Vlog #62: Am I Ok? Well... not really 

I'm amazed at the huge show of support for this video! Thanks so much to everyone who has commented or contacted me privately. It's really encouraging to know that so many people care. just to reassure everyone, my personal situation is definitely improving and there's no need to worry. I'll be fine, and I'll be back uploading videos VERY soon. There are many people facing real difficulties in their lives, and I've been incredibly lucky overall. I have massively high score on the privilege scale, so I have to face less hurdles and barriers than the vast majority of people in the world. I'm playing the game of life on "easy" mode, and I know it. I see it every day with the difficulties that other people face through no fault of their own. So thanks everyone, no need to worry. I'll be back soon :-)

Please don't feel pressured to get content out.. I know we all want it, and some of us even pester you about it (sorry) but your health and life comes first! Take care of yourself and fight on!

Idea: a video describing some of those boards you've been making but haven't filmed. just describe what the board does that others don't, how you got the idea, how long it takes to make a board. i don't know much about this stuff, but listening to you talk is interesting, you come across as a very sincere person.

We all face health challenges and in the past it was a case of stiff upper lip and soldier on... I recently commented on another RU-vidr’s channel that I thought the hours that went in to actually making a video was honestly amazing to me. That people like you put SO much effort in to making great videos is truly appreciated by people like me. Because, and I don’t mind admitting it, a lot of knowledge I have acquired has come via RU-vid. And I’m in my mid 40’s - often the age when some men think they know everything:) The issue I see - the fear I have for fantastic people like you - is that RU-vid has created an ever hungry monster that demands ever higher quality videos at at ever increasing rate. I can’t see how at some point this will not have an effect - a bad one - on RU-vidr’s mental health who battle to feed the monster. Personally, I have great respect for honest, decent RU-vidrs like yourself who give up so much time to share your knowledge and ideas. Take all the time you need and come back strong when you are ready. Take care Jonathan. 🙏

Love your channel, just made my first sonoff project cause of you. So cool. Totally get it about editing. I made a video of a build I’ve done and it take soooo much longer.

Your comments on how you tend to just work on your projects instead of recording them and turning them into videos is exactly why I stopped doing my self produced videos. I can identify completely. It's always a trade off of wanting to share the knowledge and just getting absorbed in your own projects.

I subscribed for the technical side, but I always find that the most interesting and informative channel isn't enough without the person behind it. So I think you will find like myself, others are interested in you too, not just the subject matter. Without being too nosey anyway :-) Hopefully whatever you are going through can improve or be improved. And thanks for the heads up on Simone Giertz channel, it looks interesting and the trailer video made me laugh so I've subscribed to check out her content.

They are really good, informative, interesting, just well done, and it's obvious that a lot of time goes into making them. As an idea (not that you need any) how about setting up a few motion activated dashcams around your workshop that will continuosly record and then upload to some storage. That way you can get on with the projects and once you ready pull out the footage and put together a video.
