When Dimash walked to the front stage and knelt down, he was kneeling to his grandparents who raised him since he was a little boy so his mother can continue to study and his father can work. Grandmother had to retire early as a school teacher just to take care of Dimash. What a beautiful grandparents Dimash have, so gifted in everyway. Strong family bond. So proud. Such a beautiful family singing together in stage. Makes me cry. Thank you Frank for your deep appreciation on Dimash and parents.

❤️❤️❤️❤️ Dimash kneels down and sings to a couple in the audience...those are his grandparents. It is Kazakh tradition for the grandparents to raise the first grandchild. His grandmother, whom he also calls “Mama”, is the one who recognized his interest/talent for music and enrolled him in music school at the age of 5. After his performance of SOS on The Singer, the full version of that episode shows him calling his “Mama” (grandmother) and telling her he won that episode. Then Dimash sweetly says “Don’t cry Mama”. His grandma and grandpa are famous musicians in their country. Dimash's talent came from two generations.

His parents both are well knowned and honored singers in Kazakhstan.. and for dimash, he is gifted, it's in his blood, and combined with hard work and training.. super combo. gift + DNA + hard work = 10 out of 10. (Or maybe it's 12 out of 10)

That old lady who was crying is actually Dimash grand-mother. She is the one who raised him. There is a Kazak tradition that the first born son is given back to the grandparents to be raised. Either way, this family is very closely knitted.

So this concert was a welcome home celebratory concert for Dimash after he returned to Kazakhstan following his great success at Singer 2017. The first song was a tribute to his homeland, and this one, Precious Mother, was a tribute to the person who raised him and nurtured his talent in his early years. This is his grandmother, the old lady in a dark blue dress and white head cover sitting in the first row who tried to keep her countenance when Dimash went on his knee and stretched his arm to her. She then fumbled in her purse trying probably to find a tissue . She is the one that Dimash calls Mama to this day. This concert was attended by thousands and televised to millions. That’s a real homage and tribute! He just melted my heart when I watched this. How many young people today even think they owe their success to anyone but themselves?

Here’s a dimash performance in China that I bet nobody has watched or seen or reacted to unless you read Chinese. It’s hard for his American or Uk fans to access because the title is in Chines, but I figured it out and now you can watch the best Dimash performance ever. I’ve watched over 50 Dimash performances and I can tell you that this ranks ( with me) as his best. The outpouring of emotions is beyond amazing-not from this earth, not from this planet, not from this galaxy.. but somewhere celestial where the angels reside. Dimash is type 1-3! His vocal God-given and he found his talent when he was 5yrs. The teacher told his Mom that his voice is higher than normal children. Then he has developed it and believe that it is over 6 octave now!

Dimash have always been considerate of others so he lets everyone around him shines. Many singers have failed to do this.

Great - thank you Frank! Dimash has said many times - he never thought of doing anything else with his life - just singing...and it shows in his performances. He knows his talent is God given - and he works hard to maintain and improve constantly. He is such a humble, sweet young man - and knows how fortunate he is - and was growing up in such a talented but warm, loving family. Can't wait to see what his younger sister does with her talent!?

That was his grandmother crying , she raised him. She is in music as well . His grandfather too. Grandfather's name is Kudaibergen (I just found out) and I suppose that is why Dimash is Kudaibergen and not Altabaev as his mum and dad last name. His mum is opera singer and his dad is producer, He has a younger sister and brother. They are very very close and happy family. You can Google a lot about them, and find out why Dimash is a person and singer like this.

I have to clarify this... the people who he sings to in the audience ARE NOT HIS GRANDPARENTS ... I'm familiar with the Russian orthodox tradition of , returning the son, but his grandparents are the couple backstage when he was singing on the voice and his parents are in the audience....

He calls her "Mama" and adores her. When he Won the Singer Award for "Best Foreign Singer" at the end of "The Singer" contest, he called her and told her "This is your Award, Mama"... to cry for!
