You might very well be aware of Dimash Kudaibergen, the super gifted 27 year old vocalist from Kazakhstan. Many, many vocal coaches, opera singers and other musicians have done reaction videos on some of his performances, and I have seen many of these.
I really wanted to do an analysis of his singing as well, so decided to go with a lesser 'done' performance. When I discovered he did a cover of Queen's "The show must go on", I thought it would be really interesting to see what he does with a classic rock song from the early 90's.
Please enjoy this with me, and let me know what YOU think!

Interesting comments from all the loyal fans. However, from a vocal coaching perspective, i find your comments very valuable. You create awareness of what cán go wrong during a vocal performance and what to focus on when singing. Keep it up!!

I came back to see this a second time in case I had misjudged for my comment. The fact that of all the comments below this is the one you chose to pin is telling. Many people gave detailed, knowledgeable answers, which means they engaged with you and put time in because they care. However any that even hinted a criticism of you were ignored. You answered only the people who told you how marvellous you are, what a brilliant reactor you are. And of those feeding your ego? The one comment that sends your reflection back to you is the one you pin. The one that appears to join with you in trivialising and dismissing anyone who is a fan. ‘Interesting comments from all the loyal fans’ is the first sentence anyone now sees here, being endorsed by you. The fact that this opening is only followed by compliments about yourself says it all. There is no genuine exchange about those comments, just that faint sense of derision. I would try to get you to understand how offensively you’re coming across, but I know narcissism when I see it, so that’s pointless. Don’t sully Dimash’s work if you are unable to appreciate it. It has its flaws, but that reaction was all about you.

So you need a "Vocal Coach" to tell you that singing a song with bad pronunciation is BAD. And can be considered something "Wrong". Ok. I, (and the majority of the other viewers) could figure that out by myself. I really did not find this condescending reaction very helpful or enjoyable. The "reactor" said it best himself though. This whole reaction was just not "necessary". Dimash and his fans have moved on from the pronunciation of his English songs from 4 years ago.

@@crystalborne8315 I think we are giving this man a little too much of our attention. He obviously has his opinions. And has the right to express them. But as I have said in other comments. The premise of THIS particular reaction is so "Yesterday". Dimash and his fans have moved on way past his pronunciation issues from 4 years ago. His analysis and comments just seem irrelevant.

This was the FIRST TIME EVER he sang in English. He learned the song phonetically in 5 days then went out there in front of billions of viewers and slayed it. It’s a phenomenal achievement. This was four years ago and his English is now getting to fluent and is totally understandable. Lastly, he’s got to wow the audience to progress in the competition. You chopped the song by stopping so often you couldn’t feel it’s power. I think your criticisms are odd. Why would you make a song less Interesting in a competition? The Chinese love the high singing as a culture and Dimash knew that, of course he’s going to utilise his unique skill set. I think you are guilty of viewing the whole presentation through a narrow European lens of what is and is not acceptable. It’s clear you also know your views are going to be unpopular and are relishing that. You said he didn’t pull off the song, and that it was over the top dramatic. You are the first person I’ve ever heard say that, and Brian May himself disagrees with you. Freddie never held back with the drama! It’s obvious that Dimash can not be everyone’s cup of tea, however, there is a distinction between personal preference and technical achievement that a reviewer should be able to make. You come across as wanting to shut off the parts that you judge to be too feminine, as if they make you uncomfortable. Maybe consider if you have a subconscious bias at play. Lastly, your last comment about listening more intelligently is so patronising. Hard-core vocal coaches the world over rave about the technical skill, the creativity, the dedication AND his astonishing ability to hit you in the feels. These things are ALL part of what makes a performance great. You dissected it so much, it died. Dimash’s fan base are not a bunch of screaming teenagers getting carried away. They are a full cross-section of age, gender, nationality, culture, intelligence and musical acuity. He has a global following which includes highly skilled voice analysts, most of whom would disagree with your analysis. In short, your review is one-dimensional, self-opinionated and of dubious value. And I wouldn’t be surprised if your entire comment section is filled with similarly dismayed Dears.

If you watch the first episode of the Singer, the show producers specifically warned Dimash that he needed to make the 500 member audience/judges stand up and go crazy each time he sang if he wanted a chance to stay in the competition. And that is exactly what he did and he did it beautifully. Just remember he was going against long established professional star singers as an unknown. He also had to follow the theme for the week. He couldn't just sing anything he wanted. And, almost all of the songs had to be covers of world hits.

Musically speaking, Dimash is in another world from the rest of the well known singers, regardless of language barriers. I wonder how you would sound if i provide you with a song in chinese and ask you to perform it live in 5 days and in front of an audience of singers. Would you be able to sing the song in perfect chinese or would you have the same problem Dimash had? When judging others, pespective is always a good tool to use.

No offence intended but I have to disagree. Most of Dimash's fans are not waiting for the fireworks. His skill in all ranges are appreciated. There are many of Dimash's songs that don't contain vocal acrobatics but still contain the emotion and technical skill that the "firework" songs have. Be well.
@RedCnMn

I honestly don’t really care for most of his music (except for the newer ones) because it’s never been my taste, but still listened to his performances on RU-vid because of his voice only. His new songs however have been more on the poppy side which is more of my genre.
@MaryA-qj8tx
@MaryA-qj8tx 3 года назад
When I first heard this cover by Dimash I had the same thoughts as you about the pronunciation and the vocal acrobatics. I changed my mind later, however, when I received more context (which a reactor will not know right away). The song choice was not his and he had to learn it phonetically in 5 days or so (and from whom, I wonder?). Second, I learned later that as a youngster, he tended towards the higher range and that's most comfortable for him to express his emotions. So it's not so much showing off as it is his nature (of course the rest of us don't express that way naturally so he sounds like he's showing off). I remember him saying at an interview that he tried to lower his voice as a youngster but couldn't do so very well and he's gotten so much flack throughout the years because of that yet people never thought that his range naturally fell in the higher registers and that it is more difficult for him to lower than to go higher. Third, as someone who had to learn English, he was pronouncing certain words the way they were spelled. For example, heartache was pronounced heart-aych (hard ch) which comes from reading the word. Also, "guess" was pronounced gu-wess, which happens if you pronounce the U the way it is said in "put" followed by an E, which we would make "guess" sound like gu-wess rather than "gess". These are normal when learning it for the first time because English is not always said the way it is spelled. Fourth, I disagree that the emotional interpretation should be different. Freddie sang the song the way HE felt. I tried to put myself in Dimash's shoes, trying to interpret a song of someone dying who wanted to tell people that the show must go on. I would feel a certain desperation and urgency (feeling like I'm running out of time to say what's important), a need to state in strong declarative terms that they need to continue on even without me. There'd be no time to clarify later; this is it, the last chance to give an unambiguous message, perhaps my last message to everyone. So yes, I might even have to do it, panting, with the strongest push I can muster --- Show! Must! Goooooo! Ooooon! That feeling of desperation and urgency is different from Freddie's rendition which sounded closer to a resignation or a closing. Both renditions make sense to me. Given all of the above and my own growth as a listener who finally got the context, I think Dimash nailed the song both artistically and emotionally. Ofcourse I speak from my own lens only.

The fact is that this was a competition, and as such, required that one went all out to impress the judges (in this case-the Audience). At the time, Dimash spoke little English beyond the rudimentary pleasantries of “Hello and Thank You!” Contestants on the show were all established professional singers in China. They were assigned these songs and given a week to learn and to perform them. Dimash used IPA to learn the song. Since then, Dimash’s English has improved tremendously. Listen to his latest stuff such as “Wish I Could Leave”, or “Across Endless Dimensions” and you will note a dramatic improvement. Remember that he sings using Bel Canto and as such is limited with his vowels. Given the constraints he was under, I think he did a damn good job!!

In 2017 when he performed this song in English, he did not know the language. In a contest you have a week to prepare each topic and that time is too short to debug a language that is not your mother tongue. Even so, he dared to sing it and the result was magnificent. 4 years have passed and Dimash has remarkably improved his English and all the languages that she uses in her songs other than Kazakh and Russian. You should hear the latest performances that English-speaking fans say approve of. It must be very difficult to sing in 12 languages !! Now he is improving Mandarin Chinese because he has many interpretations in this difficult language. I must add that many of the youtubers pay attention to Dimash's English, but hardly anyone is able to pronounce his name correctly. If you had to learn a song in Kazakh or Russian in a week, would you do it right?

That was my whole point and it has nothing to do with what the reactor said in particular. I am a Dimash fan since 2017 and I am very aware of Dimash fandom. Some of us may become over sensitive when it comes to Dimash. I do defend some reactors sometimes, who receive any form of backlash from their rection to Dimash but you know what? Its pointless at this point. Eventually, slowly, I come to the conclusion that reactors have to accept that the moment they decide to comment on any particular artist, they have to be prepared to what people are going to say in the comment section because wether they like it or not, the ones who are going to watch and become interested in those reactions are usually those people who are fans of those artists. Dimash doesn't fill stadiums around the world. He would fill up a stadium in Kazakhstan yes as he would be a household name in his home country but he is not a household name in other parts of the world especially in the Western world. In New York City you said the stadium was packed that is a lie. In NYC he performed at Barclays Center in Brooklyn....it is not a stadium.....it is an arena with a full concert capacity of 17,000. Stadiums have a full audience capacity of over 60,000 depending on how big the stadium is. Dimash is only big on RU-vid/internet in the West not on radio, TV or other more traditional mainstream media. He is considered a little above than merely somewhat obscure. His songs don't chart and he doesn't perform at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden in New York.....not even for one night only let alone multiple nights in a row. His musical style is not considered mainstream or commercial meaning the general masses cannot access it easily or consume it without an acquired taste like icons of popular music in the past such as Elvis, Tom Jones, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin etc. Your fanaticism and zeal for fangirling over Dimash has blurred your objective perception and judgement leading to very serious misinformation in your post.

I believe Dimash is using his highest notes to express his feelings, not to show off. But that’s my opinion. Besides, this is a show/contest and the Chinese looooove his high range. He released several songs where he doesn’t go into those high notes. Maybe you prefer those, like Salmaltau at the Jazz festival. And like others allready explained, he couldn’t speak English and I understand from other vocal coaches that English (the vowels) is for certain other native languages very difficult to learn. Like for me as a Dutch woman learning German or English is relatively easy. But to lead Russian or Chinese is so difficult. Some DEARS ( Dimash Fans ) can be very sensitive to constructive critique so I don't let that bother me, nor should you. This is a review channel. That said, I think you let the biggest flaw in this performance ( pronunciation) throw you off course of the bigger picture. Dimash speaks 3 languages and sings in 12. Most of them flawless. He was 23 here and competing against the best professional Chinese singers. I can't even imagine that happening in the western world other than the Grammys where the winner is predetermined and snobs abound.. As a professional myself with better than 30 years in the business, I must protest that you hopefully do not teach. Dimash understands the importance of conveying the real story of music through performance. His total commitment to the story in appearance, dress, body language, and emotion is like a mini-opera. Or a Popera if you like. His intense operatic, blues, jazz, folk, world, and pop music training are all elements within the story. Every performance is a work of art.

It's important to realize that, at the time of that competition, his actual English was limited to a basic Hello and Thank You (most of the rest learned by ear)... He has since been learning both English and Mandarin (and has done a number of interviews speaking English)... Granted there were a number of mispronunciations, but he still captured and conveyed the intention of the song -- plus, as a huge Queen fan as he grew up, rather than signing a song in a language more in his comfort zone, he likes to pay homage to the groups, musicians, and singers that inspired him [regardless of the risk that it could knock him out of the competition]... One additional note: Brian May was extremely impressed and pleased with the performance 😉

Hey, stop trying to bait ire from the more sensitive dears. You're coming across as rude and condecending which is a real turn off. Respect begets respect. It's important to put this performance into perspective. As you know this was a competition. He was 22 and singing in English for the first time (a language he did not speak). Kazakh and Russian, the two languages he does speak fluently, are structurally dramatically different than English making this feat especially challenging. He had less than a week to arrange the song, learn the lyrics, and perform it before a studio audience of 500 ppl and a television audience of 1.5 billion viewers. He was instructed to make his performances dramatic to catch the Chinese audiences attention (not sure what this looks like culturally but I am guessing they like drama based upon his success against seasoned professional Chinese singers). I find it very impressive that he managed to get as much correct as he did. The pressure must have been unimaginable. I try and cut him a bit of slack for these performances. i have to agree that many of the performances from the Singer show are over the top. He has grown artistically and his English is much better Still not perfect but I am okay with this as I live in a multicultural globe where tolerance is important for peace and understanding. Have a look his performances outside of that setting and you will find that he is definitely not all about vocal fireworks but rather about what he feels the song needs. The song always comes first.

Please excuse that I am responding for a second time. I forgot something salient. Dimash basically did not speak English at the time of this performance and he has a strong accent (which would sound like mispronouncing). However, my view is that his fan base are composed largely of non-native English speakers and non-English speakers. Therefore, to his fans, there is a great understanding, empathy, and tolerance that he doesn't speak English perfectly. Why? Because we could easily find ourselves in that situation. I know that when I try to sing a Mariah Carey song or Ariana Grande, I am left guessing at what the words are and end up mouthing words that I think sound like the words they are saying. For native English-speakers who are dears, we have learned to understand Dimash's brand of English; our ears have learned to attune to hearing English in a different cadence. I really learned a lot by being part of the dears community, not the least of which is about my role as a listener; that a performance requires not only the performers' efforts, emotion, and technicality, but also the listeners' ability to be open to what the performer is offering, the context under which the performance is taking place, to be flexible, and to see possibility. Before this community, I was a passive listener, waiting for the performer to give me gems. Now, I realized that if I don't also work on my ability to sense the gems, I wouldn't necessarily recognize them, to see the relative level of difficulty, or to see the potential in the performance. So, as Dimash continues to work on his craft, I continue to work on my role as his listener, to continue working on understanding context, on suspending judgement, and to listen with compassion. I do this because I am grateful to Dimash. His performances alone allowed me a window into many other cultures -- to realize the depth of feeling and significance wrapped in another language, and to understand that other people "not-like-me" feel profoundly, just like me. The first time I learned a cover by Dimash, it was in Ukrainian. The second time was in Mandarin, the third in Kazakh. Never in my life would I have even attempted to try those languages in singing, nevermind trying to understand the people behind the languages. Since Dimash, I have made friends from all over the world. Thanks again for listening/reading. The above are just my views and are not meant to represent the views of other fans.

That was in 2017, he only knew 3 or 4 words in english... I would like to see an english or american singer (who daily "murder" their own language) go to China and sing a song chosen by the production, never singed before, in Kasakh or Russian and practice in 5 days (among other duties) and still do win...would YOU do it?.. that would be something to see... (8D Dimash speaks fluently Russian other then that, only in operatic pieces in french, spanish, italian and german... One of the best songs in that contest were singed in Chinese... I think they know the language... don't you? In 2019 his 1st album 'ID' was platinum in 37 seconds and 3x platinum in 1 hour in China. First episode "I'm a Singer" with more then 600 million views at SOS, and 80 million followers on Weibo. Here he even made a rocked cry similar to those of Freddie... but is he's interpretation, not the Queen. P.S. the last high crescendo note was a reference to the "fly to heaven" of Freddie Mercury...) All Dimash's songs and performing gestures has a message, a symbol in it... like in SOS at Slavic Bazaar, he balanced that arm in the end (and with better frensh), here he shout to haven... both were about death... could be exaggerated? may be, but for that you have to study Dimash, know better he's background, observe and see more, much more... keep going and take notes... you'll need it.

Back in 2017 Dimash spoke no English, in this Chinese show he had to sing in different categories for each round so he learned this phonetically from probably a Chinese English speaker. So don't be so hard on 22 year old Dimash. He studied English after this and now speaks very well so try some more recent songs and you will see he is way, way better. I am sure your Kazakh pronunciation isn't up to scratch either, so please understand he did his best here. At the same show he had a week to learn a Mandarin sing, in that week he flew to Kazakhstan for a performance at a huge event, he flew back to China for tv appearances and also kept up with his University studies and then performed the Chinese Mandarin song perfectly. He is a workaholic perfectionist and will do everything he can to please his audience. We know his pronunciation was not up to scratch but we love him and understand the difficulties he goes through and we don't mind his small slip ups. It was only a few words the rest of the song was pretty perfect. 😍

the famous statement: "u see the glass with water, half empty" would fit u perfectly I know this was 2 years ago, when u had more hair, but I thought I'll give my $0.02 cents worth. at the beginning u correctly identified he was in Chinese talent show. but u didn't do u do diligent. the show was 12 grueling consecutive weeks, every week the artist must prepare to perform a song the event was in China 1000s of miles away from Dimash's home. He did not speak English & did not speak Chinese. side note: he has been studying English & he can converse now, & continue improving so anything he needed to do to prep for the song, he had to ask an interpreter Chinese managers, at that time, put every hurdle possible in front of him -bc they knew they didn't have talents to match him... every 2-3 weeks or so, they brought a New wild-card pro singer... the management had no answer to Dimash...little that they knew, the event grew folds bc of Dimash Chinese People loved him. they were the first of "Dear-Army" for Dimash. Managers didn't want non-Chinese to win a Chinese huge talent show that span all of Asia. as a matter of fact, after their embarrassment of giving him 3rd place... the year after, 2018, invited Jesse J for the event. She's pro & she sang in English only... they gave her 1st place 10 out of 12 weeks, one week she got sick & had to fly out to London. there were no doubt she was gonna win to tell the world: see...we are not prejudice. referring to management of the talent show Chinese people in general are very nice & kind. there are letters in Kazakhstan u can't even pronounce, let along sing in it where the native would understand u...covering Kazakh famous singer back to the song... Dimash, if u follow him, he Never sings it like the original, he makes it his own & takes it to masterpiece first before singing it, of course giving him time... look what he did to the SOS cover...no comparison to anyone who sang it before him, original or otherwise. Now, those who cover SOS, uses Dimash's rendition. the problem is the interpreters themselves are Kazakhstan speaking individuals. they themselves have huge accent that's what he had to deal with & didn't know any better... it's a shame, as a vocal coach, (notice what's in your title..."VOCAL") u didn't analyze his vocal. there are so much from breathy to chest to head voices that u missed... I say, start working on ur craft first

I always enjoy finding someone new that is reacting to Dimash. I accept your opinions as far as musical or vocal choices and how you might disagree with them or wish different choices had been made. However, shame on you for shaming him because his English wasn't up to your standards especially knowing that English is certainly not his native language. Outside of a few cursory phrases that everyone learns in a new language he didn't speak English at all at the time of this performance.. Since you are a fan of Dimash's I'm surprised you're not aware that over the last four years he has actively been working on improving his English and has done a rather impressive job of it so far. He is able to speak English much better than before and in his most recent English lyric videos he has gotten much better. Perhaps you will agree with this if you listen to his recent release of the live version of Across Endless Dimensions. It isn't perfect but it's good enough that you really don't need the closed captions to understand him.

👉 ...and Freddy plays the harp and smiles down from his cloud. 🌼🇩🇪 👉 In 2017 Dimash received a wild-card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant of all time (22 years) and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part. Nobody knew or hear Dimash before and he also had to start first... and after the song S.O.S. Dimash captured the hearts of millions of viewers overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood at his door. "The show must go on" was the 3th song at the competition and he made it to his own... grandios. The competition consisted of 14 rounds, over 4 months. The jury consists of 500 spectators. With up to 1 billion people see this tv-program, that's generated international interest. The performances were uploaded to RU-vid... and so, we became Dimash’s Dears. The Chinese organizers planned that Dimash would survive two episodes of the competition and go home again. They didn't really believe in him. But Dimash came, sang and stayed... for the next 3 years in China... but he only finished second in the competition because he's not Chinese (conditions have changed: The next year, Jessie J. won).🌼🇩🇪

The guy said that Dimash lures the audience. She replied, " Of course, he's very handsome." When Dimash was asked to enter this competition, he only spoke Kazakh and Russian. This was his first attempt to sing in English, with only one week to learn the song. His first four songs were in French, Russian, English, and Mandarin. By the way, Brian May said Freddy Mercury would have been proud. You are the ONLY reactor who has ever criticized Dimash's imperfect English. Everyone knows his English wasn't that great, but his voice was. Those who can't....teach. The producers of the show provided the song choices and what Dimash was to wear. Would you have been so critical of his Russian or Mandarin pronunciations? Like many others, I had no trouble with this song and its pronunciation because I knew that English, as well as Mandarin, was not even his fourth or fifth language. I wouldn't know if he made errors in any of the other 14 languages he sings..." and frankly my dear, I don't give a damn". I borrowed that line from Clark Gable in Gone With The Wind.

This is 2023, and he's quite obviously gotten much, much better with his English pronunciations. He was only 22 at the time of this performance, and yet could sing in 12 different languages. Does that explain a bit for you? And, yes, the vast majority of people can understand what he's singing. The "N" can just barely be heard, as he pulls the mic away a bit to far. Of the hundred or more singers and vocal coaches I've seen critique his songs, why is it that you're the only one with such petty gripes? He made this version of the song his, and chose to not just do a cover. For what it's worth, Brian May was extremely impressed with this version.

Dimash - Thousand Miles Common Dream Dimash - Amanat Dimash - The Crown Those 3, your opinion changed forever. This man is on a whole different level, he picks and chooses what he wants whenever he wants, every register from low to whistle. He is insanely musically gifted with over 20 years of Classical Training experience in only 27 of life. The 3 songs I recommended are insanely hard to sing and showcase how contained he can be if the setting is meant to be a contained one. These 3 ain't even my all time favorites, just 3 that a Vocal Coach would be really impressed at the riffs / flourishes and vocal register shifts/transitions done flawlessly unlike anyone in the World. Dimash's Home field is in Eastern Music, I'd say he does well in Pop Music but it doesn't really suit him, but in ballads with melisma and quick onsets and offsets of vibrato he is World Class Tier.

This was over 4 years ago, dimash speaks Kazakh and like with other languages the pronunciation of everything is different from english and he didn't speak much English at that time, its like trying to get an english speaker to learn mandarin or spanish in a short time frame and be able to speak it fluently and simg in said language.

the awsome part of his mispronunciation is that he didn't even speak english at that time, he had a week to learn the lyrics phonetically.

Geniet jou naweek.

Wow, who would have thought an honest opinion from a trained vocal coach would upset so many people. If you cannot handle someones opinion on the internet, you're probably not mature enough to be on the internet. What I also cannot understand is he mentions multiple times in the video how much respect he has for Dimash, and how much of a fan he is of Dimash, and yet all these Dimash groupies seem to ignore that and just want to attack him because he said a few negative things? Grow up people, the majority of his opinion in this video is praising Dimash for how talented he is...

Those people's comments are also called their own opinions. If this vocal coach cannot handle the viewers' opinions, he should probably not be online putting out videos. How would pointing out the pronunciation repeatly when Dimash had only one week to prepare to perform the song within a week not stupid? If he is actually a fan, he should've known better. Also, this guy calls himself a vocal coach and where is actual vocal coach analysis here? Even without bashing pronunciation in a condescending tone, his reaction was subpar.

To be fair, you did say some positive things about Dimash's singing, for example: "He's masterfully emotive, has mastery over his instrument, his control is absolutely spectacular, he's capable of drawing one in, makes people want to listen, and can do what very few singers can do." In spite of all that, you were put off by Dimash's English pronunciation. Maybe you would have been more tolerant if you had known: 1. Dimash speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently but, English not so much and was pretty much limited to understanding and answering, "What's your name?" (He mentioned this in an interview). 2. The show's producer chose the "Queen" song, not Dimash. In fact, it was the first time he sang an English song, ever, during a singing competition. 3. He had ONE week to learn and memorize the melody and words (including pronunciation), tempo, practice(s) with orchestra and backup singers, costume decisions and fittings, and interviews. Granted a FEW reactors have trouble with Dimash's pronunciation, but the overwhelming majority, including we, his International ❤️DEARs❤️, love and appreciate everything about him.

Sure. He barely spoke English when he sang this song. I don't need an "Expert" to point that out to me. Your analysis seems petty to me too. It also misses the mark, by not even understanding the premise of the situation in which it was performed. Dimash was there to impress the judges with his vocal ability. (Showing Off.... on PURPOSE) Something he did, to an unprecedented extent. Becoming a Superstar overnight. So mission accomplished Dimash. The fact that you are unimpressed 4 years later is beyond insignificant. Your video is also a bit "bait and switch". Your intro exclaims what a gifted singer Dimash is and then your analysis focus' on his shortcomings. (In both "style " and "arrangement") Your choice. But not very "Sporting". You have made a mark in the Dimash "World" though. But not necessarily in a good way. I personally don't think this whole reaction was "Necessary". (so to speak) Good luck though. I completely did enjoy your semi-condescending style.

I totally agree! I feel like I’m listening to an English teacher who is specializing in the English language and it’s correct pronunciation! So I’m not impressed with this reaction but am still highly impressed with Dimash, despite him mis pronouncing some words throughout the song. I personally liked Dimash’s version better than Queens and I love and respect Queen. To me ,it’s obvious how this reactor feels about Dimash and his performance, and of course it is his opinion, but I also have mine. It appeared to me, that he was looking for flaws and continued to critic Dimash 99% of the time and yet still claims to be a Dimash fan. I’m having a hard time believing that he is. Geesh, if you have so much to critique or criticism about an artist, I don’t know how than one can be a so called fan. Respect and Peace always.✌️

@@ceceliaoliveira4550 I don't think he was being "sinister". And I do believe that his criticisms were heartfelt. They just have no significance on Dimash as a performer in 2021. It seems "too easy" to bring up bad pronunciation and "Vocal Gymnastics" in this reaction. To me this is all "Water under the bridge" and just seems a little like "forced edginess". But, hey I give him credit for putting himself out there to be scrutinized by Dimash's HUGE fan base. Very Brave.

Joe Vece Hi Joe, I understand your point of view, but he certainly did not convey that to me. To claim that he respects Dimash and criticizes him 99% of the performance is definitely beyond cynical. It appeared to me in a sense, that he was actually having the pleasure in critiques. I totally understand what critique is as I’ve competed in front of judges many times, and if I might add, I can handle it well. To me this was some what bashing or belittling Dimash all together. It’s totally understandable that someone may have not liked Dimash’s performance or even his vocals, but he also commented on his other performances as well, according to my recollection. My opinion is that, I sincerely do not think Dimash would be so very well known and enjoyed by so many in the world, if Dimash’s performance was the way he intrepid it! Well again, we all have our own opinion. He expressed his and I’ve just expressed mine! Peace, love and respect always.✌️

The reactor is entitled to his opinion, it's great that he's honest; but the viewers are also entitled to their opinion of the reaction. Why on earth should I not comment my disagreement/agreement or whatever opinion I have in any video? If a youtuber can't take criticism from his viewers, he shouldn't criticize anyone
@RedCnMn
@RedCnMn 3 года назад
@@MsLucy4ever I'm only answering to you because you stayed polite. I was only doing that because they were not just disagreeing with him. They first listed all the things why Dimash is "The greatest singer in this universe right now". Like saying he trained all his life, he plays lots of instruments, sings in lots of languages and stuff. Of course this is impressive and the reactor will probably acknowledge this too. But the point he was making was focusing only on his diction/how well he is speaking the language. Now if you are completely new to dimash and there are no subtitles, it's pretty hard sometimes to understand what he is singing and this can kinda ruin the experience for some people. So I did not try to spread hatred. I wanted to convey that you can't bring facts to the table that have nothing to do with the opinion/criticism the reactor is communicating. For real fans it must feel like an attack to them when someone says something critical about Dimash. They could just disagree with him and maybe recommend other videos where you can see that Dimash has improved (like some people did under this video) I don't need you to agree with that, but I hope that you understand the point I'm trying to make. But anyways, I guess it wasn't really mature that I posted this under multiple comments and you are right with that.

I get also that this can ruin the experience for some people. Is it bad to inform the reactor that this was not a song he chose, and that he was not singing to English speaking people, but to Chinese who where there to judge his vocals and not his English diction? Anyway, I get your intention. And didn't mind the whole essay, it was interesting. :-)
