Dude, thank you for the shout out and really glad you're enjoying the series. It was a truly epic trip and the finale is something I'm really proud of. I've never been to the U.S. but it's on my bucket list to come and ride over there, and to reach Prudhoe Bay ( on scooter of course) and if you ever wanna come over here I'll put you on 2 wheels and we can tour (I do work at a dealership and have access to many scooters and bikes 😅) I'm also going to start watching your series on the scooter cannonball because that's another thing on my bucket list and I really wanna see day by day what's the experience like. Anyway hope everyone that came over to my channel from this video is enjoying the content and I'll put here a few more interesting suggestions from me: The highest road in Romania.....FAIL!!: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cDDEMw2ifzY.html Bucharest to Milan - 4000km on a 169CC Sym Symphony ST: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zv1EEFe5ryo.html First adventure with Brutus - BMW R1100GS: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hBnSFT6pGoQ.html Cruisym traversing the Bicaz Gorge: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r4NDjR_8kWA.html SYM ADX 125 - Road trip: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u4e-H9XOFLI.html SYM 125cc Road Trip - Day 1: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cT_UmP7H_cM.html SYM 125cc Road Trip - Day 2: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S8SgcBgRCbI.html

I'm glad to give the shout-out and referral! We small-bore enthusiasts have to stick together! You'll see a lot of similar mountain scenery in my 2021 Scooter Cannonball series. Crossing the Rocky Mountains and the Great Basin on Super Cubs was an awesome and humbling experience. 👊😉👍 --QM

@@QuasiMotard I'll watch the 2021 trip after I finish the 2023 one (have time for only 1 video o day with family and work and my own channel but loving every episode. Anyway watching your trip has got my gears turning with a very farfetched ideea that's probably impossible to make happen but I did hear a saying once here on RU-vid: Fortune favors the bold And God loves an idiot! 😂😂😂

@@QuasiMotard Brother, it's so good to hear you shout out the Love of riding the small bore bikes. I Love my 50cc Scoot. The Roughhouse is such a fun little bike. I just got a great new set of Michelins put on it and the grip is so much better. And yea, Some of us don't have a choice about riding bigger bikes. Because I can't get a driver's license due due to a "disability". I don't like calling that because I refuse to let anything hold me back from doing what I Love, not to mention my need to locally commute. I really dig the small bore two strokes, they have that angry Hornet growl and smell amazing at the while doing it, and they have more power per cc to boot. 🤣 I've mentioned it before in a recent video, but if you ever want to come through Virginia again, we live in beautiful place here. The scenery here in Luray and the Page valley are next level. And again, You're always welcome here Brother. It would be a pleasure to have to have you visit and an opportunity to met you and hang out. I think we've roughly the same age, so we can discuss how Gen X is the greatest generation! 😂 I also appreciate greatly what you said about not being religious but spiritual in another video I was watching of yours earlier. And about the "elites" in this video. Good stuff. Stay safe and keep it on two wheels my friend!

To me (Here in the Netherlands) I couldnt do without small bore. 50cc is perfect for driving on our cycling infrastructure. The slow pace and the different roads leading up to a completely different view. 50cc is a culture on its own here, well it used to be. We’re very densely populated and getting good use out of big bore is pretty hard. For that I go to Germany (Eifel) or Luxemburg with my 650cc+ Honda’s. Long winding curvy roads are hard to come by here and the whole infrastructure is littered with speed bumps. Its al focussed on cycling. So perfect for 50cc (or 70cc or 90cc.. 🤫which is illegal on cycling roads..)

The nod of respect is more deserved to the small bikers! You are my new favourite person QM. Last year I came from a pcx125 to a cb500x and after riding scooter for 20plus years the lack of respect on the road when on the scooter was terrible! I always give the nod to scooters now

My 2022 ADV150 served me well!! I had her for two full years, but couldn’t afford to keep her AND get a new bike, so I opted to trade her in for the 300 Rally last month. Hardest decision I’ve ever made concerning a vehicle bc of how much I loved my ADV, but I don’t regret it one iota since I’m now in love with riding manual 😍 I can comfortably do 75mph if I have to since I upgraded my seat to a wide comfort seat, whereas with my ADV the limiter kicked in at 66. Anyway I miss it but the trade off was worth it!

Romania is stunning. Especially in the Carpathians. Much of the country is lowland and flat-ish, but a large portion is home to the most pristine wilderness in Europe. Much more affordable than the US or Western Europe. Friendly people, delicious food, a romance language, and a diverse, beautiful landscape are all compelling reasons. I too am looking for a new home!

Thanks to Shane O'Riley for the eclipse pictures. Another motorcycle enthusiast Neil, Murnel, and I met at the Two Rivers School in Yell County Arkansas. He had a camera set up with a filter that captured these pictures. He was kind enough to share them with us. We invited him to join in us on the Scooter Cannonball in 2025. Hope to see him in Seaside, Oregon in June of 25. Thanks including theses pics Aaron! You were greatly missed. Hope to see you on Neil's Miniball ride in July or Scootin the Ozarks in the Fall.

I just tried a GSXR1000R at a demo event. It made me miss my Ninja 400 believe it or not. I just have so much fun even after 3 years on that bike. Even after being on a bigger bike before the Ninja. Agreed about the scooters, after my first bike was stolen, it was my daily, had to ride a scooter for 6 months to get to work. It was a lot harder than my old 650. Also, I can’t say it enough, it’s a blessing to see you back on the road. Hope your back recovers fully ✌️

I just did a 600 mile ride on my BV 400. That thing is a monster. I was going to get a Hunter 350 but leaning towards the Speed 400. I'm debating to keep the scoot, because for long trips, there's nothing like the BV. At 58 and riding for only 4 years, small bikes is where its at. 🤙🤙 I think I always get the wave when in open/back roads. In the city, I rarely get it. Which BTW who cares, I love my scooter and TBH their practicality, and versatility is way underrated in the US.

I bought a Honda Navi, and it's just so damn fun. I am fortunate enough to live in a small city, where it's surrounded by rural roads. So no matter which neighboring town you are going to, there is a sub 50 mph road somewhere that can get you there. And so I'm never really having to tax my Navi to keep up. It's the epitome of 'perception of speed, with not much speed'. It's small, stupidly agile, punchy from 0-30, and you can wring it out all day long. And so it 'feels' like you are going fast, when you absolutely are not, LOL! What's been interesting is the number of compliments and questions I get. I live in a county full of compensators. Nothing but obscenely loud cruisers, and over tuned sport bikes. I have literally never seen a Navi on the road here. Mine is the first I've seen rolling down any street where I live. They are so not a thing here that our local Honda dealership still has 2023 models, when 2025 models are about to come out. And so people see my Navi, they are totally curious. And by the time they are done talking with me, they want one.

Speaking of Small Bore, I'm truly enjoying my latest bike; a Kawasaki Versus X 300. It's surprisingly capable on the highway. In fact, I decided to participate in the Motorcycle Grand Tour of Texas this year. Typically, it's done on Harleys and Goldwings, so I thought why not try it on 296cc. Today, I rode down to Port Lavaca to log the Halfmoon Reef Lighthouse. That's my 9th tour stop - only 41 to go! 😁

Howdy, Art! It's good to hear from you. I've considered the Versus X 300 a few times. That new Eliminator 450 engine in a Versus 300 chassis might be a great competitor to the CB500X if Kawi can keep the weight below 400 lbs... lighter is better. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

I've spent time in Europe and South America, where scooters and motorcycles are the primary transportation for large portions of the population. It's impressive to see the difference in traffic behavior and the lack of hostility (compared to the USA). At first, traffic flows appear to be random and chaotic... nobody seems to follow any rules or lane disciplines. However, after just an hour or two, you realize there is a shared rhythm and implied courtesy between the cagers and motorcyclists. Everyone makes room for each other, and the territorial BS of trying to intimidate each other is absent... the polar opposite of driving in the States. It's a refreshing change, to say the least. 😉👍 --QM

I started watching your channel because I wanted a PCX, but over the years, family encouraged me to get a higher cc motorcycle instead if I'm going to be out in traffic. I've got a RE Himalayan now, and I feel like it's the best of both worlds. I'm able to putter around and have a little extra power and size if I need it. I'm sure people look down on my little 411cc. They say I'll grow out of it soon, but I just want to enjoy being out riding, which I'm sure will never get old.

Inside the city here, but probably in the rest of Europe too, scooter and some maxiscooter are the majority. A lot more scooter than cars or moto. Since the street are small and recently the price of cars is becaming inaccessible due the continuos update of pollution, to force people to use public transport, using the electric stuff as a cover.

My little 230cc cvt bike does everything I need in the Mountains around Chattanooga as long as I stay off the Interstate. My friends on there bigger bikes spend more time catching up with me than the other way around. I am faster off the line. They just have power left above the speed limit. I run in to my bikes limits only in the long straight 20% grades. The curvy ones have a 40mph limit that I can still do. The straight ones are 55 an I cant maintain that in a 20% climb. Still looking at a classic 350 as an upgrade but it would be pinned on the limiter on the Interstate so it would just do it. It would be more an upgrade in the look an design of the bike than performance. I don't get disrespect on my currently bike as it looks like a big cruiser until you look closer. But When you do, well.. Probably would have bought one already if the closest dealer wasn't in Knoxville.

It's what is suitable for what you want to do. In city I use my Liberty 150 scoot for around town use. It'll slip and slide through traffic better than any larger bike. Can I use it on the highways...yep...but it's neither comfortable nor what it's designed for. When I want to cruise the freeways I use my VStar 1300, another great bike but not really all that much fun slipping and sliding through city traffic. Between the 2 I can cover everything I need to do, but I'm 70 so testosterone doesn't enter into the equation. :)

In city riding (stop and go traffic) scooters emit less heat to the legs and having CVT transmission has it's advantages over traditional motorcycles. My BMW 1000RR barely gets ridden but my Yamaha N max 155CC scooter gets ridden daily.

A comment on small-(ish) bikes. I have only had 3 motorcycles over 400cc in 55 years of riding. From about 1987 to 2024. I had 3 motorcycles as my "main" ride. A 125 and 2, 250cc scooters. I still have a 250cc yamaha scooter. I have had this one for 10 years. I started riding at a time when a 350 was a big bike. (I did have a 500 a 750 and 800 at different times) but my absolute favorite is 250/350. But I had a 125 for 19 years.

Where the thought of just going "full circle" back to a super cub and trail 125 only is a new potential goal. If only I could solve the terrorist pickup truck/SUV problem.... I'd sell my two other bikes, use the proceeds to get a trail and just stay there for the duration and never get anything bigger/faster ever again... :P

Some years ago on a Saturday morning my buddy and me were on our bikes in a rural/farming area in south Miami-Dade County where there is little traffic and we came to a four way stop. As was our routine when we come to a stop we would always stop on either side of the lane which would give vehicles space to go in between us. I would always watch my rear view mirror and on this day we had just stopped and I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a car coming between us at 30mph and as it past us it swerved off the road. Needless to say if we had stopped like most bikers do next to each other I would not be telling you this story. Living in a city on a bike is really tough but in our case we were out in the boonies but it just goes to show you it can happen any where or any time. Keep your head on that swivel!
@QuasiMotard
@QuasiMotard 5 месяцев назад
Yep, situational awareness is the key to survival on two wheels. I learned to keep my bike in gear and watch my mirrors while stopped in traffic. After at least one car is stopped behind me (as a crash buffer), then I'll relax a bit. That habit has saved my bacon more times than I can count. I've been able to scoot up between other cars just in time to prevent potentially fatal rear-end accidents. I've seen the cars that I was sitting behind just a few seconds before get compressed to 50% of their original length... right next to me! I would have been the meat in that metal sandwich if I hadn't been paying attention! 😉👍 --QM

Very nice HUD overlay what software and hardware combination did you use for it?
@QuasiMotard
@QuasiMotard 5 месяцев назад
Thanks for the feedback! The telemetry data for the HUD is recorded by my GoPro Hero11 camera and my Garmin Zumo GPS. The gauge overlay is generated using a third-party program called Telemetry Overlay: goprotelemetryextractor.com/ I stitch everything together with Adobe Premiere Pro to create the final videos. Creating the overlays is a lot of extra work, but I think the end results are worth the effort. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

Have you heard about hondas new E bikes? Cub E,Dax E, and Zoomer E
@QuasiMotard
@QuasiMotard 5 месяцев назад
I haven't seen anything about them lately, but the "E-Cub" prototypes have been teased at the motorcycle shows for nearly a decade. Battery technology and range is the issue with electric motorcycles. They might be fun in smaller urban centers, but my normal riding chores are outside the range of any of the current offerings. Even the "extended range" options from Zero for $20K+ only offer ~85-120 miles of highway range, and my daily commutes are easily 60+ miles. Range anxiety is a real issue when you realize that you'll be stuck and need to wait 2+ hours to recharge somewhere before you can finish your day. 😉👍 --QM

I've been having what appears to be an intermittent fuel pump failure on my 2018 Honda PCX150. My boss, who also loves Hondas, doesn't believe my conspiracies about the intermittent nature. It always seems to be on Friday in the afternoon that the fuel pump won't make the priming noise. There's cranking, but no ignition. At first, I thought maybe cell phone or other radio interference was making the computer mess up, but once I learned about the fuel pump priming noise, I noticed i wasn't hearing it when it wouldn't start. I want to say there's a loose connection somewhere. But if that was the case, wouldn't the fuel pump work after giving it a shake? The pcx has never cut out once it's started. Only when trying to start does the fuel pump issue happen. I've got the wiring diagram, and it doesn't seem to even have a relay. It's just wired in directly to the computer and goes through a fuse that is also for the ignition and starter motor, and since those work the fuse, that should be fine. Anyone else have a similar issue with their PCX and know what to try? I'll have to open it up eventually, but any advice would be appreciated.

I have had that exact same issue years ago on a 2000 cbr600f4 and it was the fuel pump.
@4chanresearchdivision107
@4chanresearchdivision107 5 месяцев назад
@geraldburmeister9637 So you just ended up replacing it? I won't mind doing that, but its kinda a big ordeal to get to the gas tank. Thanks for the reply, though.
@geraldburmeister9637
@geraldburmeister9637 5 месяцев назад
@@4chanresearchdivision107 Yes I just replaced the fuel pump but that was a carburated bike so the fuel pump would be a bit different as they have a built in pressure switch and a lower pressure pump. I'm not real familiar with fuel injection fuel pump or the schematic but what you describe is exactly how my old cbr acted.

Quasi. What is that panoramic mirror on the windscreen for?
@QuasiMotard
@QuasiMotard 5 месяцев назад
That's the RiderScan Blindspot Mirror: amzn.to/3nJjXLp . If that one is out of stock, then there are several knock-offs that are cheaper and seem to work almost as well. You can search Amazon or Ebay for "parabolic blindspot mirror" to find alternatives. This mirror really helps situational awareness in traffic. There is a learning curve to use it properly because the image is distorted by the mirror's convex shape, but it becomes second nature after a few hours of riding. It's very rare for me to be caught off-guard with a cager hiding in my blind spot while I'm riding with one of these mirrors. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
