Thank you all for loving Michi so much! This video was filmed a few weeks ago, and if you follow me on IG, you will know that she was hospitalized this past week. She got sick with Leptospirosis shortly after I filmed this video. Thankfully, after 4 days in the ICU, she is now home and recovering slowly day by day. For those who have been following along for years, you have seen Michi grow up from her sassy self to the sweet old lady she is today. My heart goes out to everyone with a senior or sick pet. It's not easy watching your babies go through these changes. Wishing you all the best, remember to cherish every day, and soak in every moment ❤
Hi Weylie, This actually made me tear up... but I want to thank you for those kind words. Many people in my entourage do not seem to grasp how hard it is for one to see your trusted companion suffer. I went (am still going through) very tough stressful times with my sweet boy... He's 13 and a half years old and such a good hearted brave doggo despite all the trauma he experienced. He literally went through hell and back and really fought against all odds (still is), but I never gave up on him even though people told me otherwise. Since May of this year, I legitimately thought I would lose him a thousand times. The worst months I experienced so far and in retrospect I realise I kind of stopped living during this time. He was diagnosed with so many diseases, but I pray and hope he will recover so that we can enjoy some more time together... His behaviour shows me that he really wants to live and has not given up. I know there is never a good time to say farewell, but after all we went through together, I simply cannot say goodbye to my best friend and soulmate. I know this sounds crazy to some people, but the emotional connection to our beloved animal friends is so strong and unique that we suffer immensely when they suffer and I do also believe that a part of us dies with them when we lose them... I am relieved to hear that your sweet girl is slowly recovering from Leptospirosis. Seeing her weak was so hard to watch because I know what it feels like to feel powerless.. I really wish sweet Michi (and all the animals who are going through bad times) all the love, cuddles and treats in the world for as long as possible
We have two Shibas (ages 4 and 2) and Michi inspired us to get a Black and Tan one 2 years ago. She’s all sorts of crazy! 🤪 I’ve been watching you guys for years and love seeing all of your pets. We had a Holland Lop bunny before the Shibas, too. I’m praying for Michi that she’s pain-free and lives her best life with you guys. Thank you for sharing her with us. The ending of this vlog made me tear up 🥹 I don’t ever want to think about losing one of my babies. Love your vids!
Much love to you, Wah and your furred family. I don't comment usually tho I've been watching your videos for several years. Have you thought about acupuncture for Michi? I helps me with different ailments and I have friends that take their babies to get treatments frequently. I think it might be harder to go on low carb vegetarian because of the lack of meat. You'll need to consume more fatty fish, avocados and such
I really wanna thank u for all the great time and love that u share with us about the relationship with Michi in all the years, time is a fact and one of the most terrify things that we have to deal with our pets. Im so much proud of u guys. Thanks a lot
Oh Michi - she is so loved by you guys and it's great to know she spends her days being loved and cuddled. She has such a great life with you and is so lucky ❤I lost my two family pups during the pandemic due to old age and know how hard it can be watching them age. Our poor sweet dogs don't live long enough but they leave marks on our hearts forever.
OMG 😳 The way Michi was looking directly at Weylie while she was explaining her current health condition to us.. Michi’s eyes were filled with such love! Wishing Michi the best! Having a senior dog is not easy. What people don’t tell you is how incredibly difficult it is to watch your dog be painful, sick, and slowly drifting away. I too am cherishing all these small moments and making my last precious memories with my baby boy before he goes. I wish we just had more time. 😢

my baby is 9 years old and still strong and playful, but I absolutely dread the day he starts slowing down. seeing michi the past few weeks has broken my heart and this video made me cry. i’m glad she’s doing better and wishing her and you and wah the best. michi is such a sweetheart and i’m glad her and money have gotten along again 💖
I often forgot that it's been 10 years since we were first introduced to Michi. Love you so much Michi. Even though I've never met her in real life I feel like she's basically my dog too lol. Weylie, I am going through the same thing with my senior dog right now… I’ve had him since 2010. It breaks my heart to know there is not much we can do but give him a comfortable and happy life for as long as we can. That’s what my family and I continue to do each day, taking it one day at a time and remembering to cherish our time together. I hope you are finding peace in having brought endless happiness and love into Michi’s life. A pet’s love is really something special. ❤
Of course Michi remembers you and Wah, in spite of the challenges she is currently facing in remembering things! I remember how much she always misses you guys when you guys leave for the day, or a trip, how excited and how she cries when you two return to pick her up. It is so amazing that her love is what she remembers and feels the most today. It is such a testament to the beautiful bond that you and Wah share with Michi. Michi is my favouritest Internet dog, so watching her in this video made me cry. I pray for Michi to live her old days comfortably and happily, as much as dogly possible and beyond, with you.
That must be so hard going through that with Michi. I can’t imagine 😢 but I love that you guys are taking it day by day and just giving her the happiest life that she deserves. She’s in the best place she can be with you two! Hope you have many more years with her 💗
So sorry for what is happening with Michi, last year I lost my 18 years old dog and it was so hard see him change so much the last couple of years. Stay strong, this is the time when they need us the most.❤️

I understand how emotionally taxing and exhausting it can be to provide around the clock care for an aging/sick dog who is also a lifelong family member! Hey Weylie, there are canine geriatric rehab exercises you can do to keep Michi to stay as strong as possible to work on her balance and strength. Wasn’t sure if you knew that was even an option! Love your videos!

I’ve been crying about Michi constantly checking for updates 😢 it made me cry to hear this update too, I dreaded this moment with my childhood dog but unfortunately she died early at the age of 11, I still miss her sooo much. I’m just glad that Michi has such amazing loving parents you guys go above and beyond for her and she is so lucky for that. She is just so cute and sweet I love her. I been watching her for years, I been looking at old vlogs Michi is so intelligent and joyful it breaks my heart into pieces to see her getting older and having health issues and hearing about how she has puppy dementia 😢 I can’t stop crying. I love her and I hope she has a great rest of her life ❤️

my corgi turned 15 too, in august. ever since, her health condition dropped a bit, got fungi around eye area, heart a bit enlarged, weaker legs than before, sight and hearing loss a bit, but I am still glad she is relatively healthier than other dogs in the same age. i hope michi is doing well and enjoys everyday with u and wah
Awww this makes me feel old. I didn't even realize how long you've had Michi. My brain was just like thinking about how you've had her forever especially back before you got more dogs. i have a 16 year old pup with doggy dementia as well. There are things you can do to help slow the progression of it! 1 supplement my vet highly recommended was senilife. it's 1 a day, smells like fish oil, and available on amazon, walmart pet rx, and i think chewy! My dog doesn't remember anymore commands, how to play, or even goes on walks anymore. She kinda just wanders around on the grass cause it's still good for them to take them outside. doggy diapers help with the incontinence and a raised food bowl helps with balancing while they eat. I hope this helps! My dog has had dementia for the past 2-3 years now. There's no fixing it, but I'm glad that her condition hasn't drastically worsened :') Sending you guys soooo much love!

My dog also had the same symptoms and a tumor like Michi. We also opted for letting her live life as much as she wanted and enjoy life as if nothing happened. She passed away 6 years ago but im sure she was very happy. Pets are seriously family ❤️
😢 awwww I lost my cockapoo earlier this year and he went through something similar, he was 16. So heartbreaking watching them go through that. Sending lots of love to you and Michi ❤

please eat your carbs!! everything is fine in moderation, and you NEED carbs/sugar to survive and function properly; your brain literally runs off of carbs, not protein or fat. protein & fat are necessary and make you feel full longer, but carbs are an essential energy source, which is why anyone will get tired without them. it's good to limit refined/processed sugar, but even that is fine in small amounts :) no need to eliminate anything from your diet unless you have allergies/intolerances that make you feel unwell!

Ahh I feel sad for Mitchi😕I lost my cats about a year ago three months apart and it's so hard to watch when their health is failing, so I really feel for you and Wahlie.

My shiba is 15 too and he's got all the cognitive decline similar to Michi!!! My shibeee whines a lot at night and sometimes he stares into space...it's sad but we've given the best lives they could ever have! So enjoy the time we have with them and hope for the best :)

Carbs are so important and necessary!! It’s your body’s primary source of energy. There’s a big difference between simple sugars from junk food and complex carbs like whole grains (brown rice, bulgur, freekeh), potatoes, beans etc.. please don’t demonise all carbs- it’s just a matter of prioritising whole foods most of the time 🙏🏼 any strict diet where you eliminate an entire food group is not sustainable (nor is it healthy unless you have a specific medical condition)
I think that is the best decision for michi. Given her age, you and wah can give her the best end of life care and let her live as peacefully as she can until she passes. Bless her she is loved
Michi love. i lost two elder pups after 15 years of love in 2020, 2021. my 3rd pup is also aging and my 4th is now a middle age girl. it hurts but i am blessed every day God lets me keep them.
