@MrTombre I too love the whole EP. I love DIAMOND too, infact, it's my wake up alarm which is sometimes not good because I've enjoyed it and slept through it on more than one occasion 😅 but my favorite so far would have to be Fire and Rain. Really got hooked into that on my first listen.
For me, getting acclimated to the skipping took a short time of adjustment, but the video was pretty consistently edited through the duration, so it created less interference as the review progressed. And, I’ve heard all the songs many times, so I quickly knew your placement. Thanks for this reaction video. I would be very interested to see what you would write for Angelina, because she has quite an eclectic background. I think writing a lyric will be the most challenging, because she writes all her own lyrics from a decade+ of journal writing. Perhaps an outside-looking-in perspective would be appropriate for a 3rd-party writing. (Angelina just posted a video of her jamming with Diane Warren. Perhaps Angelina is going to break Diane’s glass ceiling of always writing solo.)
Hello Nina, great reaction to AJ'S new EP. I love every single song on this EP but if I have to pick one, it would be Fire and Rain. Anyways, I would've loved to see your reaction to her MV of Now I'm the Fool. Her stage presence is absolutely amazing not to mention her vocals ofcourse. She is just oozing confidence in the vid. Angelina said that she had 100 original songs to choose from to put into her EP and these are the 6 she chose. She wanted to maintain a 60s vibe for this EP.

I believe Angelina did a fantastic job on this EP with her record company giving us a real taste of what's to come ! Yes, Angelina wrote the core lyrics and melodies for her EP and has stated that (the lyrics for her original songs are from her personal diaries - she stated that she has written about 100 songs so far) - but she also collaborated with others on the recording mix which would include tweaks to phrasing and perhaps changing a few words for better flow, backing vocals, and instrumentation. The EP production credits list several co-writers including Rachael Platten and Tara Stinson. In addition, it is rumored that Dianne Warren one of the greatest living pop songwriters has had some input on Angelina's forthcoming full album.
I can't stop streaming this EP. Every time I listen to it, I gain a new moment of "Omg, I didn't hear that before!" Its magical mastery grows with you as you experience it - even though you can sing along with the lyrics the first time you hear it! It's such a fantastic representation of Angelina and her current journey through life. Seamlessly weaves varying genres together with modern production techniques. Favorites are impossible - like you said, then tend to change listen by listen! Diamond is such a personal power statement of "I'm in control - I got this". Good in Goodbyes shows how we learn to grow positively by leaving negative comfort behind. They all have strength in their own emotional message. Lessons that take a lifetime to learn and appreciate. And she's 17 !!! Imagine how she'll grow in the next 10 years... Nina, thank you - I LOVE your reactions - to everyone, but especially Angelina! Great choices! On first listen I didn’t take to Love Don’t Let Me Go as much as Good in Goodbye but I’m surprised by how much I LOVE Love Don’t Let Me Go now and how much it’s stuck in my head. Will definitely stand the test of time, thanks for watching 😊

WOW Nina! Such a great reaction/analysis of the whole EP! And you're absolutely right about the conceptual line in the lyrics. It's similar to the stages of grief, you know. Disbelief, blame, anger, acceptance and finally, coming out of it with more self-esteem, letting yourself shine as you deserve. Isn't it amazing? Angelina has always had a way with words, having written such a deep, thoughtful book at 8/9 years old. Of course she had great people collaborating but I feel Angelina's style in all the song, lyrically speaking. What to say about her voice? I think we are all out of words to describe her unique tonality and many vocal resources.Also remarkable arrangements, instrumentatin and production. One thing it might interest you is that Angelina has a "jamming" session with Diane Warren 😯😊 and there could be a collaboration between them in the future!!! How exciting, right? I can't pick my favourite, it changes all the time but I think it's between the last four. Thanks for your efforts in putting this together, avoiding the block issue :)
Fantastic analysis Nina, I sympathize with your RU-vid roadblocks in putting out the complete edit, but appreciate your professional review of Angelina's "Old Enough" EP. I've bought the EP and have listened to it probably over 100 times already 🥰 I love every song on it, and it only gets better with every listen, with my favorite song changing daily 😂 Cannot wait for Republic Records to put their publicly machine into full gear when Angelina's Full LP is released later in the year, this is music the world needs to hear to mend the broken souls littered on this journey of life.🥰🥰

AJ stated that she has [drafted] over 100 songs, and had picked some from that for this EP, and would wish she could put out one album a month , Imagine that !!!
She's following in the footsteps of Prince who has a storage building in Minnesota that houses many thousands of songs we've never heard. His estate could release numerous albums each year.......for hundreds of years and Angelina may well have such a supply as she gets older. Trivia: Prince had seen The Bangles perform in L.A. and must have been smitten with the lead singer Susannah Hofs, for he invited her to a session he was recording and while there he said he'd give a song he was planning on recording to Susannah for the group. The song was 'Manic Monday' and literally placed The Bangles in prominence since it reached #2 on the charts. The #1 song on the charts at the same time was the other song Prince kept for himself, called 'Kiss'. What a life changing gift to give a new girl group.
@@ridgemanronNot a bad comparison, actually. Prince lived and breathed music and could write a new amazing song in the elevator going up four floors. I think most of them were what other would consider sketches, but as a brilliant musician working with other brilliant musicians and respectfully giving them space, they could be turned into masterworks in his studio. (I hear that RR has made Angelina her own studio. That is probably not a full recording studio, but the facilities to work on musical ideas so that they can be turned into complete songs and recordings later. A potential mine of gold or even diamonds!)
Nina thanks for this complete and beautiful reaction to this great EP. Angelina is an amazing vocal diamond and the mixture of styles, timbres, voices, genres and tones that this girl manages to use is incredible, it is not only her primary jazz training, which she has developed in an excellent way, but all the musical sources she has absorbed in these wonderful years of hers of experimentation and training, which she reworks and connects in her own unique way, like the true artist she is. I love every song on her EP, each one differently and can't stop listening to them. Angelina has done a beautiful and intelligent musical work with this EP, it's amazing and the lyrics are excellent and are mainly the result of her ingenuity, even if in collaboration, they tell an evolutionary path, from a breakup, through the stages of demonization and suffering up to the full self-evaluation and self-affirmation of the last song Diamond. Is a wonderful EP, new, emotional, passionate and with very beautiful and deep lyrics, written by a seventeen year old girl who is absolutely unique. 💛🧡❤

Thank you for the most in depth, concise, and detailed reaction yet! Your trying to decide which song you like most fits right in with many of her fans, "The last song heard is the best, and the next one I listen to will then be the best!" To me this EP just backs up the idea that Angelina is the BEST musical instrument in existence! No other can present the variety of sounds, the quality of tone, they power and the softness, nor the soothing, relaxing feeling (yet exciting) she give the listener! And above all this, she is a great story teller and songwriter!

The only thing that would have made this better, is Ear Phones. It would have eliminated the Hollow effect of the room. I do love what you’re doing and thank you for you’re reaction. These writers are acting as Co-Writers using her Daily Journal she’s been keeping since age Six. Remember, Angelina wrote a book that was published when she was 9. It depicts her reason why she sings barefooted. Her team of Producers and Songwriters is Top Tier with Grammys and other award to their name who have worked with many A-Listers. I heard Angelina was one of the Executive Producers of this EP. She is a Sponge, learning a lot of “how to” of the Industry, and at only 17, it won’t be long before she will do most of the work. She is a Force of Nature when it comes to Music and Compassion. Did you know she has raised Millions of Euros for Children in need and environmental projects.

We really tuned in for your reaction anyway. Many of us have heard the ep many times, but your reaction is one of a kind. Also, this would have been ah nour and a half video with the complete EP, and I appreciate your time commitment to this. As for Sweden, Agnetha of ABBA has just released a new song, and at 73 she is kicking behinds and taking names. Now, we await Angelins's full album, which is rumored to be late fall, oddly just in time for Christmas.

Nina, you always provide more than a “reaction”, but more of a considered response which is deeply appreciated especially when it comes to AJ. Her artistry transcends performance to help us understand more about ourselves and relations to others and the world. Her singing and being is poignant. The songs on her new ep are remarkable in content and feeling and are indicative of her lifelong desire to challenge herself and experiment. While her new work is excellent, I will never leave behind her earlier performances which will always remain meaningful. Peace
Diamond has been my favorite since the first day I heard it but all of the others are great as well. Good in Goodbyes and Fire and Rain bounce around for second place, and the rest are all 3rd place, all on the podium, and all should be hits.

I haven't been this impressed by an accumulation of songs in an album format since Amy's Grammy winning album 'Back To Black'. Both artists display 'deep' and 'profound' lyrics throughout their presentations with Amy basically staying in 'The Jazz/R&B' lane while Angelina ventures out further into an amalgamation of other genres that create an intricate, complex package that is simply mind boggling.
Favorite song changes daily .all of them are great and features a different part of her voice, ,, in a short AJ is shown in the studio with Diana Warren, so this could be a great hook-up enjoyed your reaction to the lyrics, it pointed out a lot of interesting things

The first 2 songs have a music video that really adds to the performance, so you owe it to yourself to watch them on your own. Too bad you had to chop them up so much to get them by the copyright police, they are almost unrecognizable. My favs are Now I'm the Fool, then Good in Goodbyes then All My Fault, but all 6 are amazing. She said she has recently written over 100 songs & she picked these 6 out of that pile. Her full LP album released by the end of the year will have 12-15, or so, from that same pile of songs & I can't wait to hear them.

Nina it seems you worked almost as long and hard getting this video uploaded on RU-vid, as Angelina did creating her EP. The only consistent thing about a video being 'allowed' to be uploaded on RU-vid, is the inconsistency. Angelina did say she choose the 6 songs for the EP from more than 100 she has written. Obviously she has been writing songs her whole life and maybe someday we will learn when each song was written. I love Angelina's confidence and how she inspires us to be more confident as well.

I have listened to the EP several times now, from beginning to end, and my favorite is the one I happen to be listening to! Each song in turn is its own gem (shining like a...)! If you think of each song as a part of the whole and try to find the connection, the whole, of the series of songs, then it makes you wonder if they were assembled in the order they appear on the EP on purpose. In the end it is a very selective and powerful set of vocal/lyrical jewels cast together with almost unbelievable instrumental tracks.

It’s very difficult to pick a favorite. They are all good and tell a special story about life’s journey and personal ups and downs. In addition she is saying I’m stronger for the journey and I here to stay and do things my way, if you can’t support that step aside. If I really have to pick a number 1, I’ll say Good in Goodbye. I feel this is about when she truly started to recognize the bad/darkness pretending to be good and caring. I enjoyed you enthusiasm while reaction to the EP

Regarding Angelina’s song writing, she recently stated that she has written over 100 songs over the years and picked these 6 songs for the EP. I would doubt that all these songs had co-writers from the start. It seems that when she wants to record a song she’ll bring in co-writers to help polish and wrap up the song, especially since the co-writers age sometimes the producers. She has a few producers on this EP. For example the Swedish co-writers for the first two songs are the producers of those two songs. She has said that her song ideas and lyrics come from her journals that she has been writing since she was a little girl. I don’t think she sits down with writers and they collaborate on a new song from scratch. She has never implied that. In fact when talking about a couple of her earlier originals she said she wrote the song but had help from the producers (I believe Stargate) in finishing the songs.

Very nice reaction and analysis. The skipping didn’t really bother me as I know these songs very well. Angelina usually does her own background vocals so we can assume the backing vocals are all her except what seems to be a male voice in Fire and Rain

She is and deserves to be a superstar. My only regret is that your copy of the EP first missed the two videos for Love don't let me go and Now i am the fool which where in black and white and where great. the other 4 songs jumped about a lot, but otherwise a great review. A suggestion for solving copyright issues : instead of cutting your video very often (not very confortable to hear) you could stop the video more often to comment... but the frequent small cuts in the flow are awkward to the ear 🙂 apart from that your reactions are great and pro ! 🙂
Thank you for your suggestion, much appreciated! I have experimented with trying this out but I found it was also very uncomfortable to listen back to as I could only use clips of about 4/5 seconds - I will keep trying different things and keep my fingers crossed for a solution. Thanks again 😊
He’s 17 years old here January 10 20/2 first of the 18 she got a star on the Hollywood walk of fame over the age of 17. She better fantastic show in Las Vegas a big production just her magnificent. She was import mountain New Hampshire doing a concert the old music all sold out thousand people there going back to Norway for short interview with a friend club another friend that used to work with my back to Los Angeles California start working on her new album.

@@ninaschofield whoops, sorry, didnt see the pinned post, i think i might have posted before it was pinned, i think only 2 people had commented. Weird that they would make more of an issue over the audio than they do the videos or visualizers. Maybe Republic Records were slack for the 1st few weeks after its release to help promote it? From what i have heard republic records is one of the more aggressive in protecting their artists IP.
This video is jampacked with interesting stuff, but it is clipped mercilessly, leaving me feeling rushed and out of breath. I see there is a full length version on Patreon, but can't afford to support more channels at the moment so I'll just thank you for the work.
