Hi Sandy , I was so pleased when I spotted a copy of ‘Christmas from the heart of the home ‘ by Susan Branch in a local charity ( thrift ) shop today ❤ thanks for the lovely Vlogmas 🎄🎅🏻 🧶 ps I’m going to also try your home reset 😊
Sandy, I love your Vlogmases and look forward two them every year - and your cookbook flip throughs in them 😅. So good to see how you admire Jamie as well! I have all his cookbooks, except the Christmas one!😳. It looks stunning. His new 5 ingredients Mediterranean is a-mazing!! You might really like the “making” books as they are a knitting AND cookbook in one! There is no Autor, but mine are “Fauna”, “Lines”, “black and white”. Right up our alley 😅
Hi Sandy, Thank you for showing the ADVENT cookbook. I am German and these are all the traditional recipes from my childhood. I think I will get a copy for myself (the German version of course 🙂 )
Wow! I have been looking forward to the "Cookbook Episode". Love it! I have almost all the same books you showed, and started from the beginning with Nigella and Jamie... and Gordon Ramsay. I also have all of Nigella's videos and pull them out every Christmas simply for the pleasure of re-watching her. I love Nigella and Gordon particularly! Thanks again for this holiday treat!🥰
Hi Sandy, Thank you for sharing this vlogmas series! Every episode has a nice comfortable pace, and is so well planned and so inspiring. In the midst of this advent i was taking a moment to be grateful for the miracle of life, the joy we can experience, the privilege of having a voice and making choices. The miracle of having senses and talents , to work with all those nice yarns and colors. Have you ever read the story about Bezalel and Aholiab? They got all the skills and were masters at every craft. Wishing you a blessed week.
I find myself always looking up your cookbook recommendations and have purchased quite a few of them. A few good ones are: Maggie's Christmas by Maggie Beer Anything by Yotam Ottolenghi, in particular 'Sweet' and 'Ottolenghi Simple' Any of the Goosberry Patch Christmas books I love the annual Southern Living cookbooks Merry Christmas Sandy to you and your family.
I’m a sucker for beautiful cookbooks, too! But I’ve moved a couple of times in the past decade and downsized everything, including the bookshelves. Now the library is my cookbook shelf…my tax dollars at work😉. It was lovely living vicariously through your beautiful collection. Cheers!
Very cool cookbooks! Thanks for going thru them for all of us. MISTY MINTS (my namesake lol!) by Allan Candy is a must on all Canadian coffee tables. 😂🎄🎄🥰 at Christmastime…
Misty Mints! We would always look forward to company coming so we could have them! I’m sure there were more than a couple of times that my mom went to put them out and found the green box empty as my brothers and I snuck them. Nice memory!
I love the cook book. My mom is German and we make many of these cookies and treats. For the vanilla crescents. I use ground hazelnuts instead of almonds and it is so much better. Have fun.
I'm enjoying your Vlogmas this year, thank you for sharing. When you mentioned the pastel chocolate mints, it reminded me of the ones my mother put out at the holidays. They had small white candy dots on the top and were in the shape of a hershey kiss. I wonder if they the same as you remember. I'm quite a but older than you and in the US so maybe not but it brought back a sweet memory for me. ❤
I got Baking for the Holidays on your recommendation last year and I love it! The cinnamon rolls are truly the best. I get asked almost weekly by someone in my life when I'm making them next 😂
I love your cookbook sharing! You have an enviable collection- I’m wondering how you remember what recipes are in which! You kept my company while wrapping all my daughter’s gifts today. A nice relaxing morning!
I actually do for a loot of them. I have some that are just fun to flip through and read, some to cook from and others I eventually give away to friends or donate.
Lovely Vlogmass as usual, Sandy. I used to collect cookbooks but stopped due to not really having anyone to cook for. Hubby is meat and potatoes kind of guy. 🎄
I am with you on the mice! Quark is available and it is just solid cottage cheese, so you could maybe substitute that. I missed your leather update, but I would love a red leather bag in the new year. I always buy myself a birthday present for my birthday in March 😊
I am not sure I dear to look on the cookbooks. Last year I almost turn Norway upside down looking for the cookbook you showed. I found it 😂 and now it stand with my 20 other cookbooks.
Oh! I had completely forgotten about those mints - Misty Mints, I think they were called. Canadian Tire is selling similar ones from Hickory Farms...I'm going to give those a shot. Hope you manage to find something similar, too!
I have a question 🙋🏻♀️ do you keep knitting books as well? I wonder how you keep them if you do ? I’m struggling with room for knitting and cook books and wondering how to keep solace for both
I have a small collection of knitting books and keep them in my studio/sewing room along with my old textbooks from university (I took fashion design).
Hi Sandy you are my favorite Vlogmas to watch. Thank you for all the beautiful content you provide us. I love your mix of knitting and home. Would you mind sharing where your green coat/jacket is from? Thank you
