@@DanielaDiaries it’s a blessing that they didn’t have to grow up scared like I did. However, the other side of that coin is kids now can be naive because of it. That’s where mom comes in. Rules, buddy system, check-ins etc,.. Like you though, I feel 10 is too young to be roaming around.

Yessss honey!! Adam Walsh lived around us in Florida when I was pregnant with my daughter. When he tragically disappeared, we helped look for him. You know the rest! After that I was a nervous reck!! My daughter is in her 40’s now and I still relive that tragedy like it happened yesterday!! You are correct to keep a close eye on your kiddos! ❤

I’m 47 and have a 10 y/o boy. I definitely ran amuck when I was a kid, but he’s not because times are different now. Thankfully, we live in a wonderful community with a lot of kids that all hangout, so we have a lot of eyes keeping these kids safe and doing right. Even the neighbors who don’t have kids keep an eye out, which is great. We do not live in the city though, so I don’t know how I would navigate that territory!

I agree 100 hun... I've lost a child and been blessed w my 2 other blessings. Life is too short mama u do what ur gut tells u.. I'm even more protective of my girls and they are grown now but my precious Kelsey didn't get that.. It's hard being a parent even when they are older love....

We grew up on aroz con pollo. 6 of us ..and a pot of beans .I remember my mom would always make homemade tortillas for the week!!! The good ol days !

Girl when I was little I'd be watching Now and Then, Mary Kate and Ashley movies, all those little Nick and Disney shows thinking I too was going to be riding my bike all over the city alone like I saw on TV lol. I had a very rude awakening lol.

I wouldn’t let my kids roam at that age either, you’re not the problem 😂 I’m 28 but have a 7& 4 year old and I was a goody2shoes as a teen but my parents let me go out. I was always too afraid to join the trouble but would watch from a distance 😅😂😂 it’s crazy out there

I am Gen X. I need my kid to be independent. Sure go do your thing. Here are the ground rules, be back by this time. She follows the rules. I refuse to put my kid in a bubble. She needs to learn how to navigate this insane world. The more she can learn now the stronger she will be as an adult.
