Hello everyone, In this episode We prepare and tile the upper walls in the Galley. We also get a dinner invite from someone some of you may be familiar with. Hope you enjoy 👍
Cheers David, Sifting through 100's of un-copyrighted music to find stuff we like takes a while. Would be great to be able to get some of our favourite tunes but think we might not get away with that. Glad you like it 👍
@@makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg my 5 year old granddaughter always comes in and says “Nana listen to that music Grandad must be watching Making a Narrowboat with Nana and Grandad “ she loves you guys. As I do what gets me though is she seems to laugh at your inuendos 😂😂😂 Great Job I’ve followed you from day 1. I don’t want you to finish the boat….. selfish I know but you’re both brilliant 💕
@@davidmoody4400 Aarr thats nice mate. She has good taste 😂. Hoping to get our grandkids a little more involved now its school holidays. Hopefully we wont disappear completely once the boat is finished, perhaps 1 a month to show how we are doing on the water. 👍👍👍
Hey grand dad,,, uhh the golden rule in marriage,, two choices,, you can be right or you can be happy!!! I just watched Chris Mears launch and weigh anchor. He went through the same lock that nanny was afraid of!
I can’t believe grandad cut the pockets out of his trousers. For a man that is so thorough in his work, I can only assume he had a lot on his mind. Oh, and it was so kind of nanny for allowing him to be right. Maybe that’s what was on his mind! Great vlog as always and the kitchen is looking fabulous. Also nice to see you guys supporting Chris on his launch of Maximise Life. Another epic vlog I’ve followed from the start. Well done 👍
hahaha he said if he had left the the pockets intact the shorts would have been too long and just look like short weekends 🤣🤣🤣. He just keeps forgetting they have no bottom 👍
Great job of the tiling guys, that sure was lots of work but well worth it! Interesting to watch you doing that as it will be my turn in a couple weeks all be it I’m going for glass tiles. Cheers, Nigel
will look even better when all the fittings are in place. It sure looks like a head wrecker putting it up. Also been following Chris from the beginning, so happy for him to have finally launched his home.
The tiling is wonderfully subtle, a real work of craftsmanship. I often wondered about what I could see in the background and guessed that you weren't far away from Chris. What a character!
well guys take my hat of to you Ade you didn't half set your self a task there mate its now done and dusted nanny can give you a big pat on the back I used to do tiling for my father when I left school never liked it hence I didn't stick it did a year or so on that job hated it with a passion all that grouting the other men that worked for my dad used to leave me to grout up after them 100 s of yards at a time talk about been taken for a mug . Great job keep the videos coming . Steve & Sandra By the way are Boats been delayed by a month this SUCKS.
Thankyou. Yes I know what you mean. Tiling is always nice once you've finished eh. Thats a shame about the delays. We have come to the realisation that anything boat related will have a delay. Good things come to those that wait! 👍
Wow. You both have done such a fantastic job. The fella who tiled the stove area on my took 5 hours to complete. I think the detail is just wow. Well done. Great time with you both. Thanks.
Cheers Chris, Yeah we like it now its finished 😂. Hope you're both getting on ok out there and the pace is slowing down a bit. Enjoy the weekend and speak soon 👍
Backer board I'm using is nassboards from eBay and their decoupler membrane from Amazon and the rapid flexible tile adhesive hope it comes together well Liked the way you used the tiles great layout ⛵
Yet again another very professional job nanny and grandad, two questions what made you use a grout that you mixed up against a pre mixed grout and would it not have been easier to grout without the sockets being wired in? Yes I did recognise your dinner date, I watched the launch of his boat.
Cheers Martin. We used the grout you mix yourself because we could make up the consistency we needed to suit the hot weather and I should imagine its a lot cheaper. hahaha yes it would of been easier to take the sockets off but it was one of them days 🤣🤣🤣
Those tiles look really great it just goes to show what a professional interior designer can achieve, they're well worth their fees, the labourer wasn't too bad either! Just one comment, Grandad you're a cheat in my tiling days we had to cut them by hand, scoring the tile first then cutting it with a nibbler, now that did take a long time, we also had to make the spacers. Surprisingly you didn't ruin many tiles and could cut very complicated shapes especially in big ones. That tape is also used for drylining and repairing cracks. Eagerly awaiting the next, by the way what's that other person's blog called.
The result sure was worth the effort. I think the herringbone pattern cost a lot of time in measuring and cutting, but it has a nice atmosphere. Otherwise it might end up like The Wall by Pink Floyd ;-) That was not Right Said Fred (I'm Too Sexy For my Car)! You mention "soon" to meet on the cut, will it be with your own Narrowboat, or just a follow up lesson with "Fred"?
Cheers, Yes we are pleased with the result. SOON yes we hope it won't be too long now. We are spending our income faster than it is coming in so it's slowed us down a bit. Hope to catch up with Chris once we are on our travels 👍
You two work so well together.... Or do you delete the swearing parts😆 it looks fantastic. You do such a thorough job. I've learnt so much by watching your videos. Thank you 🤗
Great tiling grandad, a job I hate doing myself (no patience) you got away with the grouting in that heat did you always intend to go for a rough cast finish to the grout as it’s looks brilliant as a finish. Place is looking really posh these days.
Great Vlog as ever you bounce off each other so well. Interested in looking at the guy you shared can you confirm who it is please or what his channel is called? Are you planning a Q&A at any time in the future?
Cheers, Yes Chris has a channel Chris Mears - In slow time. He has had his fit out done not far from us and its been a pleasure getting to know him other than just watching him on youtube. Definitely worth watching his Chanel and seeing how the professionals fit out a boat and how Chris analyses the build and life 👍
