So glad you finally did Angelina!! Angelina is something really special. I have been waiting so long to hear your analysis of her. She has many more sounds and styles for you to discover. And because Angelina is new to you and maybe some of your followers, here is my little bio on her... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 13 (9 in this performance) - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through RU-vid videos and started studying all the greats from Jazz history. - Angelina always sings barefoot..... When Angelina was 6, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. The girl complimented her on her pretty shoes, so Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl. She made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot to remind us that there are less fourtunate people in the world that could use our help. (that's a shortened version. the full story is more touching than the way I have told it here). When Angelina was 9 years old she wrote a book about the story that can be purchased on her website. (angelinajordanofficial) - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 100 songs over the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, and many more. All of which heard her covering their songs and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

Every time I hear Angelina sing, I picture her stepping out of an old black & white movie, to transport us back in time, so we can fall in love with these genuine masterpieces again ❤️ 💚 💙 💜 Great reaction!!! A little backstory, for some of your subscribers who may not know......Angelina's Grandmother loved Blues & Jazz music, & they used to listen to it all the time, & Angelina was hooked, so her younger style tipped the scale closer to Jazz, and as she ages, she has developed many other styles of music, including her own, & now can sing almost anything!!! She also sews most of her outfits, does all her own musical arrangements, & goes barefoot, because she met a young girl when performing one day, who had no shoes & could not afford to buy any, so Angelina gave her the shoes she had on, & in memory of the girl, & poverty, she continues to goes barefoot! What can I say, except this young girl, is an inspiration, an amazing talent, has a huge compassionate heart, & the world is a much nicer place to be, with her in it !!!

Finally - this is the most awesome girl ever - so much emotion when singing, and between vocals she is so relaxed like a switch

Original was Screamin' Jay Hawkins in 1956 I believe. We see his face on the candle right before she sings.

She is amazing! I've never heard of her. I looked her up just now. She is still in school and she's written a book.

After watching other singers singing the song, she gave more justice and soul to the song. The experience, feeling & reaction I had is completely different when Angelina sings. I've got goosebumps & tears. She brings my soul into the song. Thank you Angelina

She was barely 9 years old in this video. She has done more than 100 covers and some originals. Her voice has matured a lot since then. Try out "A Million Years Ago" or "Song For A" for a very different side of her. Almost everything she does is amazing. She is 13.5 years old now and sings like an adult.

She is growing so much as an artist and has a very unique voice. You really should check out her later performances such as A Million Years Ago and Born to Die. She does write her own songs as well.

She was on Amercas got talent Champions the other day, 13 years old now

I follow her 6 years now, since she was 7 years old and she won Norway got talent. I listen all her covers and with her smokey , raspy voice and her emotions when she sing, all covers are better than original songs. I just love her. She is amazing now and she will be huge legend one day. Please react her performance on AGT Champions where she got golden buzzer for her rendition Bohemian rapsody. This performance is stuning. Even Queen Woows her performance on Twitter. Will be mesmerizing if Angelina and Queen do this song together one day.

Now react she singing A million years ago by Adele and Born to die by Lana Del Rey. Her versions are much better than originals in my opinion.

Thanks Rebecca for your comments advising her and all young singers to protects their voices. You're the first reaction coach to comment on that. All of them should have mentioned it, if they are truly voice coaches. Of course it's truly amazing what she accomplished here, but that much voice strain would have caused damage if done much more. Her more recent singing of this song tones down those parts, so apparently she and coaches knew they needed to do that. Those are precious vocal cords there. We all want them healthy forever :-)

Thank you for another informative reaction video, Rebecca! This is the first I've heard of Angelina Jordan and I'm now a fan! I LOVE jazz, especially big band, and I've never heard a child sing in this style before. She nailed that! I also like that she can growl (something I have yet to learn). Ps. Are you able to react to Vanessa Amorosi - Heroes Live Forever? It's her performance from the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She has this electric guitar-like quality to her upper chest voice that still bowls me over 19 years later.

So now i got some more time to write you what makes it more impressive what she have done in this Video. First of all you have to see the Original by Screaming Jay Hawkins to understand what she is doing. She wrote this musical tribute by own with a age of 8 years close to 9 all lyric and musical setups are from Angelina worked out together with her with own Band. I really don't know anyone in this age who get a own band and has this musical understatement. Her range is nearly 5 Octaves with is absolutely stunning for this age. The first song i hear it was Born to die and i relay was thinking that is a fake but was not as i find out very fast. As you she got a outstanding musical ear and a great voice. So its easy for her to make each song to her own . I know a lot of good singers but she is a category of her own with great parents protecting her talent and her childhood. Angelina took me a few minutes to warm up to. The thing that gets me is how she can mimic whatever singer she wants yet still sounds distinct. She's amazingly, almost uniquely, versatile. This one makes it sound like "oh, she's just a heavy jazz singer". Then you hop over and listen to her absolutely kill a Whitney Houston song even though you know that singing high and powerful isn't her natural style. And then, just for kicks, you may hop over and watch her sound like Elvis because why not?

Angelina leaves reactors with their mouths open at a loss for words. That happened with one of the Norway's Got Talent judges when she first sang a Billie Holliday song, a cappella, at 7 years old! He couldn't speak clearly and admitted he was at a loss for words. I love how you said you can't help it sometimes, you got musical Tourettes. By now you've discovered more of Angelina and her 1000 voices. She just performed 2 concerts at the Las Vegas Westgate Casino & Hotel in the International Room, on the same stage where Elvis performed for 7 years!!! A dream come true for her. Check out some of those performances. James Thiel and Big Angie Fan both posted quality videos from both concerts. Angelina turned 18 on January 10 and she's already on her way. A Hollywood reporter/producer interviewed Angelina in Las Vegas and created a 16-minute documentary of her called Angelina Jordan - 10 Years in the Making. Worth watching and reacting to.

It was a Screamin Jay Hawkins rendition of I Put A Spell On You, (the original) that she took...as you can see SJH's face on the mug she's holding at the start of the video. She's 9 here and she's well known for singing the old classic songs of the past. Angelina Jordan is mainly a jazz singer but can adopt well to any genre you will throw into her. She's 13 now and already written 3 original songs. She's well known for her very impressive low register just like Elvis Presley has. But she can also go high if she really wanted to. She has 100++ covers and performances in RU-vid of different genres that shows her vocal prowess. Thanks for reacting to her.☺️

She has had a remarkable career between 7 and 13. Opening for Norah Jones, collaborating with David Foster, Mark Ronson, Quincy Jones, Nico Cartosio. She is on her way to become one of the greatest singers of all times. I think I read that the vocal coaches in Norway couldn't teach her anything more, so she moved to LA to see a vocal coach there. She is on that level. You should definitely react to some of her later covers.

The original was by the author of the song Screaming Jay Hawkins in 1956. and it was from that video she arranged her version. There was a picture of Screaming Jay on the candle she was holding at the beginning of the video. She now has 5 originals besides about 160 covers.

Fantastic news! Angelina has just been named as a contestant on America's Got Talent the Champions taking place in January. This is her first Major Performance in the United States since she was a child, but now an aspiring star. She has a new album of Originals coming soon and this may tie in in some way. Angelina sang gloomy sunday at 7 for her Norway's got talent audition. And sang I'm a follow want you , another Billie holiday song accupello 7 or 8 and won Norway's got talent at 8 years old . I believe she wrote and published a book explaining her bare feet. And from what I understand she has 3 original songs out. And her parents only allow her to perform at charity concerts and in a studio in such a way that does not interfere with her schooling. The short version of the reason for her performing in bare feet is a little girl street vendor liked Angelina's shoes so angelina took off her shoes she was wearing so the street vendor now had shoes to cover her bare feet. There is a lot more to the story . And it is heart warming. Angelina's vocal range can hold it's own while singing "sway" compared to dean Martin.

Everything with Angelina is no effort for her and she and her voice is unique,and so lovable to listen to. She

Rebecca, thank you so much for this! Angelina sings a little of several styles. She really appreciates and loves the classic jazz though. Her mother keeps a close eye on her and last I heard only allows her to publicly "perform" on weekends as she goes to school and is just a kid during the week. She is allowed some practice at home. I'm always happy when new reactors discover her for the first time. I first discovered Angelina Jordan Astar when she first participated in Norway's got talent 2014, when she was 7 and 8 years old. ( here is a video clip from the finals: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iBVe68xYEpc.html ) I still remember that I was shocked in a positive way, and I have ever since that time been a fan. A fan of a child. I wouldn't believed it if you had asked me 10 years ago. I have never been interested in the jazz music genre , but Angelina's interpretations of old jazz music classics has "opened my eyes" for that kind of music for sure, and in a way "touched me". In the past year she has posted some great covers of modern music as well. Most of the reactors stops after this video, but I hope you will continue to react to her in the future.

I heard Angelina likes Goldfinger. She sang Diamonds are Forever. Her mom said she "puts the brakes on." Angelina's song "Shield" ...you would like the lyrics. It's about being protected. Her grandmother, mom and I guess her dad (although he is behind camera most of the time) are very protective, yet allow her creativity full reign.
