@@DreamsInWild I have to admit, "Lucky" was the one that got me. The entire show is an emotional rollercoaster, but "Lucky" hits really close to home for me. I also would love to see her live! That would be awesome! I would actually love to just talk to her. Pick her brain for a while. Haha! She is probably the most interesting person I've ever seen.
Aurora is from another world. For me the best young artist right now. Her lyrics are so deep and mature, and her voice is so amazing. Please react to her song "It happened quiet" live at Nidarosdomen.
Or from this world, just a different plane (plain?) of existence. And good on you Sam for a key observation. NO ONE inhabits a song more deeply than Aurora, something that makes her live performances so special. If you watch to the very end of a song (and how could you take your eyes from her really?) you'll frequently see from her a look of surprise as if she's wondering where all these people came from.
I think this is a followup from the "it happened quiet".. its like she tells a story,. She is not making excuses for the one that kills her, she just shows the reality, not everyone who kills are monsters, they are regular people driven to a point where they see no other way out. It is to show the desperation and sorrow that can lead to tragic events... that is my POV, the song gives different meanings, depending on the POV of who listen to it..
absolutely, this is more about understanding the killer, and the other darker side that we never think of. however it happened quiet is a song which came way after this song, and it is more about love and the uncertainty of it. tbh both are songs about love, but they go on separate lines and they have been written quite far apart as well. but yes many of her songs are connected and tell a story longer than one song. its really nice to see that there are people out their thinking and feeling the way i did. thank you
I either read or watched an interview in which Aurora said the only song she has ever really written with herself and a specific situation she experienced "It Happened Quiet." I feel like "Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)" is not about using a gun to murder someone, in a literal sense. I believe the gun represents the power this person has over the person whose pov the song is from. To hold that power to someone's head, then to exert it (bang I'm dead). I feel like the rest of the song, is the excuse or story that someone will tell themselves, when they experience some type of trauma, abuse, or situation in which they're controlled.. "they were cruel to be kind, they're were protecting me from all the other screwed up people in the world, they didn't mean it (hes killing me for mercy). Maybe when she says "He holds my body in his arms, he didn't mean to do no harm and holds me tight.." she's saying he didn't mean to do it. Often times, an abusive person will lovebomb and manipulate the abused into being grateful for the love and forgiving of the negative behavior. Aurora said that IHQ is about a relationship she had that had it's happy moments but, behind closed doors, was drastically different and scary. She said this person was so dark and viewed the world as dark place. Because of this, they always wanted to protect Aurora from the outside world, and would often times become violent. She realized if she stayed in the relationship, she'd basically, bleed in this slow painful reality, until there was nothing left of her. I also read that "I Went Too Far" is connected to this IHQ and Murder Song.
@@shelldee4173 It's definitely a metaphor. I took it to mean a painful breakup. Maybe on of those were you even know that you both love each other. But a relationship is more than love; you have to live with another person. We've all at least seen on these relationships where the two love each other intensely but they simply cannot make the relationship work. So this guy is breaking up with her and the ending of the relationship is like the gun that's shattering her life, killing her. And he is doing it not out of hate because he loves her and he's jsut as upset as her but this must be done. They both must move on and end this relationship and so the gun is gone and there she goes.....
I always thought this was about a sick dog talking about his master. got this impression the first time and it sticks with me now.. :D listen to it again. it explains every words. the necessary euthanasia, the unconditional love and fidelity of the dog. the "awful thing in life that comes.." the man crying with his friend in his arms.. .. idk I can't get that out of my head now :D
Aurora is definitely different. In my opinion she's genius. She literally lives the songs that she sings. She is connected in every way with the words and her vocals are mesmerizing. You should react to Runaway, she wrote it when she was just 11 years old. She was brilliant even then ❤️ Great reaction, Scott looking forward to more Aurora reactions 💯 Here's the link to Runaway ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fc7XWW_Ehb8.html
My Favourite Music Videos: Runaway The seed Queendom Running with the wolves Animal Askjell featuring Aurora - To be loved The river Favourite live performances: Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1) (Nobel Peace Prize Concert) Through the Eyes of a Child (Vevo UK Lift) It happened Quiet (live at Nidarosdomen) Under the water (Vevo halloween) Wardruna and Aurora - Helvegen (first vid that comes up) Haik Concert (The full Haik documentary is also worth watching, gives a lot of insight into Aurora as a human) Favourite covers: God is a woman (Ariana Grande cover) Teardrop (Massive Attack cover) Across the universe (Beatles Cover) Believer (Imagine Dragons Cover) Life on Mars (David Bowie Cover)
I didn't realize you never reacted to her before. I recommend almost everything she does live! Her voice is spectacular!! She also has amazing covers out there. A lot of people recommend It Happened Quiet live at the nidarosdomen but I prefer the version that's live at the current. I think her vocals are hidden a bit in the first version I mentioned. Great analysis as always :)
You really should check out and react to more live songs of her. I recommend "It happened quiet" - live at Nidarosdomen which is a cathedral in Trondheim - Norway. I promise that this perfomance will blow you away once again :)
I am so happy Aurora is finally starting to get the notice and recognition she deserves! She is an incredible artist and performer, and everything she does is magic.
"It happened quiet" live at the current!! My favorite song ever and it sounds so good live and acoustic I literally ascended when the harmony started 😫
NIce reaction! AURORA is amazing. Her live versions/performances really showcase her talent and how animated she gets; you can tell she loves what she does. If you're in a mood for harmonies, check out the UK Vevo version of "Through the Eyes of Child." She also does excellent covers; her cover of Massive Attack "Teardrop" and Ariana Grande "God is a Woman" stand out for me.
This song is so close to me, she says in concerts that it is about two people in love. To me, it isn't that she defends her killer's actions it is a story of a world that is so dark and horrible that he (with her knowing he is going to do it) kills her out of mercy, so she doesn't have to live in the horrible world. They are so in love that the only way to save her is to kill her, it is a very deep song that is extremely powerful.
This song is about an article she read about a man who mercy killed his wife who was in terrible pain from a terminal illness. that would never end until she died. The tragedy wasn't her death, it was his grief.
Good reaction sir! Yes she is a master in storytelling and emotions. Her voices in this song is haunting and yet cottonsoft. I have heard it so many time now and never get teird of it. Please countinuing in AURORALAND!!!
Hi Sam I fell into the aurora trap 3 years ago, she is without doubt the most talented singer songwriter and may I add live performer I have ever seen, every song she performs takes you on a journey they are story's of how she sees the world around her.what I like about her is,and you see it in her live concerts is how humble and really quite shy she is.sometimes I don't even think she knows how good she is.yes this is a trap that I will stay in for a very long time, forget your mainstream artists this girl knows the art of music.
I was literally waiting for your reaction to the very sudden high note the whole time. I remember when I first heard this song a few years ago and how it hit me, and I’m happy you enjoyed it too.
An absolute flower! Delicate and beautifully impactful. I deeply recommend listening to Black Water Lilies (Live at the Honda Stage), and if that isn’t available in your country I recommend Aurora-Queendom (Loustic Sessions). A woman with a true genius...
In her voice, she carries love. A love so powerful and beyond the means of its word. She gives it life in such innocence and grace. Selfless. She brings almost selflessness to this song that you don’t know how to react to it. So pure and haunting.
What a lovely reaction, thank you for this! I would love to see more Aurora reactions! All her live performances are stellar. There is just something so pure and magical about her and the way she lives in her music that shines through in her performances. I see "It happened quiet" has been reccomended by a lot of people. Its a very powerful performance, but thematically similar to Murder song. If you want to see more variety from Aurora i would reccomend "Queendom" or "The seed".
It's amazing how sometimes it looks like she's genuinely lost in the music... like she'll shake her head every once in awhile as if to bring herself back into reality.
Every time I hear her sing I have goosebumps all over ... you should definitely check out Aurora and Wardruna - Helvegen .. but the one in the mountins .. you will not be dissapointed
I suggest you try listening to another one of her songs, all of them are amazing but I suggest the live version of running with the wolves, winter bird, the river, and queendom
Just finished watching the video, and really, Aurora's voice, together with her lyrics, just paints the story of her song to your mind. Then, you watch her sing it and then you just got hit with her expressions and movements just adding to that painting her voice and lyrics started. That is the reason why she is one of my favorite singer. Like... if I just want to feel a song, I switch to her music and its 100% guaranteed that I will be transported into her world.
The guitar sound is also to kill for, spars and clean...and so fitting. Agree, intensity and integrity are core characteristics here. I never have heard anyone put a fundamentally very small, almost childish voice to such beautiful, dramatic use...real artistry in that.
For me the song is about a murderer who believes he is acting out of love and sparing her from the horrible things that we can experience in life, hence "killing me for mercy" and "he did it all to spare me from the awful things". Great reaction
I've literraly fell in love with Aurora'music and the last few days I'm browsing through all the voice coaches reaction to her performances with a lot of pleasure... But dude "ok so she's dead" Dude you just made me ROTFL that was so unexpected as a first sentence xD.
I heard her Live performance ad Nidaros mentioned here. My absolute favorite song from her is "Soft universe" and she performs it at this concert as well, and I think she sings it in a range that you as a vocal teacher can appreciate.
