If you put some water in the skillet and heat it up, most of what is stuck should come out. Take it to a nearby creek put some sand in it and use it like a scouring pad. Ideally, the inside of the skillet should be prepped. Take an orbital sander and smooth the inside surface down to remove most of the sand blasted texture out of the skillet, re-season it and you're good to go. I found this video because I was searching cast iron cooking on a Trangia. I love cast iron cooking but eggs can be a challenge. It's easier on a vintage cast iron pan because they are nice and smooth. I do think cast iron might be the way to go with the alcohol stoves. If the pan gets too hot the lid can be closed a bit but the pan won't go cold quickly

Needed a bit more oil in the pan for eggs too especially since it's new. Lots of ppl precook items to take camping and hiking.

If the skillet is hot & You put cold water in it , it probably won't end well . In this case only put hot water in it , let it boil out what's left in the skillet .

I think you did a great job! I had the same problem when I first used my cast iron pan it took me 45 minutes to cook eggs and bacon on a 10 inch pan im still learning. Lol

You don’t need to let the burner “ warm up “ that’s a bunch of ignorance from a bunch of noobs on RU-vid. You can put the pot on immediately when it lights and use the fuel as it’s warming up to heat your pan and get the cooking process going.

All those subs and I’m the only one to watch you learn on your alky stove 🥴 looked good to me…..you’ll definitely not perish in the woods. Small skillet is the key to the little alky’s……..bacon then the egg….might be the oil stickin the egg. You absolutely need a small 4/8 oz. squeeze bottle for the go juice brother. When it starts to go out, you can snuff it and add fuel to keep on cookin. A wind screen will help as well, especially if there’s a breeze.
