It's my sisters birthday!!! Celebrated by going shopping on the Kings Road in Chelsea and checked out the yummy Saturday food market. Had a lovely lunch at my fav the Ivy Garden and as usual ate too much!

Happy Birthday Natalie! Love all the beautiful flowers and cakes. Nothing like that in the Southern US I’m afraid. Makes me miss home even more. Lunch was really reasonable too for such a lovely upscale restaurant.

For a country that isn't known for having great food, it sure looks pretty incredible! I think England gets a bad wrap and I have never been there or tasted their food. Watching these videos really makes me want to head on over the pond as they say.

It's a long-outdated British stereotype, like bad teeth. It stems from Americans stationed here during and after the war. Food was in extremely short supply, as all shipping to and from Britain was used solely for military equipment and personnel. Most food ingredients were home-produced and very basic, and they were also tightly rationed until the mid-1950s. Everyone had ration books allowing them to purchase very restricted quantities of meat, sugar, eggs butter etc. (And British dental health is now better than US dental health!).
