After having discovered her about a month ago or so and watching a lot of her covers, I would say these songs are a walk in the park for her. She is a top-tier singer and these songs also are live requests, so this is pretty much impromptu.

Gigi de Lana is a very versatile young Filipina singer. Her version of this song has been viewed 45M times as she's so popular on RU-vid due to her superb renditions of all types of musical genres and she does it effortlessly and most times just sitting down but she's also captivating when she sings live. That is why i always watched this kind of reaction even though i am not a Singer atleast i know that Gigi's technique is superb because on how she explain every details. And Kudos to her she perfectly mimic every GG's technique beautifully.

Many vocal coaches do analysis etc. But the difference with this person isn’t that she can reproduce the notes, others have done that. The difference is her ear and musicality quickly picks up the nuance. She not only hears the notes accurately but she can hear what the mic picks up as well. She’s probably engineered and produced quite a few times. Bravo.

First time on this channel. Gigi is one of a heck vocalist and performer. Together with the band, they're like Avengers! The Ego Talkin' challenge at the end was really GOOOOD! The Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita clip was just for fun but it became a tiktok challenge because of them.

I agree with you 100 per cent her tone is amazing. Call me crazy, but as a lister to music, that is probably the number one aspect of a singer I like. When she hits the high notes so crystal clear and goes back into her normal voice, that gives me the chills. At the end of the song, I know she is trying to give it her all for the big finish, but I love her more in the beginning of the song. I could listen to that style of her singing all day. I think your right her high notes with power sounds like Mariah Carey. I think her Jazzy voice sounds like Anita Baker a little too.

This clip was part of their livestreams during the covid lockdown in the Philippines, Music lounges and bars were closed so also live concerts and cruise ships performance were stopped. So being no place to perform and no livelihood to sustain a living they decided to livestream via facebook first then you tube and provided entertainment to us during those lock out and accept request of songs of any genre for some tokens and the rest is history.

The truth is she is enjoying her singing too. This level of confidence only comes when a singer is really conformable at where they are and what they are doing and of course with their expertise. I agree GG has the package. Coach I couldn't agree more with your reaction. Thanks for at least acknowledging the band. They're a bunch of highly talented musicians behind her. Surprised no one’s mentioned her facial and body control, she not only controls space and time with her voice but through her facial and body control. She must of had some acting experience and over the moon shows you she is a full on musician. In the Philippines most of our music has been influenced and patterned from US music since then. We're heavily influenced by American music since the country is also a former colony of the US. Even after the US occupation our culture is still somehow westernized together with other influences such as local and spanish which makes us culturally diverse in all aspects. Aside from that, music is our everyday pill to lighten our mood or simply to chill out and unwind. The thing speaks for itself, the presence of karaoke in every house and establishment and even on normal days we sing a lot. Music and singing were already in every Filipino's DNA. It doesn't matter if you are out of tune or not, we don't care as long as you enjoy the song. Besides, singing every now and then is like a practice session already. 😁 You can sing the song without feeling of prejudice coming from other people who listen to you. All that matters is you enjoyed the moment singing your favorite song. Old or new we will sing it. 🤓
