Have you thought about getting a new girl for vision? I know you already have 16 pigs so it may be hard but even though caroline is 6 years old she could still have a few years left. It might be better for vision to have a friend sooner rather than waiting a couple years
Sorry to hear about Vision, that's such a shame as it was looking promising. I'm sure he will get along great with Willow and Lennon. By the way, I don't know if you noticed this but on your website in the banner at the top it says "be apart of the pig room family!" when it should read "be a part of the pig room family!" I actually hate myself for pointing it out as it really bugs me when the internet grammar police pop out of hiding 🤣🙈
So sad to see them separated but you did what was needed. I really appreciate your transparency with your experience bonding them. I hope miss Sassy lady lives a super long happy life and one day vision can go back with the herd or go with some ladies he gets along with.
Not fair for little Vision right? I really hope he can get along with the other girls, as I hope Caroline gets to be 10 yo. If the new bonding doesn't work, I think you could find vision a girlfriend he loves, now he's neutered and you know he is happy with the ladies, he has a lot of options to share his life with one or more buddies.
Sounds like the problem was with Caroline being so dominant, she wants to be the Queen, so he should do fine with most other girls, maybe he should try him with the new girls he just got who seem more timid.
You're so right Austin that guinea pigs are not kids pets, they need a lot of care and attention every day, parents need to realise that because that's why so many end up in rescue centres, rehome through online ads or just abandoned. The most rewarding pets though :)
Have you considered splitting the herd into two smaller ones so both Vision and Caroline have one or two friends each? It seemed like Vision really got along with some of the other females and Caroline doesn't get along super well with anyone.
He just got 4 nrw girls from a neglect situation. Okay I don't know if he's going to keep them but perhaps he should try Vision with them when they have setled.
Thank you Austin for showing real life Guinea piggy life!!! I have 6 and you’re an Angel!! Whoever I being pissy towards you about Winston… let them take care of your babies for a hour… you’re an Angel! Love&light from California 💖💖
😭😭😭Still no squish tunnel for me, lol. Good thing I'm patient and as a teacher getting ready for the new school year my money is tied up with that anyway. However, I can't wait until it's my turn to buy a squish tunnel! Love you, Austin ❤
aww.. bless vision, same happened with my last set of boys - they had a scwabble before i rescued them and then they were fine.. my boys i hv at the minute do not get along in the cage but in the playpen so yh, also i hv checked ur website out but everythings sold out and i was wondering if u could add a pre-order tab maybe.. Just an idea but love ur products i already have a squish tunnel but need more for them, as i am rescuing some more piggies x
I hope all the piggies are okay and doing well, perhaps one day you will come across a great bond for vision and don't have to go through this bond breaking again! I've never experienced this with my piggies as they all get a long very well, they are blood related to one another! As Caramel (one of the piggies I have) had two litters of pigs and they get along well, her first litter the two boys were rehomed and I kept the two females and one of her daughters Nutmeg had children and they all get along great. They will be having a cage upgrade at some point so they all have more space of their own, I also have to see if Zeus will get along with Chester (Chester is Nutmeg's only son) and if they do they will be in a c&c cage together. 😁❤❤
I would love to learn more about launching, rumbling, tornadoes, and teeth chattering. I've never heard about that until I watched this channel. I don't have any piggies, but I love all animals and I would just like to be knowledgeable. ❤
To have a better knowledge of how much you should make maybe you could do some pre-orders ? Obviously with a limit so that you’re able to do them in a appropriate amount of time, but I feel like you wouldn’t be as confused to how much you need to make
I totally trust your judgement in the neutering and other constant care of your cute little guineas! I haven’t walked in your shoes and people who are not in your situation need to be kind, trustful, and understanding of the decisions you make. Haha as I’m watching the hay rack being upturned! Lol
I'm so sorry Austin, it was so obvious how bad you wanted it to work out and it really seemed like it did at first. Hopefully Lennon and Willow will accept Vision with no major problems. 🤞
Hi I just want to say how much I enjoy your videos I am totally blind and I really appreciate you describing everything that you do in them I am so sorry that people are rude to you and tell you that you’re postponing the neuter of one of your guinea pigs because you’re not you are doing the best you can you have a business you have 16 guinea pigs you have your new little dog you’re just doing the best you can and people are just jerks and I just really hope that you don’t let it get you down because I know it can be discouraging I know when I have tried to make RU-vid videos oh my channel I’ve had people make some not so nice remarks because of me not being able to see in point the camera at the right thing so I know how it feels and I just want you to know I’m here for you and don’t hesitate to reach out hope to hear from you
Same here, I had to separate my herd of 6 again into 3 and 3. When wounds are healt, I will reopen and try again ... and again. Whenever they are outside in the garden, it works well with all of them. But not inside. Always like a few weeks work well and then they start again ... 2 boys. About a month they were best buddies, then the older one started attacking the younger new boy but he was not having it so the older one got bitten in the butt and his ear torn. Both partial herds have 3 sqm each. I usually have the pen open as well so they can even roam around the entire apartment ... and meet the cat. So there is enough space to avoid each other ... but nooo.
Dang, doesn’t give me a lot of hope for my two pigs. I recently put two adult females together. They had a bit of a fight at the start but eventually settled down. One of the two is very insistent on being the dominant pig. Constantly rumble strutting, stealing food, and chasing the other pig. The most submissive pig just complains a lot and runs away. No teeth chattering or fights but it’s been a week now and there’s still lots of dominant behaviour from the one pig and lots of crying/complaining from the other. Hope it works out
Why not put Caroline on her own & Vision with the herd? Just saying. Congrats on your launch! You are so busy. When do you rest? Save some me time for yourself.
So I know you want to bond either boys with the herd after Caroline passes, but couldn't you bond all your girls together? And then all of them with one of the boys? I know that still means on of your boys will be alone but also means you have one big herd. And one big cage.
Just out of curiosity, how common is it for a female to bully a neutered boar out of the herd? I was accustomed to the idea that a boar held the highest in the hierarchy but maybe I'm wrong
Hi idk if you will see this I mean you get so meay comments but I reall you love your Guinea pigs sooo cute the amount of Guinea pig hair must be a lot I have one Guinea I want to get another but I can for now but I do give her a lot of time and I play with her and she has a 2x3 in an L shape with 1x2 so I think it’s a good size for her she is a long hair and she is 6 moths old sorry for my spelling it’s bad but in the future I want to have a pig room and give her and my future pigs a big area
Feel so bad you're bonding with Vision and you're small herd didn't work out, what can you do with dominant females. Putting Vision in with Lennon (if Lennon's a male) and Willow I don't know if bonding 2 males with one female is a good idea, I've never done it... Has anyone else done that ????? All the best....
Take no notice of anyone ok he is beutiful he reminds me of one we had that we called little man he was beutiful we had five we got one and thought there was something wrong so I took her to the vets because she was putting on to much weight but she didn't seam to eat a lot and the vet said do you want the bad news or do you want the good news so I said either I thought it was bad but when the vet said well she's pregnant and she's not got long he asked if I could accommodate her and her little ones I said we can and we got a nice cage in the house so she was warm and the baby's one evening we noticed she had gone slim so we know she'd had them didn't know if they was ok or not we didn't desurb them and one day they came out with there mum they was absolutely gorgeous all fore of them three girls and a boy we was going to give them away when old enough but desided to keep them this was about fifteen to twenty years ago now my kids loved them and me to but the rabbit never got on with them they lived to be about eight and ten years old we will never forget them now we have a dog and my son has a tortoise he is lovely and the dog is called Lexie and she is beautiful too
2 unfamiliar guinea pigs won't play together like dogs for example. Once you put them together, they will start the bonding process. And once you put them back to their original herd/pig friend, they will most likely having some issues with them as well as their original bond got disturbed by the new bonding. So, very bad idea, which can even break the old bond.
Just a suggestion~ why don’t you separate Caroline because vision just wants to be with the girls and he can’t be with them because Caroline wouldn’t let him
