Brooke, like you said you are doing the best you can in reducing the single use plastic. I read somewhere that “one person do not need to do zero waste perfectly ; we need millions of people doing zero waste imperfectly.”
I’m with your mom!!!! I legit never wear mascara on my bottom lashes, I think it makes me look PSYCO!!! Some people look so good with it tho and I’m so jealous hahahah
Vlogs with Adina make me feel like I'm watching a Gilmore Girls episode without a ton of drama, just Rory and Lorelai hanging out and chatting :) Love it!
Oh my god my mom does the same thing! Whenever I visit home I have to bring my own shampoo.. I always make fun of her for being so extra about getting her hair done!
I’m literally obsessed with your mom!! Your guys’ relationship is amazing, I don’t have that with my mom, so it makes me want that with my daughter 🥰🥰🥰 I love her in the videos!
Literally mom and daughter goals!! Love your relationship with your mom. I have a one year old daughter, and I literally dream of this type of relationship with her when she’s older.
the back road scene reminded me of me in texas. I'm from new jersey so its so different here in texas w cotton fields and oil rigs everywhere, ranches etc. its crazy
Love you and your mom in the vlogs! Such a fun pair of gals. Omg, loved it when the lighting was off in the car and she said "Hold please". Also don't worry about the plastic complainers, they should get after the manufacturers, not you. ;)
Regarding your mom and the blow out thing: that’s supposedly actually better for your hair! That’s how classy ladies used to do it. They never washed their own hair, they had it done once a week. I like that! I wash my hair once every 4-6 days, so I would enjoy that!
id recommend making your own hummus! it's waaaay tastier, you can make big batches at a time, and it's plastic free! i respect that you do your best to be sustainable! keep it up! you're awesome!
I didn't see it answered (though I may have missed it) so I came here to answer the "isn't cattle multiple cows?" question! Cattle is the plural (like horses or goats) but there is no singular word like horse or goat, other than the scientific name which is bovine. A cow is a female who has had a baby, AKA calved. The term cow is to cattle what mare is to horse and nanny is to goat. There is also bull, steer, and heifer (female who has not calved). Info you won't need much with your specific lifestyle, but thought I'd share it just the same :)
A lot of the sustainability questions that you have are answerable by using bulk-food stores (you probably have a couple near you!) and by making your own product. Being low-waste is time consuming and requires a lot of effort, so you have to make it count. If you eat hummus every day of every week, maybe you could try making your own and seeing how it goes! Produce can usually be found at farmers markets, or by joining a co-op. Eating seasonally helps too! (You can find tons of charts on pinterest about what veggies are in season and when :))
Weird question: that jug of water you pulled out of the fridge? Where did you buy that? I’m really trying not to buy individual plastic water bottles and that looks like an amazing idea! And I’m literally your mom lol I go get my hair blown out every week during the fall and winter months cause I don’t want to deal with my hair in the cold months lol but I do own a bunch of shampoo for the summer months still! I’ll bring mine to the salon sometimes
Actually, I live in Dominican Republic and there are a bunch of women that go to a salon and get blow outs every single week, it is extremely common here since it’s not as expensive and exclusive as it is in the US, so yeah it is very common here for people to get blow outs weekly
Also one thing I do to be more sustainable even if I am using plastic is just to re-use it! Like what your hummus and what not came, I'll wash those and use them to take with me to work for lunch and what not! May not be the best idea, but I like to think it helps instead of little plastic baggies and all that
for the plastic issue its okay for some products that you cant find without it, but try to buy in the biggest quantity possible to reduce the amount of times you have to buy it and therefore the amount of plastic
Omg I am OBSESSED with your mom. She is so cute! 🥰 also I just started listening to gals on the go and I'm literally forcing all the girls to download and subscribe 😂
