My wife and I have RE's and we love them. I have the Classic 350, and she has the Hunter 350 (some mods/accessorization to both), along with Hondas (NC750X and CB500X), as well as a pair of Benelli TNT 135 mini-motos. We love your channel for the like-mindedness (bigger is not always better, i.e. more fun) and are excited to hear you're thinking about the Hunter. We've seen over 90 mpg on the Classic and over 100 mpg on the Hunter (my wife is much thinner). We also happen to live in south-central Minnesota, so if you are thinking of riding to or through here, let us know; you're invited over for dinner and the guest bedroom.
I traded my 2019 Super Cub for a 22 Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Added a Red Rooster cat eliminating exhaust, a DNA Stage 2 air filter, a Fuel X Pro ( set on 5 ), and the Longride saddle bags. It does get to the 75 mph speed limiter easily now. Averaging 83 mpg.
The first valve check on Hunter is 300 miles then every 6000 miles. Man I do hope you get the Hunter. I can watch your rides/ reviews before I decide if I want to get one. Have a Good Labor Day.
I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the R-E J-series engine maintenance schedule and the shop manual. 6000-mile valve check/adjust intervals are very good for a tappet-style OHV, air-cooled engine. It's won't be a quick process to check the valves because the tank and entire valve cover need to be removed first (no tappet covers like older Hondas). It doesn't look difficult at all, just a bit tedious. We'll see how it goes very soon! 😉👍 --QM
Hey Quasi. Greetings from Karthik, India. The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is indeed a good bike. I find a lot of these back in our country where it's manufactured. However my suggestion is why don't you also consider the RE Interceptor 650 as well. They are very popular back in India and have a decent fuel mileage and good performance as well for a reasonable price😊
You get the Hunter and we will meet up somewhere in the middle on the small cruisers, I still need to get out too ozarks and I’m dying to make a trip on the Rebel 250, punishing but would be fun lol
Hey man, sorry to bug you again! Are you pleased with your smaller wind screen? I was thinking about splurging on the batwing faring from Memphis Shades. I don’t like the wind buffeting my head around, and I figured the batwing would give me maximum overall displacement.
The Daytona Blast Barrier is a decent windscreen, but the Memphis Shades unit will certainly provide better wind protection. I'm considering that same Memphis Shades screen, or maybe the new option from MadStad Engineering: www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/madstad-engineering-quick-release-adjustable-windshield-system-honda-rebel-1100-2021-2023 . Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
20:23 I was about to be so mad at you if you didnt show the food lol.. you cant hype it and not show it lol... ... looks hella good, jealous of the carbs!
I have a can am ryker. Love riding it all over texas hill country but i think its time to add a royal enfield hunter to the stable to save even more gas in today's time in the USA
Agreed! It's a shame the Ryker is so thirsty on fuel. My Ryker's lifetime fuel average over 12K miles is only 29 MPG. My Rebel 1100 routinely sees 45-47 MPG and up to 54 in slower highway cruising. The little R-E Hunter is reputed to get 80-100 MPG for slower highway cruising, so that should be amazing fun. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard i have the ryker 600. My Mpg in the 40's. I now have 24,000 miles on mine. Its been great to me. Now i want to add the hunter for those 80-90mpgs 😂
Yep, I called Gateway BMW and spoke with Tom. He quoted me $4798, so that was the second cheapest OTD price that I found within 1200 miles. The cheapest was Cheyenne Motorsports in Wyoming... $4564 OTD! I seriously considered hitching a bus or cheap flight up to WY and then riding it back... would be an epic road trip. However, the fuel charges and the 600-mile first maintenance (sketchy break-in running it on the highway) would make that 1150-mile trip difficult at best. 🤣👍 --QM
today started off bad and got worse. first thing heading to walmart and some idiot was coming the wrong way on a one way feeder road. and shot me the finger as he drove by. then i was testing my new trailer for my trail and it was a waste of time and money. its going to be turned into a one wheel trailer like yours. running 50 mph and he decided it wanted to flip over. plus not the hitch wont stay hooked up. after the flip.
Absolutely! The Rebel 1100 DCT is a fantastic bike for casual cruising, commuting, and moderate road trips. It needs some additional creature comforts for long-haul touring. Adding luggage, a windscreen, forward controls (or highway pegs), a better seat, and upgraded rear shocks would make it a very competent touring machine. I've toured my Rebel across the USA multiple times already in moderate comfort. However, I have also ridden my little Super Cub 125 across the country (10K miles in only 24 days), so my idea of "comfortable" isn't necessarily sane! 🤣👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard not sure but if I wanted the dapper grey I wouldn't be fully satisfied with anything else . That color and their rebel black are the best looking ones.
Me, too! Unfortunately, it's not looking good so far. I've already lowered the price a bit, but still no valid buyers... only scammers and fraudsters are calling/texting. I might just strip it down this week and trade it at a dealer. I can sell the extras and upgrades... or maybe do some giveaways on the live streams. 😉👍 --QM
Absolutely! My wife is an amazing cook! That plate was so clean that it could have skipped the dishwasher and gone straight back into the cabinet! 🤣👍 --QM
Why do you always leave us hanging? What's the story on the truck? You made such a big deal for days, now you leave us flat. Continuity, man, continuity!
It'll get its own mini-vlog episode. Christian Brothers Automotive performed the repairs to fix the leak at no charge. They added some cooling system flush (detergent?) in the system and asked me to drive it around for ~300 miles and then bring it back to be flushed out again. I haven't driven it 300 miles yet, but I'll take care of that later this week. My Honda Accord needs to stop next door for a scheduled service, too... so I'll try to knock out both tasks on the same day. --QM
Not yet, but we're working on that issue. She still needs to take her learner's permit and finish the parent-taught drivers ed courses to get her license. We've been practicing in my Honda Accord and our Mazda 3 so she can get comfortable. Ideally, I'd like to train her in "her car" so the driver's test is easier. 😉👍 --QM
