You are the ONLY Vocal Coach who doesn't play a song for a few seconds, talks for ages, Plays the song for a few seconds talks for ages etc. I MUCH prefer your Reactions. She sings My Way, Her Way.🧸
First of all, thank you for your unbroken playback of the artist's performance. Very rare. When Sydnie took the stage, she had me. Her effervescent personality, the humorous banter with the judges. But, when the music began she was all serious - in a great way. Her facial moves, her clarity and the range of her voice was breathtaking! Then, she got the comments and responded appropriately...then, the golden buzzer. I thought, for a second, we had lost her when she went down. She turned into a child in a candy store, or a child who just received a pony. Unbelievable raw and unpretentious reaction. The irony was the buffer music was Loren Allred singing "Over The Rainbow," which is the version Sydnie chose for her finale. I suppose you know the outcome of the show. She earned and deserved all the comments offered, and then some. Beautiful!
Very much enjoyed your reaction. I am looking forward to your reactions to her covers of "My Way" in the semi-finals and "Over The Rainbow" in the finals! Thanks so much!
Thank you for sharing your delight with Sydnie Christmas now you've found out about her audition: she certainly had vocal training for the next song, "My Way," with the coach who worked with her at the BGT. She said, on the breakfast TV afterwards (that is also on youtube, still), that her vocal studies after high school were perfected by this coach. This tune Sydnie adapted very well from the cover of Marisha Wallace, from 4 years ago during the lockdown, in London: Marisha is now also a fan of Sydnie. The background "Over the Rainbow" during the applause in this video, is by Loren Allred, of "Never Enough": Loren had to persuade Sydnie, with a video message, to adapt this cover for her own song in the BGT final. Afterwards, Loren called it "our" song. For ten years Sydnie had been trying to find work in London's West End, without any luck, though she did find a bit of other work, abroad. This BGT was her last try to establish her career. Please look at her other two songs as soon as you can!
The BEST commentary I've seen about Sydnie. You sat there and listened to the entire thing and THEN added your comments. You were the only I saw do that and I've seen a few because I LOVE Sydnie! Excellent job, Dounia!
Great professional reaction. Thanks for not pausing throughout and analysing at the end of the song. Unlike other vocal coaches that pause ten times throughout and completely spoil the true reactions to songs. Please react to "Lewis Capaldi - Wish You The Best (Official Video)." This is a fantastic song with great lyrics from a truly talented artist with such a beautiful, unique and outstanding voice. This video is for sure a tear jerker, so you will need your tissues. Keep up the great work.
I appreciate that you did not stop after every few words to comment on some vocal technique and you watched through. Sydnie's singing is greater than the sum of the notes. You feel the story every single time you listen.
@@DouniaRaphael Love your reactions after the songs,,, Bring in Faouzia soon too... Love your good kind eyes when you like what you listen to... Kisses Delle in Sweden
@@DouniaRaphael Are you sure you are from Lebanon? You look like an Arab princess, but with some blood from Kurdistan. In any case, I enjoy the fact that you both listen with your ears and a lot with your eyes, these cannot be fooled in any way. They are beautiful too. Hugs Delle in Sweden
Loved how you just listened and watched the intire show, then your reaction... Best ever ... please do her version of My Way and Over the Rainbow!! Thank you! I never get tired listening to Sydnie everyday..A huge fan of Sydnie and now you too!❤
I really love your reaction to this video. I love the way you watched it through without stopping first, then went through it again with your comments. I am a huge fan of Sydnie and I very much look forward to your reaction to her singing My Way. It’s quite different.
She made a few lyric changes ("only" to "always") that turned the song from a childhood paen of optimism to a powerful hymn of adult angst. And the voice delivered it with heartful power.
What a delight you are Dounia, very well done. I love the fact that you don't interrupt before critiquing/commenting, we see the full effect of your reaction as it was for us...full length and uninterrupted. This performance was a show stopper (and she went on to win), saw it the night it was first on. Really must say, you really are a very attractive woman. (Did you do a reaction to Emma Kok's Voi La?)
Greetings from Brazil! Very nice reaction. The way you do without interrupting every moment and analysing in the end is perfect. Looking forward to the next ones!
Thankyou for your reaction. Not interrupting and appreciating the whole performance is what I like. Fell in love with Sydnie after this performance. To me she has a voice like Shirley Bassey, but is the opposite of a Diva. Her personality is amazing and infectious. Her version of My Way next is amazing. I love Sinatra's version, but I actually love her version more
i have probably seen hundreds of versions of Sydnie singing and I cannot get enough of her! what is that about? for me, its like divinity comes through her voice and personality. Wow..Wow...Wow!!!
Nice reaction. Since you already know what her next 2 songs are based on other comments, I’ll just say Sydnie mesmerized everyone who heard her, and has had some experience in performing in 2 plays and on cruise ship shows. This arrangement was originally sung by Marisha Wallace 4 years ago as a fundraiser when all the theaters were closed due to COVID. But Sydnie took it to another level.
She is so quirky and fun. A lot of potential to be great. Lets see what she does over the next few years. I am greatful you dont stop all the time and critique. Thank you I agree about the time frame of the song. Shes artistic in her approach
How is it possible not to fall in love instantly with this girl ? She touched my soul in the first 15 seconds. And i didnt expect it. Whenever i want to get a break, i watch her performance.
I too really enjoy Sydney. But im glad someone mentioned Angelina Jordan. If you havent heard her, you need to, because she will be a household name in the not to distant future. She won Norways Got Talent at 8 y.o., gathering 46% of the vote for 10 finalists. To knock your socks off, watch her I put A Spell on You, at 9 y.o., the black and white version only. Then there are 200 other MASTERPIECES, no lie, on her channel or youtube, including her newest Bad Valentine, which hasn't been officially released yet, on yt, where she's 18, where she displays the power you would never expect from one so young. In between ages 7 and 18, watch her literally grow up with a selection of hers i recommend: Feeling Good at 10y.o., at an inside concert, its a mans world, at 12 I believe , with full orchestra, Her own Million Miles, which she wrote after losing her grandpa, her own version of Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT the Champions, at 13y.o., where Queen members were so impressed they gave her the copyright! Others include Unchained Melody, at the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize concert, at 17y.o. far more moving than the popular version, and You Say, which is in my top 5 of her songs, sung at an online christmas concert, at 15 where she was backed by some of the most celebrated musicians in the business. And those are just the beginning of a once in a lifetime artist! Her fans she calls Angels, and she has millions, many of whom will flock to your channel if you begin to react to her. They are extremely loyal! One final thought: one reason she is so well loved is because she treats each song as a unique experience to share with her audience. She never belts just for the sake of it. She tells the story of the song in a manner befitting the overall meaning and intent of the composer. That is never better shown than in her treatment at 12, of California Dreaming, with just a guitar accompanying her. You get to hear and FEEL the true meaning of the song. And i LOVED the original version, but this was genius, as she very frequently exhibits in most of her covers, which IMPROVE on the originals. She sings all genres, except opera. I like your style, and dubbed.
Great job Dounia. I love the fact that you had the respect to watch the video all the way through without pausing and commenting. 'My Way' was my fav song Sydney sang in the semi final. Thank you❤
I absolutely LOVE getting to watch your whole reaction before the analysis. I can see you’re feeling what I felt and it’s so fun to watch it in real time. I really like getting to hear the opinion after the performance!!
I'm pretty much a fan of Sydnie Christmas by now and love to hear vocal coaches reactions. Next song is My Way in the semifinals of Britain's Got Talent. I thin she's at her best in that performance. At the time she was lead by one of the best vocal coaches in the UK as the show assigned her to the singers. So I'm curious to know what you think.
Dounia, thank you for listening to the entire performance, in real time, before making any comment. Your critique was spot on, and if you take the reverb off of your voice, we could hear the nuances in your speaking voice, which is very musical. Thank you…….i’ll be back
I really like your style of review! I enjoyed seeing you show your emotion watching the first time. I am not a singer, but I feel that you are probably an incredible voice coach! Keep up the good work!
Спасибо за прекрасную реакцию, она очень стильная.) Вы красивая женщина, слушать Вас и наблюдать за Вами очень приятно.Появляйтесь с реакциями почаще.)
Thank you for this reaction. Please react to her Semi-Final & Grand Final performances in that order. She will all the more amaze you as she amazed us.
Thank you Dounia for not stopping the performance and giving your opinio, like others I’ve watched in the past, you allowed the moment to endure our thoughts, of your admiration of the moment! 🙏 for that, I’ve subscribed!
This is very well done, and a nice review. There is a singer named Angelina Jordan, IMO is the best talent on the planet. She is 18 and has her own songs, and she is old school. You will love her at 18 years old. 200+ covers. Best wishes to you
Good, I'm not the only one who teared up. Listen to Sydnie's and Loren Allred's version of Over the Rainbow. Only two artist who have ever made me tear up😊
Dear Dounia, my first time on your channel. I of course already knew about Ms. Christmas and have seen this before. I love how you made no comment during the initial performance. My suggestion would be during the intial playing your reverse the screen as to who is featured--feature her with you in the box until you come to your comments. I expected to not like your comments, but I have to admit you chose your words well. You spoke like a vocal coach would or should. I too am concerned about her next performance and praying the coaches don't spoil her, but it is mostly about song choice, isn't it. Can or is she able to present other songs with the same feeling and emotion as she did this one? I wish her well, and hope her name is still in the music indutry news for many Christmases to come! Oh, and of course I subscribed, commented and liked. (I had already shared the origional)
Really, so far I choose to believe that you are the best vocal coach that I've heard critique a singing artist. I can say that as you were talking I was shelling Pistachio nuts with a teaspoon. But during your sweet critique of Sydnie Christmas you yourself sang a beautiful note that sounded so loud and so pure like it was coming out of deep water, your beautiful tone of that note you sang out made me stop shelling my yummy Pistachios and look up at you and I thought, "What!!!??" Holy-cow, please don't stop, please sing some more!!! My gosh that note of yours is still reverberating in my ears even now. Truly, you must be a wonderful lady to be sure. Thank you so much for your channel indeed. 🙂!!!!
Interesting analysis to Sydnie's audition ! The fact that you first listening the song without interrupting it it's reason enough for me to subscribe to your channel! Unlike other Vocal Coaches who in their first reaction is to pause the song every 5 seconds.... There is NO WAY to FEEL and Understand anything with that approach....! Must see her second performance in My Way! Greetings from Greece!
The other two performance from her in BGT semi-final with "My way": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BO0ssUB7lbM.html final with "Over the rainbow": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GBgNKRw5BQ8.html
I loved your measured critique of Sydnie’s performance, and duly award you nine and a half out of ten for it. For me, the nervous breath sounds did not detract from Sydnie’s performance but rather enriched it by revealing a slight vulnerability that increased its already high emotional content.
If you come back to read additional comments made about your reaction, you may want to know that Sydnie’s version of Tomorrow was not hers. She has stated in subsequent interviews that that this version was introduced by Maisha(?) Wallace in the beginning months of COVID I think in 2020. So Sydnie actually did a cover version of Wallace’s. But Sydnie is a very talented artist and I wish her well and God’s speed she makes it to the West End🎉🎉🎉
She was a singer and performer for years on a cruise ship and has been a backup singer in the west end but never the lead. This version of the song was as Sydnie explained on a British tv talk show after this performance that she learned this arrangement from another British singer.
Great commentary. It's nice to see a reaction that is real. By allowing the song to play before you start analyzing is fantastic, I wish more reactions were like yours. Playing the song a second time and weaving your comments in makes your commentary better received. You need to watch her rendition of My Way (Frank Sinatra) and then Over the Rainbow (Judy Garland). I have also subscribed to your channel and will be looking for your next reactions.
Great reaction. She's a story teller. Very accurate.discussion. She did get a lessons from bgt's vocal coach. Yer right. She also thanks the coach & hopes with the winnings she can afford her to continue advancing her singing quality. She references the version artist she signs from on UK main commercial tv station itv "this morning". I like your way to take in listen then 2nd discussion of clips. Her confidence in being her is infectious & is rapport building a strong glue of connection. Love yer accent. I guess the too much is her style. I know that it can become too familiar. Broadway is her aim alright.
Great to have you back reviewing on RU-vid! I've always appreciated your analysis of singer's performances. Consider a review of Lara Fabian. Dimash credits her as someone to learn from. If you want a single referral, try "Caruso" from the "From Lara With Love" performance.
Review another song sung by Sydnie Christmas. "Tomorrow" is still my favorite of her songs. But I'd like to hear your critique of her other songs.Your critique was useful and respectful.😃
