Jace BROOKS i know that, but if you look at the comments, they all mention that autotune has happened on these live shows. but i hope it’s not true for makayla
I love ur voice it’s like an angel it’s so beautiful if u read this then I watched you sing and plz never stop ur amazing never stop what you love💖💖♥️♥️🤩🤩😁😁
I love all the comments on the video are like "shes just another singer she doesnt deserve a golden buzzer" but all those people dont know how insane she is technically
Yeah, but expressing emotion is part of the singer's job while performing. A beautiful voice coming from a singer with no connection to what they are singing does nothing for me.
peculiarbeing1508 I thought she showed a lot of emotion honestly. From the soft parts to the growls she had excellent timing on different parts of the song
Realistically if she sat in the middle not doing anything and acted shy with that voice whe would seem a lot better but since she performed the way she did she doesnt seem like shes showing emotion
I never understood when people said “her voice made me get goosebumps” but after hearing her voice, I actually got the chills and goosebumps while she was singing, her runs and the way she executed it was just so beautiful
She was so incredible. I can't believe she has such amazing technique at such a young age. If ya wanna listen to something else that'll give you goosebumps, look up some of the best live performances from Paramore. Hayley gives me chills every time.
ALSO thank you so much because you explain little things that a lot won't even notice that make the sounds so different like the vowel modifications and stuff, also you explain really complex concepts that other vocal coaches just don't explain really well they actually tend to confuse us even more, really appreciate it 💖
Sorry Manwy. She IS a pro. Check out her net worth; she was already worth more than $1mil by age 16! Girly blows Demi L (also a great singer) on this song.
oh my gosh are you kiddingggg she's incredible what even?!! If I sounded like her, I'd never shut up! Also thanks for mentioning vowel mods lmao somehow I forgot about vowels when practicing, idek how
I can't get enough of this performance! Thank you for breaking down why those runs and her range is so cool through the different techniques and shades she's using, it's helpful for me to try and implement now.
I love when he says “how you would say that in real life” as if singing isn’t real life 😂 but I think that just exemplifies how much he gets into the singers voice more than anything else ❤️
Her sound is the anatomy of symphony . The way she creates her own falsetto and pitches , it sounds tremendous and its heart lightening. So proud of her as a teenager 😊.Keep up Makayla 🧡
I watch this performance EVERYDAY. I can not hold a tune in a basket, so I can't break her performance logistically, but, I have ears & I love her voice, her confidence and even her performance praying she goes. Shes beautiful, with a voice, talent and smile to match, one of my favorite performers from "X'FACTOR, AGT, THE VOICE, AM. IDOL".
I haven't watched the video entirely but I remembered what you said about autotune in talent shows and there was some work done on the production or idk, she's still very talented, she's amazing but idk why they do that, or am I just crazy? Pls tell me Tristan and TrisFANS
Wow! Her vocals.... Spot on! Perfect vibrato, perfect relative pitch, her crescendo is well mastered, her high notes are crystal clear and right on pitch. The transitions she express vocaly is really well balanced. Her low tones are rich and full... And how about her vocal expression? She make me feel the words she's singing. Her stage presence is intense with a lot of sweetness! The way she own the stage! And how about her look? She's dropdead gorgeous. Pure beauty! She's fresh, adorable.. i mean Makayla Phillips has the total package! She is right on the money. Absolute flawlessness! Mad props to her! I wish i was 17 again.
She delivered one of the MOST moving, powerful vocal demonstrations I've ever heard from anyone on these contests, especially for a teenager. SHE is gorgeous, and so is her voice. I'd buy numerous albums of hers.
There is no autotune. This girl can flat-out sing! And the stage presence was that of a pro. Amazing, kid. I'm gonna be watching for your future performances. Simply brilliant.
Great input Tristan, I too have been a vocal coach for many years, and I have to say her technique is flawless. She has great range, and understanding of the approach of placement to vowels. She's a total pro....at 15..... wow
she worked her butt off with lessons this is literally her dream I studied with her in Hollywood launch we even have a video on youtube it was years ago lol but thats the one I'm on she's amazing even when I met her at age of 12 I'm so proud of her everyone showww her love!!!!!!!!
If it was autotuned, don't you think Triston would have called it out? He made a video about disliking autotune in live competitions like this not too long ago.
Girl is amazing. Been watching a few of her clips tonight. 15 years old? Seriously? Amazing! Voice, Poise and Stage Presence of someone much older. Crazy how young some of the up and coming talent are these days.
Hey Tristan awesome video as always. Just curious if you had ever seen any thing by Carly-Rose- Sonenclar on X factor. I believe she was like 13/14 yrs old when she auditioned (you mentioned singers under 16). Always felt like she should have won, they gave her insanely hard songs to sing because they knew she had a crazy good voice and had previous broadway experience.
KGames I remember Carly because I'm a fifth harmony fan and watched RU-vid videos of their journey on x-factor the same year she was a contestant. I honestly believe she should have won first place
I literally love her singing, Its so unique and not auto tuned like these producers now a days. Shes very pretty as well, she deserves to get big and all the attention for her and her singing.
She performed at my school, and she was so bubbly and had such a good presence while performing. She was also dancing, and making fun of her friends while performing which was actually super cool tbh - I haven’t ever seen a younger singer interact with a crowd as much as she did.
Have you ever heard Brian Justin Crum's rendition of Creep on AGT? Gives me chills everytime I listen to it, it is so powerful and underrated among AGT performances. I would love to see you react to it if you haven't seen it yet!
sammy huber no one is saying she isn't REALLY singing, but in some parts of her singing you can tell production manipulated the pitch of her voice to sound "perfectly" in tune, which results in her sounding robotic in some parts of her singing. It is more common now in talent shows on tv than you think. It has nothing to do with anything that SHE did.
My dude I would LOVE to see you look at an artist called Yebba. Her technique and tone are so gorgeous and unlike anything I've ever heard before. I think you'd enjoy "In My Mind"
I never watch these things. You're a really smart guy. Your approach to detailed explanation is genius. You didn't just say when she was doing something. Step by step you showed how she did and what it would sound like othwrwise. You made a subscriber out of this guy. Well done bud 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥇
I have no clue how to sing but this popped up, nice video and showing some of the techniques she used in an easy to understand way. Really talented young lady and at only 15 sounds like she has a bright future.
I love her version of this song and she also does this thing every now and again she'll bend bend her knees and bend forward slightly which,to me, looks so cool and is probably just a natural thing she does while singing, almost like she's pushing the air out of her lungs.I hope she goes far in the music business.
Omfg you saved my runs with that one tip of slightly modifying the vowel. I was trying to do the run she did at first and I couldn’t get it crisp but once I modified the vowel it sounded SO GOOD! Thanks man!
Frankly, I dont think she deserved the golden buzzer. She can sing very very well, but a golden buzzer? It's because of her age I'm sure. This is AGT, not the voice. On the voice, there a tonnes of great singers. So I'm unsure why she deserved the golden buzzer considering the fact there are more unique talents on the show. Just a personal opinion.
hello hey same. I think Heidi was just running out of time to press the golden buzzer so she just did it. Not saying she isnt great, she is ! Its just id like to see some diversity when they press these buzzers like maybe some comedians or stunt people idk they just all go to singers i feel.
SophiasJourney I so agree with you! And, I'm unsure if it's the same but the grand prize used to be a residency in Vegas? I mean, when I'm in Vegas, I don't pay just to watch a singer at a show, I'd like to see more variety of shows in Vegas. If that makes any sense
hello hey I'm tired of people saying this. The voice is on its way out. The show has not made a single successful singer. You would be stupid to go on a show that has run for over 10 seasons but hasn't made one major success
Holy mother of guacamole she’s is just magnificent I thought she was a professional a second there the vocals are killing seriously holy sheeeeeeet she slaying
Tristan Paredes I know nothing about singing mechanics, coaching or stage presence. But, what I do know are people. And I think you are a warm, very funny, smart and believable person. I would imagine there are some who tire of you being right all the time, but that is their problem. I also think that you need to quit holding back out of fear or insecurity. You are so awesome and most probably a wonderful human being. You are very enjoyable and totally believable. Thank you for making my day better. And I do think miss Phillips is a fantastic singer. I think she is probably quite the comedienne as well.
Thank you so much. I am following you for a couple of months and I learned so many things in your videos and improved my singing so much. I am finaly comfortable with my singing voice and my techniques are getting better with your tipps, even if these are just small things.
