The work is really piling up. Gonna have to get over this vertigo thing so that I can get some work done. Support: / rosastringworks Website: www.rosastringworks.com
That was sarcastic - As in, the guy does the best he can and yet gets no break anyway. Funnily enough, the wicked seem to get away with a lot of stuff, as opposed to the righteous. That's my little observation.
I don 't understand everything in English , but I see that our friend Jerry is overworked , and he thinks that there is a lot to accomplish . Maybe it 's better for him to relax in a quiet environment for a couple of days , spending mostly free time in nature ? And then get to work . I think it 's better for him to take an assistant , or two , like Caleb was in his workshop about a year ago . I would like to put " Like " under this video , but the hand does not rise to do it , seeing how the person is overloaded with work .
It's a good job you're the "unstoppable Jerry Rosa Superman" btw maybe you get dizzy because you never get to the end of your talent or thing's to do! See you tomorrow matey 👍 Bill from London.
Jerry, your DJI camera requires Android 7.0 or higher, on your phone. Your LG phone will accept up to Android 9.0. Check to see what version is on your phone now If your phone has, for some reason, not auto upgraded to 9.0 check with your carrier, as to why. DJI makes no mention of an adapter for the Pocket 2. So, it should communicate directly with your phone and the app.
????Morning Jerry????? Just noticed the upper resonated binding On my 1974 Gibson banjo Has cracked and falling out in Small pieces. Using caliper’s binding is .075 x .265. Do I replace It with .062 x .250 white plastic or Do I use white celluloid binding From stew Mac . In measuring was careful to scrape off glue and residue. Did the old binding expand a little over time??????????
Hi Jerry, I know very well how the vertigo can wreck your good times... I've had it off and on myself for many decades. Have you tried traction? It's the one "modality' of many I've tired that works for me, and usually you can tell right away if it's working. You need another person initially to try it; you lay flat on your back and have someone you trust sit behind you (above your head and shoulders) and very gently cradle your head in their hands without lifting or twisting it. Than have them very gently apply traction (ie: pulling your head directly away from your body) without any twisting side to side or front and back. They can accomplish this by merely leaning back an inch or two while gently supporting the back of your head (near the nape of your neck) in their palms. I initially had it done to me by a chiropractor (I generally don't like chiropractors) but he got it within two minutes so that he could stop the spinning instantly, and likewise start it again just by applying traction or the opposite, pressure. I hope this explains the concept, I'm sure there's plenty of info online. The theory behind it is that muscle tension or strain (or even beginning to get a cold or flu) can cause certain nerves to get pinched, pressured or enflamed, causing the dizziness and vertigo. A very good indicator as to whether this could be the cause in your case is whether the spinning gets worse when your head is in certain positions. BPPV type vertigo is, I believe, connected to this phenomenon. PS: Feel free to get back to me if you have any questions! I've been dealing with vertigo spells since my late teens, and I'm now 66! I only experience it once or twice a year these days, and usually for very short periods as I apply traction right away, usually just using pillows for traction and laying in certain positions. I just found this video which has some very good medical explanations of the different types of vertigo and their causes: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cbGmR4v3bkU.html. Particularly from about 4:31 where he talks about the BPPV positional types of vertigo. Anyway, best of luck, I hope this helps. "Getting old ain't for sissies..." -Paul D
??? Why are the frets put on straight, when the saddle is at an angle? Wouldn't the intonation be better if they were put on in an angle, progressively towards the saddle???
Pardon my language, but vertigo is a bitch, I know. Hope you get right soon. I have good news, I am cancer free, thank God, been through Hell on Earth. I will see doctors every 3 months or so for the rest of my days to make sure it doesn't come back. I'll stick with working on a few guitars, and of course the honey do's for a while longer, I wasn't ready for the big woodshop or shrimp boat in the sky yet.
I once wrote (2 years ago) to inquire about an instrument repair. I know how busy you are. If we are out of town and can’t travel there, how do we make arrangements to have your wonderful work done on a guitar or mandolin? I would have to ship it to you. We don’t have luthiers in this region of California who are as skilled at mandolins, as you are. Thank you for addressing this on Friday. Best to you, Jerry! Dan
Having several quality backups for every piece of gear eliminates those emergency situations. Just grab another while that one is being repaired, and life is easy as can be .
???? Why not remove the bridge and the bridge plate at the same time? Vertigo sucks canal water or worse. I spent Christmas eve in the hospital about 5 years ago because of that. I hope you get to feeling better asap.
HI, Jerry I love that camera. And with my iPhone it took me less than 5 min to set it up. The need to have iOS 11 or better. With the app installed you just plug in the cable from the phone to the camera and it works pretty much instantly. Good luck greeting from Sweden.
I have a Gibson J 50 I purchased it new in 1972 . It has developed a crack running from the Sound hole to along the neck for about a inch. What is the best way to repair. Who do you recommend to repair it. I live in Georgia.
??? Do you know more about the history of your property that you might share with us history buffs? I like the variety of items you discuss. Who knew that country living could be so intense? ;)
jerry do you do any exercises for your vertigo? i have severe vertigo and i do these...Brandt-Daroff exercises trust me i am 67 yrs old and this is the only thing that works for me besides medicine..please look it up in the wonder web
Love what you do my man. I have a very old and very well made Japanese copy of a D35 Martin. The nut could use lowering but the problem is there is a fret 1/4 from it.The only way I can see to adjust it is to make a new nut and remove the fret. Any suggestions. Thanks Chuck Tripp.
Hi, Chuck. If the fret is that close to the nut, it sounds like a "zero fret" setup. Not the aftermarket type, but factory installed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero_fret If this is the case, the nut is only a horizontal string guide (to the tuners) and has nothing to do with string height. The "zero fret" is acting as the . If your strings are not pulled down tight on that fret, check for belly pull up, neck angle and neck relief. Check belly first, then relief. Neck angle last.
Maybe a day off would do you good Jerry? You’ll get there with the camera... as you know with computer stuff, sometimes you need to be very patient and persistent. Not easy when you’re feeling off form
