Thanks for the tip on the eBay snorkel. Really does look much like some of the name-brand models. Good to see it installed and know it fits well. Rock on, sir!
Welcome to the community Graham! Glad you found the channel and you've joined at an exciting time as we're growing this channel community. Oh yeah, the e30 is one of my favorites and would love to have one. Nice! I've considered getting a 325is for a project car...what are your thoughts on owning it?
@@Awesomoto I’ve made mine a budget build so this is great. I even went with the 3in lift kit for a 4Runner from Rough Country. Haha. Just got put on. See how it holds up 😂
@@edwardmyers3326 Mine is a budget build as well, so that's good to hear others are doing the same. I'm about to purchase a lift kit this week and plan to go 3" too. I'll have to check out this RC lift kit lol.
Nice video install 👌🏼. I'm on a search to get a GX soon along my 3 Yotas and I've seen all your videos so now I have my to-do list on things and mods the GX should need. I once did the double side tape method even with the heavy duty one but the weather here in Puerto Rico didn't last too much so ended up drilling the 3 holes for the bracket on the A-pillar.
Thanks Carlos! I'm about to go this route as well LOL. I'm up north for a few weeks and the cold weather caused the tape to contract and lose grip...now I'm looking for a better solution or just drill it!
Great video! I also had to bend my snorkel mount to the A-pillar, but I used magnets. Confirmed they are scratching the paint. Also I've got the Rago ditch light mounts and they don't hit the snorkel (just the wiper blades when you remove them), so you should be good there.
Yeah, well my Gorilla tape approach didnt turn out any better. The cold air up in Pennsylvania caused it to lose grip lol. Ah, I didnt even think about the wiper blades hitting! I just installed them and love the design and easy install.
Amazing video as always! Ordering NOW. Where do you go off-roading in FL? We're somewhat new to the Bradenton/Sarasota area and would love to get the '08 GX a bit dirty.
Thanks Diego! I go offroading on the east coast of Florida. You’re lucky because you are closer to great trail areas on the west coast of Florida. I highly recommend checking out Citrus Trails.
Hey! I have it all installed except for the pre cleaner. Can you share the details of the coupler that you found at Home Depot? The guys here tried to help but we couldn’t find the one that fits. Thanks
Hey Ron, sorry for the delay. No I haven't had any issues with the pre-cleaner and I definitely prefer its more aerodynamic design as the wind doesnt pull it as hard as the regular snorkel top.

Hey Diego! Yes, this was a rubber coupler that I reused from the kit. The one I bought at Lowe’s was for the air box. I recommend measuring the diameter of both the snorkel top pipe and the precleaner. Buy that diameter coupler and that should do it. Were you having issues with getting one that got that size?
I have always stayed away from the drive through washes as I'm not a fan of the cleaning(or lack of) they provide. I personally have a SunJoe pressure washer I got off Amazon years ago and its still running great. I also upgraded the wand with a stubby one and additionally added a foam cannon to it.
I guess as a side note, this snorkel sucks air in from the bottom so going through the car wash wouldnt cause water to enter the intake. It just becomes another think for the spinning brushes to rip off.
I purchased and installed the donsinson’s snorkel a couple weeks ago and I swear it has to be the same as the Amazon/eBay you have. The template and hardware are exactly the same lol
These are Motegi MR149s. Unfortunately, after making Vlog 15 where I spec out these wheels I caused a frenzy in sales of this wheel. I can no longer get a 5th wheel for my spare since they are sold out everywhere online. 😥
LOL!! Yeah, that Blizzard Pearl white paint loves to fail and chip off on us. Thankfully this GX was painted under factory warranty with the previous owner.
Surprisingly rock solid still after many muddy trail days and pressure washes. I switched to alien tape after the first 30 days and that held up since even through the cold of winter. You can find the alien tape at Lowe’s or any hardware store.
@@Awesomoto Thanks. For anyone wondering, [a close friend is a professional painter and told me] most of these companies use 3M VHB tape from the factory. We used it when he repainted my rear emblems and fenders. It's VERY strong, but it still hard to believe these double sided tapes are that strong.
