I think your reply to the body positivity was eloquent articulate and honest. You look wonderful and I am cheering you on all the way.

great video, open and honest, its what is needed when WLS is involved, you are looking so radiant and happy. Love your videos. Being 10mths post sleeve myself, there are not many people that are honest about this process, it's certainly not an easy one!

On the target weight thing... I had VSG 2 years ago and I had a very vague idea of what my target was, but I figured when I got close I would figure it out. I ended up being about 15 lbs below my original target weight, and I still wouldn't mind losing another 5 lbs but I might not be able to. I've been maintaining this weight since March and that's with working out like a madwoman and continuing to eat low calorie. It's just like your surgeon told you: at some point you get to a place where what you eat and what you need to eat to maintain just match up, and that's where you stay. I had a very strong 'reaction' to VSG to where I was eating only about 500-550 calories for the first 12 months, but even I could eat 2000 calories/day now if I wanted to. I try to aim for 1500-1700 with several hours of exercise. Something no one told me but I found out from research is that people who were very overweight for a while, but then lose weight, need fewer calories to maintain x lbs than someone the same size who was never overweight. An always-thin person could maintain my current weight WITHOUT exercise on about 1700 calories, but because I used to be fat, if I want to eat 1700 calories I need to burn about 400-600 calories/day. Isn't that crazy??? The best part is, the exercise is the best part of my day.

I'd like to touch on something I heard on a weightloss programme whereby surgeons were performing the weight loss operation as you yourself had..... The surgeon made a really interesting point, basically he said its each individuals choice to eat what they wish & be the weight they are, however the body doesn't have a choice & the extra weight impacts so many things......i agree about body positivity & freedom of choice to wear what each individual chooses regardless of weight but I think it's necessary to acknowledge that basically underneath everything is our skeleton that has the lifelong job of supporting us, your still young but had you of maintained your previous weight for another 20+ years your mobility would of been profoundly affected along with many other risk factors.... I think our society makes it so easy to eat anything we want when we want without ever leaving the sofa & the fast food industry is huge, there are quite a number of RU-vidrs that support the body positivity message but it's worrying what effect the weight is doing to them, is far easier when your younger to actually control weight than it is later in life when hormones change & metabolism slows down.....I'm sure you'll succeed in your journey, I wish you luck x

@@duffyellie on the contrary he was basically saying that this operation should not be an option but it has become an option because of our lifestyle, in decades gone by obesity was virtually none existant & yet it has become one of the biggest killers because it promotes the onset of so many debilitating diseases, body positivity maybe should be looked at from another angle, being crippled through ruined joints etc doesn't leave anyone feeling positive in the end

That's so ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 proves that you don't have to be smart to be a doctor
@BeeBee-gi2zr
@BeeBee-gi2zr Год назад
@@Fisklingur whats the ridiculous bit? If you don't agree then ask a medical professional yourself, see if they recommend putting your skeleton under enormous amounts of pressure for years on end & also collecting invisible fat around your organs.... You challenge the intelligence of a doctor but if you think any of the above is OK for your body then it's your intelligence thats questionable... It is what it is & it all depends what kind of life you want, but the surgeons intelligence is definitely not questionable for sure

You sweet girl are looking stunning. You have a twinkle in your beautiful eyes, you smile so much more and you have a little giggle in your voice. And yes this is all from your new found energy, you have a new pep in your step 😊 I know this because I had the "Sleeve" surgery done two years ago. You explained everything in your video to the questions perfectly. I can definitely see the changes in your beautiful face and how the clothes are fitting on you. Keep up the terrific work you are really rocking it. But go slow and healthy. I'll be watching your progress 👏👏👏❤️❤️

Thanks so much for answering the last 2 questions which I had asked on your community page for the Q and A. You were very honest and open and I knew before you answered what your channel message was but I was interested to know more whether you had any negativity within the body positivity movement as I know of a couple of people who have received quite a bit of negativity since they had surgery and revealed it online. I share the same belief that we should all try and strive to love our bodies whatever shape or size they are and I have to say Trina, from the beginning of being a subscriber and following you becoming more accepting and more confident within yourself and seeing you grow over the years has left a positive mark on me. I used to not love my body nor my appearance and due to bullying as a child and as an adult due to my size I felt really down about what I saw in the mirror. But over time and watching you on your RU-vid journey, I started to feel more accepting of my shape and size and to be honest, you have helped me immensely to grow more confident and to love myself and to be happy about who I see in the mirror. I wear dresses now, yes dresses and that's so different from even 3 years ago when I lived in trousers or jogging bottoms and tops and a dress would never be worn by me ever. So I just want to say thank you as you have really improved my self esteem and confidence 100 fold. I am sure others will agree with me that whatever shape or size or weight you are, you are our Trina and we will always support you here xx

Has your Dr talked to you about daily vitamins & b12 injections to prevent pernicious anemia. I had my surgery in 1983. I didn't take vitamins and since I couldn't do dairy anymore, I didn't get my needed calcium. I now have arthritis SO BAD. I went a while w/o doing my b12 injections and it got so low that they couldn't believe I was alive. Your body after the surgery does NOT absorb B12 from food or orally taken b12. Just something to talk to your Dr about if you haven't already. 🤷‍♀️

Hi there, I'm due for the same surgery early 2023, just waiting on a surgery date. I'm curious what your start weight was?
@sandramoore8903
@sandramoore8903 Год назад
When you first have the surgery, it is extremely important to get your body's vitamin and minerals from real food, not processed or junk food. Once you are able to get everything that your body needs from real food, then you can add a very small treat once in a while to satisfy cravings. Those are calories that will end up on your hips and thighs, because your body can't process them as nutrition, so they turn into fat.

Lots of encouragement and really sound-healthy tips and advice from Chuck Carroll, he's known as The Weight Champion and his story is incredible, not only his weight loss surgery, but, his amazing story since then to this day, highly recommend checking him out. Hello Trina-Louise... Bless you and l hope all is well with you. You asked about help with your period once you have had your surgery. You should check out Stella Williams RU-vid channel. She talks about this in detail because she had the same procedure as you. And she had the period problem. Best Wishes. Huge New Fan. 🇺🇲🇺🇲

F&@$ing BMI, we all know it’s crap but those of us with body dysmorphia, eating issues, history of weight loss and gain can’t help referring to it 😭🤦🏻‍♀️
