The Rosa String Works Channel is primarily concerned with building, repairing, and customizing stringed musical instruments. I also have a variety of other interests which will be highlighted from time to time. Including metal working, Metal lathe projects, milling projects, farm equipment and farm projects. Hunting and fishing may also be highlighted from time to time.
Hey, Jerry. I feel your pain on that Martin. Once years ago I set down a Ford f-350 Dually on top of a 00-18. It didn't help the guitar very much, but the F-350 never sounded better.
You can also take a screenshot from the web page in Edge browser by either right clicking on a blank space and selecting Screenshot from the Menu that appears or using keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + S. The method you were sent/used is a Windows feature called "Snipping Tool" OR "Snip & Sketch".
I’ve just finished your reconditioned wall hanger “ Scattered like leaves “ Richter Reno. Thank you so much for “Keeping Music and Old instruments alive…..” ahhh, the stories they could tell. Thank you so much. Jerry, thank you so much, Joe
Heya Sir, I’ve just found a year old video of you Reno-ing a Richter Wall Hanger. I have so many “wall hangers” from students , dumpsters and yard sales… I can’t walk away from them….. you’ve inspired me to take the plunge, make a bench, get more clamps and glue and “ hook in “. You’ve made my day/ week/ Year. Thank you so much .. I’ve never been game to start ( unless it’s on my gigging instrument) I’m rough , I’m slow but , on the upside, I’m expensive !!!! Thank you again , the Suns come out for me. Regards Joe
wow thank you for setting me straight on 2 way truss rods., I prefer single action too. Read the Vedic Texts, the Nazi's, Openheimer did. Red Mercury has some strange properties
After 1 hour of long deadly pain…..it just went away in 5 mins….dont know how but this technique does really worked for me…..god bless u old man🎉 #rosa menuvour
I love how you start by laying out your approach and then chastising anyone who is going to comment on why that's not a good approach. Always a good idea to stifle feedback you might get from people with more experience. Then you effectively go on and demonstrate the consequence of your approach. And you find yourself in the wrong situation with the guitar half apart. First off, that top is garbage - incredibly obvious by the light reflection that shows excessive runout - which you further discovered with the palette knife. All of these issues this guitar had resulted from poor (weak) top material (which should have never been used). In short, this guitar needed a new top, properly braced, with a correct Martin shaped bridge. And since it needs geometry sorted out along the way, it should have had the neck removed as the first step since the neck set would allow you to get the neck geometry right once the top was repaired with correct bridge installed.
We lost the ability to play live music in a chain of BBQ restaurants in OKC due to ASCAP. They were hounding the owner and threatening to sue for years of back dues so she decided it wasn’t worth the hassle to keep having live music. Such a shame!
We had a similar problem with ASCAP few years ago. You're right that it's good they get pay to the artists for their work. But they have a tiered pricing system, the highest being for major artists with millions in sales. When they hear of any live music, they demand to be paid at that highest rate. They have driven many small venues to stop hosting live music, so basically, nobody gets paid. In our case, the restaurant owner had his lawyer send them a letter requesting titles of what songs they were claiming for copyright. Never heard back. Like you, a lot of our music is folk tunes and the writers and original artists have been dead 200 years and more. They make their big bucks off the few venues who pay the maximum even though they're not actually in that category. It's really just theft by intimidation.
I've got a big Samsung frig too, just like yours ice makes freezes up and self defrosting never did work new out of the box! lol it keeps things cold is all I can say good about!
After researching I learned to not get an LG or a Samsung Fridge. And... if possible don't get one with a built in ice maker just because of the fun like this lol.
If you don't make a peaked rood, making one wall taller than the other will send the water in whichever direction you choose -- likely towards the pond, maybe? (I'm assuming there will be a rood of some sort.) Anyway, coming along nicely and the water wheel seems to be running well, I see. ;)
Good morning Jerry, I’m sorry to hear about ASCAP situation. Every greedy organization wants to take your last penny. So I agree with you just stop using them. Private or not. That’s why this country is in so much trouble.
Superglue and baking soda its not cheat is a valid repair for one slot, or two max, even the nut from factory has some glue on the wood, but shims are unaceptable agree
