Yes Sandy is on the show "Singer", however this performance is from another show "Sound of My Dream". Song arrangement is very different from the original. Her debut album was in 1985! Not that you would have any reason to remember her, but she was in the backstage shots of the competitors in the Dimash Singer 2017 reactions you did. She was the one that said "Wow"at the end of "Opera 2", and she ended up winning the competition.

sandy lam is Hong-Kong superstar, she started to sing during 1980s, her concerts are amazing will give you goosebumps with her voice, she sang Cantonese Japanese, English and mandarin. a lots of her fans will cried when she sang a certain songs. 😍
I know Sandy Lam is very famous in Hong Kong back in 80’s n 90’s. I never knew she is capable of singing such high notes with so much control. Many of her old songs were not written to show cast her ability. I’m glad to hear her in the Singer 2017. Wow she hasn’t aged a bit!

There's someone I'd love for you to react to - the name is Zhou Shen & I think you might REALLY like this voice....Angelic & ethereal are 2 of the words used for this voice, & it truly is beautiful....this artist has become much better known in China & other countries since this particular clip was done (was on China's 'The Voice') - but after watching it over & over again (lost count !) over the last few weeks & still enthralled by it , I really think it's the best one to start with. You might not know that she is 54 yrs old in 2020. She started her career really earlier, a real Veteran in Chinese singing scene. She is a real idol (Diva) to everyone in the sets (professional singers included). I have watched a few of your reaction especially Hua Chen Yu's, i have to say you are real detail. Actually, I've done a fair bit of research. I actually think she was well respected for her vocals early on, especially on tvb shows, where she is often pitted against other singers doing funny things. The one that seems quite popular is Sandy's version of "I still believe" going up 9 keys. I also noticed that Faye Wong was often her opponent. There's no doubt from watching all that old footage that she could definitely sing and all her peers knew she was one of the best. Sandy also seems to be one of the few to do some old style chinese folk songs.
