I'm getting back into my classroom today for the first time to prepare for the upcoming year. Last year was a difficult year for me, with behavior. Fingers crossed that this coming year will be a little calmer for the both of us!

Well Mayleen, First off, it shows how dedicated you are to those students. Second, it is not everyday that students can come to school and have that academic pressure coming to closure and the teacher not having to lesson plan or teach lessons so much. Third, it is also not everyday that you and your students get to have that free day in the classroom without any academic or structural pressure at all. It is what it is. - Dwight
Can you tell me the name of the set of readers that you use in guided reading? I think you got them from TPT, but can not seem to find them on there. There is a pink, orange, yellow and so on set that you have mentioned in past videos. Thanks
For the mother's day gifts how did you (or how WOULD you) approach it with a student who doesn't have a mom or have a negative relationship with their mom?
You'll know long before mothers day if there's anything you need to be aware of as far as parental figures and adults in their lives but they can always make it for a grandmother or other adult figure - the conversation will look different depending on your students but if you know you have one who doesn't have a mom at home, it is better to talk to them before hand! Not just surprise them and then say "you can make it for someone else though"
