There's a huge difference between the studio version and the F1rst Take version. The Ohs in the bridge in the studio version seemed like a defiant, triumphant cry, but here it's so mournful and emotional. LiSA's brilliant. She said she wanted to go into the take singing the song like she does again and again at her shows, but she was overcome with emotion and it poured out. Just stripping the song down to just vocalist and piano, just a white room, gave LiSA room to explore and express so much more than this already emotional song conveys. I love the F1rst Take!
With a vocal performance containing this level of intimacy and raw outpooring of emotions, you just can't help but feel an instinctual desire to reach out comfort her somehow. She channeled her pain beautifully throughout the whole song.. I felt all of it 😭 Never had a song affect me quite like this before but damn, she full on BROKE me and reduced me to tears 😅 I was not ready
The First Take channel is amazing. For others that you may want to react to in the future ... of course Babymetal - Monochrome, Yuuri - Dry Flower & Betelgeuse, Mika Nakashima - Yuki no Hana, and so many others there are just so many amazing performances there.
LiSA!! ❤❤❤ She's absolutely amazing. Her superpower is to carry emotion in what she sings. She is what she sings. You don't really need the captions to get it, but I recommend checking it out again with the captions on, and also especially for what she says at the end. I highly recommend checking out more of her performances on the First Take. They are all amazing. She is technically really gifted, and a perfectionist, but she then lets all sorts of emotion in and carries it, and that's where you find those little breakdowns in her voice - the trembles and vocal fries. She sings right to the edge of being overcome. Such a gentle, heartfelt soul, and an amazing singer.

All of First Take is great, but she is the most intentional performer I've ever heard. Both on that channel and in her live performances. For First Take: I highly recommend "Gurenge" For her: documentaries. She's amazing!

Wow.. i gotta say.. the version you viewed had much more detailed sound than I have heard from other versions. Everything sounded so much more 'present' and 'real'.. For context I think she sings songs for anime's and conveying huge amounts of energy and emotion into her songs helps to make them more engaging and hence the breathing being incorporated into the sounds of her singing can build energy and works into the themes of anime where there is never a moment to rest!! I think she has the control to do pretty much anything she wants.. she is so amazing.
Believe it or not LiSA always uses her nose against the pop filter to measure the distance that gives her the best sound. You will see her do it on every First take video she does.....

I would love to hear your take on another First Take performance. Her name is Hoshimachi Suisei, the song is Setllar Stellar. She's a Vtuber (a person inhabiting an anime styled 2d/3d avatar). In this case they used motion capture to superimpose her 3d avatar over her real body for the first take performance. Suisei is a member of Hololive Productions, a company which manages a large roster of Vtubers (both male and female, Japanese, English, and Indonesian). She is a wonderful singer, but beyond that she's also a streamer. She plays games, chats, and generally streams all sorts of things beyond just singing (In fact, she's a pretty skilled Tetris player. Not good enough to rival the best, but still extremely good). I'd love to hear your take on her singing, and perhaps some thoughts on seeing a 3d avatar on a show like The First Take (as she is the first Vtuber to appear on there).

This song is really representng the scream and voice of women or whoever who is suffering from the social eyes or expectation from the Japanese society. Trust me, you will be knocked out somehow.

Hi Ken L! To be honest She's a regular singer; but she could be an extraordinary singer with the support of her fellow home land, and of course a great determination from her. For what concerns her performance, though i don't know what really is said, my psychological sense make me feel like she has many things to learn about singing; She sounds so innocent to me.
