A worn bag is good especially around the leather i call it seasoned which makes the bag looks good and not fake! People with fake LV bags use Vaseline to get that “worn” look
So, if I get brand new bag with Vachetta could I use leather honey/mink oil/apple conditioners for tanning and then a protector? Or just the protector?
I’ve never used leather honey or mink oil. Apple conditioner will keep the leather supple but it will not tan it or protect it. For protection I recommend a rain/stain repellent spray by either Apple or Bickmore. Not sure about tanning it - if it was me I’d just leave it near a window with a lot of sunlight and and make sure I rotate it.
Oh boy that’s a hard question. I love them both for different reasons. Dooney’s leather quality is superb, even when compared to luxury brands. That being said, it certainly doesn’t have the “cool factor” it used to. I’d probably keep my LV for that reason. They are more relevant and “hip” AND they retain their value really well, even go up in value at times.
Yup! That’s the correct order to do things. You always want to clean first, then condition, then spray. Just make sure you let the bag dry in between steps!
Louis Vuitton bags are not ordinary leather bags. If you use it without doing anything after purchase, the strap will gradually become dirty. Once dirty, it cannot be easily restored to its original color. Must have been protected with leather cream before use.
The canvas really doesn’t need any special product to clean it. It has a coating on it that protects it. Just a damp cloth can do the job, just be careful to not get any water on vachetta trim because it can stain. Using distilled water can help prevent water spots when it dries.
