Hey Ciara, I have some ideas for you to hopefully bring you lots more subscribers bcz I think you can have many more. Sorry for leaving it as a comment wasn't sure how else to send you this I'm not really big on social media. -Big books I wanna read in my life time -My reading taste 5 years ago vs now -Uploading your goodreads unto storygraph (very easy process btw) & seeing their yearly wrap up as they have lots of cool charts & stats -Jess Marino 24 hour readathon so only books he's read or mentioned -gilmore girls checking how many books you've now read (an update to your previous video) -what I used to read as an english lit student vs now -reading 100 pages a day for a week -boyfriend vs girlfriend reading each others picks (you had a similar video before and it was popular perhaps that's how I found u, I honestly can't remember) -books I would've loved to read as a child & reading them now instead -Book recommendations based on your pets (I've never seen this anywhere just thought of it, might be fun. For e.g. Master & Margarita if you have a spooky cat haha idk) Anyways, best of luck with whatever you do in life & sending you positive sunny vibes from Cyprus 💕 🇨🇾

It was definitely realistic for a 16-year-old to be a teacher back then. There was no teenagerhood, just childhood and adulthood, so if you were done with your education, you were expected to get a job and/or marry asap. Education didn't really have age groups at the time either, especially in rural areas, so a kid could start school anytime from 6 to 16 and stay in school until anywhere from 12 (on average for farm kids) to 20 (if they started late). Anne and her friends were hard-working and not needed on family farms, so it isn't surprising that they would leave school at 15. Also, being a teacher wasn't expected to be a lifetime career back then. Most teachers were either men or were unmarried women who would quit once they got married (read: they were super young!).

Laura Ingells Wilder (real person that Little House on the Prairie was based on) was 15 when she became a teacher so that’s realistic of the day.

It's so nice to see you get up to all of these festive adventures. The pre-Christmas time is always very stressful for me, so it's a great reminder to enjoy the stuff I am doing - big and small!

I am always flabbergasted how well and detailed you can describe the Ts and food as well 😁, it’s a pleasure to listen to you also the sprinkles of humor in between . Here too we also only have the freezing cold 🥶 without snow 😬 but sunny . I had some different Ts than yours , so far I have a top 3 … And I do love the Anne of Greengable ,it was also the first book I read in English , years ago , it was a pocketbook from my Mom who was such a booklover . Nothing worse than paying large for something that ends up so disappointing! I'm glad that Greggs ended up saving the day - I've never actually had a Greggs before (we don't have them in Ireland!) but I keep meaning to every time I'm in the UK. Thanks for another lovely Vlogmas video Ciara :)

I love that you’re a fellow swiftie! My favorite from evermore now is one I didn’t even pay attention the first time, which is cowboy like me! For sure, my opinions have changed, but I also consider it one of her best works (hard to pit it against folklore!)

I love your vlogmas so much! Also, I'm reading Anne of Green Gables and really like it! I picked up thanks to adaptation from 80's, recommend it!

I much prefer B&B mulled cider with a bit of apple juice. Or even better, overnight in the fridge and then add the juice When it comes to coffee shop sandwiches, my fav is Caffe Nero. They do quite a nice vegan festive panini, the raspberry croissant is also nice (I'm not vegan but also not the biggest fan of turkey or meat in general on sandwiches most of the time)

I love how detailed you go with the TS analysis. The Folklore/Evermore era will always have my heart, I think, even though I love Midnights too. From Evermore my fav songs are similar to you - champagne problems, 'tis the damn season, happiness and tolerate it. I think it's my second fav album of all time - it's trumped only by her older sister :D

So if I even had a goal as a child, it was to land myself in a life where I got to swim every single day. And... I pretty much did! So, while yes, some mornings in the wee hours in the New England COLD and dark I do feel the pull of my covers, I remember... "I get to swim today!" Glad you got to have a good one. Wish wish wish I had a sauna at the pool, but no.

I once was left speechless looking at the bill for a burger and chips in a cafe/fast food establishment,where the receipt informed me "you have been hosted by..."😂Another time while watching a football match in a bar with a friend I invited a gentleman who was standing nearby to join us,for which he was quite grateful,until I bought him a beer.After tasting it he looked at me quizzically as if I were trying to poison him.I duly tasted said beverage and indeed it must have been lying around somewhere in the bar for a day and a half.🧐💝

Paying too much for holiday snacks may be worse than receiving stale or watered-down products, but of course when you get both together, well, that just makes the day complete! Anyway, everything is bigger and tastes better in memory. I suspect that when young people receive utterly disappointing holiday fare they simply neglect to file it away in long-term memory, and as they age it seems like everything was nearly perfect back in the day.

I’m pretty sure 16 was normal for young women to become teachers in the late 1800s because they worked until they got married and then usually stopped I believe?? So that was happening pretty early
