ikr. me and my dad were watching the mtv awards today and they mention Billie Eilish and he said "Billie is good and all but I wish she would actually sing to her full potential" and i was like "uhhh wth do you mean". He then said "you know i wish she would actually sing. Like she should belt. " I then had to explain to him how singing works, and that Billie Eilish is not typically a belter. Then he said, "so what, all she does is whisper, she should belt." I said "Her voice type is not one that constantly belts. She does not write songs for belting. You would not tell a sprinter to just go perfectly run a long distance event. The same thing applies to singing. You wouldn't tell an alto to sing an all soprano song, or someone who does not have a belty voice to sing a belty song ." And no matter how much i explained that to my family they did not understand. watching award shows with them is so frustrating 😭😭😂
gabi dude that exact same thing happened to me, I tried so hard to explain to my friends and family how beautiful and amazing her voice is but they don’t even care they just like to criticize a lot hahahaha
Lets not forget Finneas, he plays a key role in all their songs, his production and writing skills are out of this world, and the perfect complement to billies voice. What a couple of talented siblings!
lucas carvalhaes that’s actually not true, he has co-written some of her songs, and she has written the rest. This is what I mean by people saying that one is better than the other, or one has done more. Let’s stop trying to compare them and just appreciate them and their amazing talents :)
She’s changed sooo much. When I started to listen to the song I was expecting something kind of sad(like most of her songs are) but I got pleasantly surprised. She was not in a good place before and now that she’s healing and happy with herself that reflects on her music and I LOVE that. So proud of her
she also has music she made all throughout 2019 that prolly sounds nothing like my future since that song was made just a few months ago! waiting for that album!
I feel like I’ve grown with her music too- during the time of my life when I was going through a lot she was releasing sadder music which in a way was comforting, like it made me feel like I wasn’t alone. My mental health has taken a turn for the best and I think so has she❤️
it’s so inspiring how she went from “i don’t wanna be you anymore” in 2017 to “i’m in love with my future, can’t wait to meet her” in 2020. now THAT’S growth
Her voice is all about nuance and style. Also, she may sing in a “whispery” way, but what folks might not realize is that she’s still demonstrating quite a bit of control and even range. God, I think this young woman is just.. timeless. She sounds like 1945. Unbelievably smooth, easy and real. She’s a captivating, old soul who, at 18, seems to know herself in ways that many 40 year olds still don’t. This song is MAGIC. Love that it’s so tiny. Less really is more.
IKR!! The range in which she sings is sooo hard. To sing in an even range is soo difficult and invoke feeling in someone. Her voice in this song and the whole environment it creates calm and bittersweet and.... Aahh I can't even explain it. It is just so... 😍
I love the growth that she's acquired over the years..I aspire to be like that I just posted "My future" Cover i would appreciate if you could check it out 💕
@M 40 I'm pretty sure he meant it was experimental and new FOR HER, and a new genre FOR HER, because she usually does more pop-like songs. I can see the confusion though.
I think what’s interesting about Billie’s music and how she produces it, is her synesthesia. From what I know, the type of synesthesia hasn’t been revealed. But she’s said herself that wants to accurate portray what her synesthesia feels like. For example: (her example and I’m also paraphrasing) ‘when I write music i picture my end results differently and my process of making my songs is a lot. I want to accurate portray how something looks into sound, you know? Like how do I turn the brightness of this light into a song.’ Imo, that plays a large part in her music since it’s so layer, complex and interesting. Love her honesty
@@maxstricker5430 I have synesthesia, it's a condition that's always there, I would assume she has sight sound synesthesia (seeing sound, basically) so she has an end goal image but it's not only there at the end. It's not a state of being/emotion you can have only sometimes, it's a condition that's always there
Everyone I talk to about Billie thinks I’m just another fan who is obsessed because everyone else is, but her lyrics are just so meaningful and relatable. One of my favourites is, “If I love you was a promise, would you break it if your honest” ❤️ it’s so good 😍
@@StarCraven actually in my future im pretty sure Finneas took a backseat and just played the drums (as seen in the live song). In the description of the actual video he isnt mentioned at all! Which I mean fully deserved he needs a break
I love the lyrics are so genuine and if you actually take the time to read them on the Internet they really meaningful to she has an amazing voice and I really hope she succeeds more in the future. Also Tristan great choice on the artist you Stan
totally agree but "hope she succeeds more" girl she is literally the most famous teen artist at the moment, it's more normal to know who she is than to not know, she is world famous at this point
dprs The lyrics of “my future” are basically about her wanting to figure her and her future out... I guess she wants to succeed spiritually and mentally, because she’s already succeeded physically in a way.
I thought I was the only one who thought this song sounded different than her other ones. Its definitely more sultry and lazily sung, but its sooooo beautiful. I love that she's doesn't stick to one genre of music and it WORKS. So glad you reacted to this song so quickly :))) love it.
@@kvg3973 yeah, its honestly hard to tell if he hates it, or he loves it. But if you look at the video were be reacts to Melanies Martinez's Bakery, he says, "The more I look less impressed, the more I like the song." Or something like that.
@Vanessa But how could you ?? or just letting your heart expressing for you I know this feeling sometimes when the song sooo good my face doesn’t work😂😂😂
i feel like it’s only been like 2 weeks since the song was released and there’s already, reactions, remakes, covers, slowed down versions, mashups, loops, lyric videos, piano covers, 8d audios, trumpet covers, acoustic versions, like it’s INSANE
It's kind of a mix between "pop" and "Bossa Nova"! Finallyy Ive been seeing some people making that mix on her songs here on RU-vid and it works beautifully
This song feels like it would play at the end of a movie where a young womans relationship ended but he sucked. Like the end of the version of the devil wears Prada where she left that jackass. The video fits the vibe perfectly too. It's too bad we probably aren't seeing her original vision for the video because of covid but I think it pushed her team to go for something new.
As I was reading the second part of your comment I actually started imagining her in the music video instead of her visual character. Her being there in the rain, then experiencing the weather change. Oh so beautiful to just think about it
My favorite thing that Billie does is that little “d”. I don’t know how else to explain it but that little tut at the end of words is so comforting to me.
Her style immediately reminds me of Billy Holiday and Etta James type singing just much more subdued And they way she puts notes together makes me think of jazz
“She’s falling asleep but she’s very awake” has the same energy as _“Intermittent fasting increases mental sharpness, however side effects include mental fog”_ 😂😂
This song is a masterpiece and it just shows how Billie has grown into the person today and went from really struggling mentally to being able to truly love herself❤️🌍 so happy for her and her success
I love how he appreciates every single little cool thing, and shows us such a different perspective of Billie, her voice, and her music so we can appreciate those things too 💗
I’m 56 years old and i’ve been listening to soooooooo much music and i’m a musician myself and i can only say that Billie is totally unique ! The best singer i’ve ever heard !
Anyone who doesnt like Billi has no apreciation for real music lets be real, Artists like her are the people saving music rn, because music now is just... The same. Also shes just funny, go look at her complaining ab the UK's ketchup like come on
Adrien Miller Personally, I don't like Billie but, I agree. She and other artists are the ones saving the music industry right now. Other than that, Billie's music type just isn't what i'd like to hear but I really respect her
I think people have the right to not like her music , after all taste is subjective! Don't get me wrong tho I definitely am a huge fan of her music , I personally think it's beautiful but the type of people I hate the most are the ones hating on her for no reason simply because of her age, and disregarding her talent , although most have acknowledged that her brother is talented in his own right but Billie is equally as talented and nonetheless to have the skill she does at her age is amazing. People are just so rude smh, especially to a young girl.
I’ve never been a Billie fan, but I do enjoy this song. I’ve never really found her super intriguing, sure she has an edgy style, but there’s nothing really special about her personality, etc. She acts like a young adult, that’s pretty much it. I think this new type of aesthetic for her music is good for her. Less of that edgy 14 year old vibe, more mature and meaningful. Uplifting.
Billie Eilish Songs always grow on me. I was skeptical about this song the first day it was released, but now I think I may have a new favorite. Pretty sure it was like this for legit 90% of Billie's songs.
