguinea as a complete colony, and it all comes down to a specialized caste: the brood-stealer, similar to a level 3 Fire ant, their tile can hold two ants, but the brood-stealer instead snatches a larva from an enemy colony and places the larva on the same brood tile as the brood-stealer. Much like the Matabele, they will generally ignore combat in favour of getting their mandibles on some enemy brood, unless if told not to. At level 3 they'll gain a 50% chance to avoid taking damage out of combat and will no longer be slowed down by brood tiles.

I’ve been playing this game since wood ants just got came out, I love the extra levels of tug of war and I’ve already beaten tug of war 3 on max difficulty, I absolutely love your game and can’t wait to see what happens in the future

This game has come so far a thing I want is that if you can customize in freeplay you can put on no star level. On the creatures anyways it’s your decision but this game has come so far! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Can you do an extra level where the scientist takes the ants away after the "final experiment" event. I hope it will be like the island you envisioned in early access where there are many environments with many species of ants living together.
You guys could release a DLC ant species/story every 6 months and I would buy it each time. In fact I hope to see such, so I can continue to support the game with cold hard cash. Also, would personally love to see Rytidoponera Metallica! An Australian ant, single caste. Absolutely vicious bite and an incredibly acidic sting, they are unique as the worker/soldier caste can snatch males from others nests to forcibly breed with them and lay a limited clutch of eggs. Means Green Ant colonies can rapidly bolster their numbers and even survive past the death of their Queen! Could be a fun story, a devastated nest having to limp along until it can abduct an unfertilised queen and mate it with one of their few drones.
just beaten the game, was at the brink of defeat at the end of the fourth challange but royal gaurd came in clutch along with everyone in there hatchery spawned defeating the remaning enemys and beat the game been playing this sense the kitckstater days, its been super fun watching this game grow
id also like to suggest achievements for the extra levels at some point in the future...? i fucking love this game so much, Slug Disco, never would have thought this little ant strategy game would become one of my favorites of all time. ILL GET THAT HUNGRY SPIDER ACHIEVEMENT EVENTUALLY, EVEN IF ITS THE LAST THING I DO, MARK MY WORDS!!!
I made a video about a glitch and empires of the undergrowth and it’s pretty bad so basically the the new species of ants in free play the ants when they go next to the nest they just disappear. I hope you can fix that.

Love this game, have gotten it recently and its amazing, great job! Will there be something akin to middle points/checkpoint for marker movement system? As in you set a marker for a group of ants on the target, but then can add a marker for this same group of ants to go to the middle marker/s (to evade enemies/to move organized without mixing/attack one enemy first and when finished move immediately to the next) Also I have saw a trailer where the researcher squished some ants and it has fired vengeance flames in my heart so will Gene-thief ants ever try human flesh? (in game of course)
More so than new ant species and lifestyles, I always have a thought when finishing a level that the map should have an opinion to be renewable. Like especially leafcutters. You eat all the leaves, and that's it. The plants don't release a defense chemical to stop over harvesting, and they don't regrow. And no new colonies move into spots or expand into your range once you beat the one. Would be a major difference if there was like a mode made with like bullet ants or some species whose numbers don't get too high live out everyday colony life with events and food sources don't end forever. I saw some new pc ant game coming out but who knows how that will be with how often games have announced existence and then bail.
A little late, but driver ants are a viable playable species you can add in despite their nomadic nature as they dig and inhabit nests for weeks at a time. Also hoping to see how out gene thief ants fare in the wild. Finally for DLC you could add the other gene thief skin, further more dedicated species missions and species via dlc would be great. Would be nice to see ant plants and ant symbiotic relationship. Also Asian maurder ants.
i cant wait for extra savana maps for free play! and i think extra maps with termites is a good idea. beacuse they has only one dedicated maps. that i very enjoyed.

Slug disco I haved watched people play your game for I would say 6yrs now because I never thought there would be a game about my favorite animal and so I was wondering if there is a way to add weaver ants to the game? They are one of my fave ants. CONGRATS to the team and look forward to the future!!
Will the extra levels bring another counter part colony? I could definitely see the other foot 2 existing, being where the counterparts go through fc 4 and 5, and they unlock bha, African stink ants and driver ants
u guys r awesome also u know how in starcraft terran can lift off a building and move it? which basically turns a building into a movable unit and then back to a building again? well what if there was a way to do that with a queen but while shes moving the nest center area where she sat still stays there until a new 1 in created somewhere else when u put her back down and she also cant lay eggs while moving around? or would that just take too much ripping apart existing code?
Bought the game on release because I loved the demo. Absolutely had a blast with it. I've been trying to refer my friends to the game but the demo is gone so they can't try it out. Any plans to bring the demo back to Steam?
