Vocal Coach Reacts To Guns n' Roses | Axl Rose | Sweet Child O' Mine | Live | Ken Tamplin
It’s always entertaining when doing a reaction to Axl and today’s performance was no exception.
For today's video I’ll be looking at a Guns n’ Roses performance in Japan to “Sweet Child O’Mine”.
The tune was the band’s third single off their debut album and reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was ranked the 5th best song of 1988.
The song apparently wasn’t as popular with the band’s guitarist Slash who had a slight disdain for it due to how he came up with the tune. Apparently the song happened by accident at a jam session with Slash describing it as a “circus” medley.
Regardless, the song went on to be a huge hit and was the band’s only number one song. 30 years later it still continues to be hugely popular and this year it became the first video from the 80s to eclipse 1 billion views on RU-vid.
I hope you guys enjoy the performance and please let me know what you thought of it!

Poor spotlight-man. You know what I mean. Axl wouldn't stop moving around & kinda exploring the stage. But he doesn't do it that much now. I really miss young Axl. So energic. Btw. In that show, he didn't sing "I wanna go, I wanna go" part in Paradise City at the end of the show. He must had been exhausted...,

when he was young yes, but now he cant do that and he would still try and try and thats why his voiced lacked for a while then if you noticed he started singing better when he had the accident and had to sit his ass down and sing , then he sounded way better because he had his lungs full of air

Axl Rose is my favorite front man alltime. He’s so original. Nobody sounds like him. His stage presence is unmatched. I love other singers with amazing voices like Freddie Mercury & Sebastian Bach. But there’s ONLY one guy that sounds like Axl, and that’s Axl. He is 100% on the Mt. Rushmore of best Rock frontmen of alltime. Hands down.

If you notice one thing about Guns & Roses is that no other band has tried to imitate that sound and been successful or even consistently successful. Nobody has tried because it's not is easy and I don't just mean Rose but the whole band and its sound. Definitely one of the best prompt men and you know a brother I am a young guy in college and I'm starting to get turn on to this guns are roses because ever since the virus started and we got put a lockdown or doing college classes or working from our home on the computer. It seems like for some reason every body is reacting to guns are roses if you notice. And is nothing races because I'm actually a young black kid but I noticed most of the reaction channels who are reacting to Guns & Roses happen to be black guys or girls. Again that's not racist at all it's just a fact. Sad that I have to say that choose to be politically correct LMAO. For sure rose is definitely I would say and the top 7 at least based on his distinct voice and his distinct charisma on stage. Mick Jagger Has those distinct movements that everyone knows that's Mick Jagger. Rose has his swaying back-and-forth and that is so distinct I've never seen anyone else . You can't exactly memic rose or Jagger and get away with it. Everyone would know you trying to as a front man mimic front men and that's not cool....... be original you know What I'm saying?

Hey Ken, a true story about “where do we go” phrase in the song, I read on either the slash or duff biography book, it says that when they where writing the song they didn’t know how to resolve the song, in other words they didn’t know where to go! So axl started singing “where do we go, where do we go” and they liked it. Hehe

Being an Axl´s fan since I was I child, I came to the conclussion that what I really love about him is his energy, he is not very regular, sometimes his voice is worn out, but he do his best, and there is always a lot of energy in their shows. A great example of this is "Perfect crime- Live Indiana 1991, his voice was gone, but look at his attitude and the way he sings. Although I also love his voice when is too distorted. But when he is at his best, he really is a beast. Nowadays he still has a beautiful voice, listen to apollo performance 2017, or welcome to the jungle live in Coachella (one of his best performances since 1993 in my opinion, listen to it please), but obviouslly he has a lot of bad days when his voice is not on point, and there you can see how a really good frontman manage it, dancing, running and doing his best vocally.

OK so look I'm a young college kid and Actually a black .... believe it or not we Mess around with Guns & Roses..... lol. You had on something that I've been asking people. Help me out here because here's what I've heard..... Rose was pretty much not doing any kind of singing for about 10 or 15 years. When he did come back I can see a difference in his voice when I look at these Videos. There are a lot of bands out the that do use their vocal pipes as much is Axel like Aerosmith is a good example. Steven Tyler has lost some of the things concerning his notes He can hit along with pipes problems. Axl rose was not seeing for all those years any comes back in he still sounds great but you can tell he can not hit notes that he once could. I'm gonna say something and as something good is really serious but it's not nakia zation so don't be too politically correct only here.... Whitney Houston supposedly smoked a lot of crack for years and when she came back and tried to sing she could not hit notes any longer and it was pretty much they said because of smoking crack and a messed up certain parts of her vocal cords I guess. Her voice just was not the same and they say that this was due to smoking rock. Is it possible That axl rose was smoking something throughout all those years and is screwed up his pipes? The reason I ask is because it could be that but there are people older than him that have continued to Keep the same voice for the most part. It could be he just getting uses voice all that time and if that's the case I think a vocal coach could help him get his voice back. I don't know brother. I want to know big time. So why do you think Axel has lost some of his voice when it comes to hitting notes? I gave you 2 possibilities. You may have your own possibilities but I don't think it's just because hes older because not really that old. Sowed really appreciate if you could take a little time and answer was Rose smoking rock or smoke and something all those years when he was pretty much out of commission? Was he not using his vocal chords and that's why he can't know stuff anymore because something makes me think it even if actual rose was home alone or with anybody all those years hibernating he would still be singing in the shower and things like that. Then again if he want to separate himself completely from that lifestyle he might Sing onenote by himself simply because hes trying to get away from all That BS. I know as a rule own comment but I use speech to text so if you see any grammatical errors just forget about on please and I hope you get the point and the reason it is so long is because when you speak you can say something in 30 seconds in then it ends up long but assumes Cheryl I want you to hit me back with some kind of opinion

This small intro Queen Cover is very nice. Don't know if they did it all the time during this leg of the Tour but there are several other gigs where they did this.

I think the bassline is the same bassline as they did in Coma, they made it I think because they want to make a theme of a person with coma like you're dreaming. The song at the intro is Sail Away Sweet Sister by Queen, The original title there is Sail Away Sweet Sister (To The Sister I Never Had). Which makes sense and makes a blend with Sweet Child O' Mine.

Axl absolutely didn't preserve his vocal cords; it was often evident by the end of each show back then. I went to dozens of those shows and saw/heard it first-hand. It's not any easier hearing it on this video clip.
