What I Wore this day: www.chelseawears.com/2012/10/w...
A little vlog for you guys (recorded at the end of September, 2012) detailing my second surgery to remove any possible remaining melanoma cells. Not a sob story for pity and please don't worry, I'm going to be absolutely fine -- this video aims to encourage others who are a little suspicious of something on their skin to get to a dermatologist to check it out. Better safe than sorry!
Thanks for watching!!!
Disclaimer: I earned this melanoma with my own sad, sad skin. Not a PR sample ;) Go to the dermatologist!

Hey sweetie! I just ran across your melanoma videos and love them. Thank you for sharing. You published this two months before my sister died of melanoma. I am so thankful for people like you that share your experience and urge other people to go in for a dermatologist and to take the mole scare seriously. I am so happy to see you alive and well four years after posting your videos!! Staying alive is awesome!! Wear that dent like a badge of honor!

I cannot tell you how amazing you are for posting this, (even though I'm discovering it YEARS later).. I'm 24 and am going through what you experienced. Yesterday I had my second "surgery", which was done after my first biopsy came back atypical. Unlike you though, my mole was on, (of all places), my foot. I didn't even know it was there until the dermatologist asked about it. I've been stressing out about the whole situation, but this has put me at ease completely. Thanks again!

I was tested at the start of the year for skin melanoma, thankfully it came back clear but that was all down to watching a YT vid - I'm sure your story will help many! Hey, I also am a cancer survivor and yes I do have days when I eat utter crap but rest of the days,as I'm a vege, I have separate fruit juice a day and separate vege juice the next day. Apple is neutral and can be included in fruit and vege juice. In the fruit juice I include all berries, orange, apple, plum. In the vege juice I include celery, spinach, apple, beetroot, courgette, carrot, cucumber, red pepper, ginger and lemon. I also have multivitamins 3 days a week. That will do you wonders.

So glad you're doing well! It's great that you have such a positive perspective about this whole ordeal. A few years ago I drove an ATV through a barbed wire fence resulting in many stitches in my left arm and chin (over 80 in total). They were really bad at first but have faded a lot over time. Although I was really self-conscious about my scars at first, they serve as a reminder about how it could have been much worse. By the way, the MUFE Full Cover concealer is amazing at covering scars! :)

You are so brave, Chelsea! I am sure you are and forever will be cancer free. Forget about the scar, this is what will make you unique and I am sure the people who love you won't care at all. It will be part of your history, part of your journey to enjoying life to the fullest, to becoming a better person ( I am not implying you are not a good person, now, I am simply saying that such experiences make us reassess and reevaluate what is important in life.) When people have cancer, it help not eating a lot of sugar (althoughbut it's quite difficult) because cancerous cells need a lot of sugar for growth - that is why your mom doesn't let you eat a cot of carbs (sugar). You're very beautiful, and thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. Good luck on the recovery! :)

What a hero... I myself am 33 and just 5 days ago underwent a melanoma excision... Let me start here: beginning of July 2013 I approached my GP with concerns of a festering 5 year 'spot''. She thought it benign, but after a week opted to send me for another opinion.

Hey Chelsea :) Glad to hear you're doing well! Purely out of curiosity, did you have any symptoms of melanoma with that mole, like itching or burning? I always tell myself that I don't need to get anything checked or worry about it if I am not having any problems with it (which I know is NOT good since I'm about as fair as you). I have a major phobia of dermatologists (and doctors in general...)

My grandmother had a Melanoma patch on the left side of her face. You can still see a bit of scarring left over even years later, but most of it has cleared. I hope everything goes well for you in life. Seeing her scarring reminds me so much of the benefits of SPF. Her doctor has since then recommended Clinique to wear. Never would have considered that but hey if it works why not.

Hi Chelsea! After surgery (and after stiches come out too) we usually recommend people to massage the skin with Nivea cream (the one in the blue tin - I don't think there's any other reason besides it's cheap and people aren't usually allergic to it). The massage over the scar makes it heal better, not create weird adhesions and, all in all, make it a pretty scar. Maybe it could help a bit with the dent! Glad everything went all right! =)

It sucks of course, but you're so lucky you caught it early. A member of my family has terminal cancer, they caught it too late (she only complained of something when the pain arose and by then it was all over inside of her).
