That was the new queen of jazz. Her body was 13 years old, her soul who knows.

She is amazing. She did not win the AGT champions because she didn't need to. I really think that everyone already knew she is a star, she is going to have an amazing career and this competition just put her out there for the entire world to see and she became an overnight sensation with just that one performance. She arranges all her own songs and if you watch some of her other videos, like, I Put A Spell On You; at the end of the video you can see the look on her face. It's like she's trying to decide if she's happy with it. If it was good enough in her own mind. She just understands so much about music and has from a very young age. She is so smart and talented and knows what her style is at such a young age. I really hops she will write more of her own songs and record an album soon but I know her education is important to her also. She is just so mature at the age of 13.

As a sworn Angelina admirer, this was a very pleasant video to watch. Since she was 7 and appeared at the NGT show, she has stunned me and touched me, and surpriced me again and again. Her strong emotional singing, pulls every string there is inside my heart and soul. There is no way to explain, or try to describe what`s going on. It`s all exactly like Angelina named her great CD album in 2018; - "It`s Magic". So even to her, the world of music and songs are pure magic. She was 13 when this was recorded. I first discovered Angelina Jordan Astar when she first participated in Norway's got talent 2014, when she was 7 and 8 years old. I loved your on-point reaction and short analysis of Angelina's performance. You will not be disappointed If you choose to follow her stellar career from age 1-1/2 to the present 14 years old. She is never nervous whether singing with a single guitar or accompanying herself on the piano, singing to notables, live to 30,000 or to millions on TV. Although she usually does covers, frequently much better than the originals, she has written three songs, done revised lyrics on many and performed three songs written for her or first performed. She auditioned for Norway's Got Talent in 2014 when she was 7 years old, and won it when she was 8. She is Norwegian with Swedish, Iranian and Japanese heritage. On RU-vid you will find more than 125 unique songs, and many performed multiple times in different venues, some live onstage and some in studios. She has two albums out and is working on a third, rumored to be all original songs. If you could only pin down one genre of which she excels, it would be jazz, but she is able to do all genres with ease and perfection. Her range is about 5 octaves with the low range ridiculously low and vibrant. She always makes a song her own, adding touches that identify it as hers. She’s been doing since she was 7, she’s fearless. In some of the Norway’s Got Talent performances the music starts and she walks up to mike right on queue to sing. There’s a music festival in Norway that she sings at with 2 foot high stage that’s 6 foot square right out in the middle crowd with the supporting band and choir a long way behind her. I think she starts some of those acapella too. With regard to style, I’ve only her do this style at AGT. She started doing Jazz, but I’ve heard do country too. It’s not very often she’s not all in. Although you didn't show the Judges's reactions, Simon remarked that he had never heard that version before. This was correct, as Angelina had rearranged it for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelinafying". At the end of the performance the first person who stood and clapped was Angelina's maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani, a well known and respected Iranian artist.. You may not realize it & this may sound silly to you, but you just stumbled on a once -in-a-lifetime vocal artist. She has mastered every vocal technique in her tool box & her voice is just beautiful, but we all know there are many current singers with beautiful voices. She writes her own songs, 3 beautiful ones between 11 & 12 yo. She has continued writing songs since she moved to LA 2 years ago, & a new album of originals expected this spring has been delayed by the Pandemic. Again, there are a number of talented singer/songwriters that are amazing. Angelina arranges all her own songs & her gift to the music world is her ability to take classic, old songs, rearrange them to make them new , current & usually better than the original, IMO. That puts her in a very exclusive club. Who does that? But where she leaves all others behind is her ability to emote, which is unmatched. She tells the story & makes you feel the lyrics better than any singer I've seen in my long life. She elicits a calming effect that makes her addicting, she gives me goosebumps & makes me cry. It reminds me of the time that Marvin Gaye just blew us away before the 1983 NBA All-star Game in Philadelphia with his unbelievable rendition of The Star Spangled Banner. She has already established herself as the jazz queen of our time. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. Nice reaction!! Many fans have been with her since Norway's Got Talent days. This performance was my introduction to Angelina in January. Since then I have listened to all her YT material many times. I have listened to her every day. Her nuanced or highly emotional performances kick you right in the soul. I hope you decide to go down this rabbit hole. A lot of fans like reactors to go to I Put a Spell on You (B/W studio version)- a tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins when she was 9. Its unlike most of the other stuff she does, but it's very impressive. A few fans have given you links in the comments. From what you said, I think you'll like most of these. You should check it out! Quite the voice When Angelina (from Oslo) was 6 years old, she met a homeless girl around her age in Iran. (Her grandmother is Iranian artist Mery Zamani.) The girl did not have any shoes, and Angelina says her feet were scarred. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes. Not only does Angelina honor the young homeless girl she met by performing barefoot, but she also wrote a book about the experience. It’s called Mellom to jherter (“Between two hearts”), and was published in 2015, when Angelina was only 9 years old. According to her website, Angelina then “vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them.” She keeps that promise to this day, as she says that little girl “is always in my heart.” She arranges all of her own music.

Ken - Great reaction to a great singer, our girl Angelina. Interesting that you have Frank's picture on your wall (your have excellent taste!). He was the gold standard for enunciation in singing. We could understand every single word he sang. I have noticed that in Angelina, too. Whether it's from the softest pianissimo to the fortissimo belting, every word is clear as a bell. As I always say, Angelina doesn’t sing songs. She sings emotions that go directly to our souls creating beauty and joy. This is Angelina’s world. We just live in it!
