Hi Adam! My theory watchin your tank set-ups is that the water is perfectly fine..(Since you are gettin good developement of eggs resulting in fry, the water is not poisonous and ought to be more than OK!!).. Apistos often highten the level of aggression just after seasonal rain has fallen in nature!! This hormonally signals to their bodies that it is time to spawn ! In a tank, if a female is already guarding fry, she will often not "be ready" for another spawning.. but a waterchange will most probably raise males temper nomatter what.. So be careful with large waterchanges!!, or you might get one of two things..either the male will chase fry+female like crazy..(all fish who is not a female ready to spawn has to go out of his territory!!).. or the female ready to spawn again will immediately start chasing fry away!! (..with noway to go, and a mum interpreting "the signal" way to harsch..). And all is results due to the large waterchange!! I Hope this info will help you!! Keep up the good work!! :) // Micke
