I love 💕 your OOTD! I agree with you that Chanel’s costume jewelry is a little too expensive for what it is. Very nice jewelry pieces in the video. The Coca Crush necklace and the Coca Crush bracelets are my favorite pieces. The Coca Crush bracelet looks very nice with your present stack.😄Thanks for sharing.🤩😍

This has bothered me for years. For years and years and years. I think their costume jewelry looks inexpensive (but priced expensive!) in my opinion and don't know how they design and actually sell those type of pieces for being a luxury brand. I used to work for the company and I would always laugh at the costume earrings/pieces we would get as gifts, not that I was not appreciative but I have sensitive skin and the costume jewelry material/metal didn't work out for me. And the pieces that did work for me, most likely broke or the wear and tear was disappointing. Thanks for your very informative video. You are so beautiful Jodi ❤️

I have not had very good luck with Chanel costume jewelry although I still purchase it. I agree with you it’s over priced for the material and craftsmanship. Honestly Chanel’s “HIGH” jewelry just seems to be so pricey. I’m in LOVE with the Camelia Brooch!!! It’s ONLY 500k 😅😂

Hi Jodi, I agree with you in regard to any of the costume jewelry. I would so rather invest my money in pieces that are timeless and last forever. I purchased two pairs of the LV (costume) earrings and I regret the purchase. Hopefully I will get my CPW. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hey Pamela! It's totally fine especially when you look at CPM. It's just that a lot of these designers charge too much for what the pieces are made of and the lack of quality workmanship. I think jewelers like Kendra Scott are perfect when you want to buy quality costume jewelry. And she plates most of her pieces in 14k or 18k gold so they are actually very good. And super affordable. Zoe Lev does a great job too on affordability. The designers though. The pieces are pretty but... that's it. Btw LV bought Tiffany & Co and they are now offering some great fine jewelry pieces under the LV name.

@@JODIMMOSLEY I’m certainly going to try Kendra Scott. Oh, I recently purchased a 14kt gold necklace for my daughter by Zoe Lev and you are absolutely correct, the quality is great. Roberto Coin is also very nice, I purchased a paper clip 18kt gold necklace recently. I may also take a look at the LV fine jewelry. You have been a great source in my search for quality fine jewelry, please keep these videos going!! Thank you so much.

You’re comparing apples and oranges. Find jewelry is about elegance and lasting material while costume jewelry is about glamour and fun. There’s no point of a “costume” jewelry if it is not costume, a prop. It’s supposed to be fun, quirky, loud whatever other adjectives you can think of. If you don’t wear costume jewelry and it’s not your thing, that’s totally fine but the style and the purpose of them are very very different. I buy both for that the reason. No need to try and box everyone and everything in with your taste. Costume jewelry is fun 🤩

I agree. My main point was in the case of Chanel, the prices charged for costume are pretty high for what the materials are, meaning they are close in price to fine jewelry from other jewelers. Even some Chanel Fine Jewelry is very reasonably priced. ✨✨💞

@@JODIMMOSLEY you are still missing the point. Fine jewelry by definition is delicate in size and therefore is elegant and simple in its style. Costume jewelry on the other hand is mostly about statement and glamour. When it’s not just fun and quirky, Costume jewelry is there as a cheaper alternative of high jewelry NOT fine jewelry. The look, size and style of a costume jewelry is similar to that of a high jewelry not fine jewelry. Unless you can afford to spend 200k and above on the likes of Bvlgari high jewelry with dozens, if not hundreds of real stones, your next best option for a statement piece is costume jewelry. Fine jewelry doesn’t have the impact or the glamour of high or costume jewelry. It’s Jackie Kennedy versus Marilyn Monroe… very different esthetics.
