Thanks to zoom, I'm doing lectures for med school from home and trying to be productive. Its been hard to stay motivated but I'm grateful to have the option to continue my education in a safe environment. Hope everyone is staying well, enjoy the vlog!

ABOUT ME
My name is Kian (22), I have a quirky sense of humour, and my favourite organ is the kidney (who makes regular appearances in my videos).
Should all things go according to plan I will be graduating with my MD come 2022! My goal with this channel is to share the RAW and REALISTIC parts of being a medical student through my personal experience to better inform people who are interested in medical school...or at least make you smile

This Saturday I will be releasing a video on the best productivity tips that I have synthesized from multiple productivity gurus on youtube, and in the video I also vlog myself applying these tips to see which ones work best! I have honestly found it hard to keep on top of things especially in this time of uncertainty, but I hope this video helps :) Hope you are staying healthy and not being too hard on yourself!

How does match and board examinations in Canada compare to the U.S.? In the U.S. we have 3 major board examinations we take during medical school, which impacts where we will match for residency. Then in residency we take our final one. I would love to hear how that process works for you!- POTATO

Maybe I could make a video about the entire process after I have matched and could compare the US to Canada, as I will have a better idea after I have lived through it! I'll preface this by saying I have not formally had an outline of the Canadian process from med school to match, so some of this information may not be 100% accurate and is subject to change (if any Canadian medical students or aspiring medical students are reading this I would suggest visiting mcc.ca/about/lmcc/ and www.carms.ca for official info!) My current understanding is that Canada has major national exams known as "Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination" and these have multiple parts - they are required to practice medicine in Canada. Our system is a bit different in that we do not have an equivalent to STEP 1 (I am not prepping for any major exam after my 2nd year of med school that will have a strong bearing for the residency match). I believe the match process is similar - we interview and go through CaRMS which is a service that combines rankings (students rank programs, and programs rank students).
