The most beautiful thing about this song is that James always has tears in his eyes while singing this song. I really love his unique voice and his songs. I am so happy that I grew up with his music, it's so beautiful😍
He stopped singing so emotionally for a long time as he was getting a lot of criticism but has gone back to it now. His song Monsters is heart breaking.
The one thing that stands out for me is the gentleman in the grey, you see everyone with their phones not really connecting with he song but that man has lived this song he knows the pain that James so beautifully sings
Knowing that James Blunt served in Kosovo and wrote a heartbraking song about this time "No Bravery" listening to this song (live version on youtube) always brakes my heart.
You shoul check out Monsters the official video. React to his singing when he is SO emotional. His producer wanted tune it in the studio but he didn’t want it. He wanted it to sound like it really felt for him.

I was going to mention No Bravery, especially the couple live solo piano pieces floating around, but you stole my thunder, lol. It's amazing how raw and emotive he is in them. It's impossible not to feel what he feels as he sings it. Music at it's purest level.
I am very impressed with your video. So much videos similar to yours on RU-vid where people try to over critique and cut the person down instead of appreciate their talent and uniqueness so nice job
I love this song and you analyzing it just made my day. Maybe you could do Simply Red when they came to Viña del Mar, that was a live performance I will never forget.
Please react to his official Monsters video. He had a big fight with his label which he won. It was recorded in a single take without any cuts and no auto tune. Talking about emotions, have a box of tissues handy when you watch it.
I mean its 5:20 and im watching ur videos and just when i think to Subscribe i found this vid. Its amazing and the way you explain all the aspects of the sing makes me (an visual artist) understand. Greetings from México!
I'm happy to see you showcase a song by James Blunt that ISN'T Monsters. I see over a dozen James Blunt reaction videos in my recommendations, and Monsters is the only JB song they've listened to and commented. You also mentioned No Bravery, another great song. I love Monsters as well, but I feel Carry You Home, Wisemen, No Bravery, Same Mistake, Tears And Rain, and his cover of Crowded House's Fall At Your Feet are just as good, some even better. Music is my therapy, especially now. James Blunt's music is better for my mind than any drug I've been given by my therapist and oncologist. Also, 1973 is a catchy af song and a nice change for him.
@halichamney5337 That is incorrect. You're thinking about Monsters. Not this one. This is over a decade old lmao. Think you copied and pasted by mistake.
what's interesting is that I see a similarity between his vowel shape to the way the BeeGees used to do it, Barry Gibb would sing usually in falsetto mostly but it was the same very peculiar vowel sound. Listening to the Brothers Gibb album where their songs are more acoustic, you can tell it's not only Barry, but the other brothers also had a similar sound, just a point to think about. Loved the video!
Thank you! The BeeGees would not only have similarities in vowel shape but also being brothers probably have similar vocal track and larynx shape and size which would give them all a similar sound.
@@BethRoars That would make a lot of sense! Tbh it's the first time I hear James Blunt, but that very unique sound that reminded me of the Bee Gees with his own individual spin really caught my attention. Thanks for the clarification!
He was a captain and his father was a colonel. The phrase “ you’re not my father, I’m not your son, we’re just 2 grown men saying goodbye” ( but reversed) is what they would say to each other when james was deployed for service. James fought in the war in Kosovo.
Great reaction to such an amazing and emotional artist. Always like how you explain and break down their performances. Would like to see you react to Daneliya Tuleshova again. She has numerous covers and original music, but would like you to react to her recent covers of Diamonds and The Month of May. Very emotional covers.
I Started doing this in 1951 .. now I'm called :" The Undergroind Architect of Modern Rock " in the latest New York Times bestseller , "KING OF NEW YORK" ♡☆♡ watch for my STEAM AGE TIME GIANT , WILD ANGEL LPs .. "He's the best I ever heard , period !" - LOU REED
Please react to the song "É isso aí" with Seu Jorge and Ana Carolina. Both are really fantastic! Ana Carolina is one of the most complete singer in the world. Seu Jorge is a great singer and dancer too. He dances the rhythm of Samba like no one else :-) He was a homeless for many years until someone discovered his talent. He was living in a street with a bar with live music and the singer just invited him to sing a song without even knowing him. Well, he never stopped singing from that date onward. Now he is very famous in all Latin America, Africa and Europe. He is also a great actor!
I would really like to see her reaction to Whitney Houston singing the star spangled banner at the 92’ super bowl, the blend of vocal and instrumental harmonies makes a usually boring song transform into a tear inducing masterpiece.
I'm so glad you mentioned "No Bravery", such a powerful song. I don't know if you've ever looked at this: Jimmy Somerville in 2014, sounding as good as he did decades earlier! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CNhLOfUPHa8.html
Beth please you ve been away From metal scene for such a long time! Please react to Slaughter to prevail- demolisher, you Will be blown away by the lead singer’s vocal hability! Love you reactions btw!
I remember you liking the Nordic/pagan songs that have been requested over time. You should react to Heilung - "Norupo" Its very cool, and I think you'd enjoy it
If you manage to get a chance try reacting to his monsters video, Jesus it crippled me the watching it. As a grown ass Scotsman..... I cried ugly! Good luck.
I have very good memories with this song since my wonderful and cute British senior students played it to my on my last Spanish lesson day. I dropped some tears hehe. Could you please react to 'como yo te amo' by Ruth Lorenzo homenaje a Mónica Naranjo? Ruth sings so well and beautifully here that you'll fall in love with her hehe. Greetings from Spain and keep it going!
I know is a really long song, but u should react to The Best Of Times by Dream Theater, it's the most emotional song I've ever heard, and I'm pretty sure u'll be crying as I did
sounds amazing! I would love to see you react react to a song of Fall out boy (I like phoenix or the old ones like dance dance) it would also be awsome a song of dir en grey, evanescence or eisbrecher
can you Check out tom waits Beth? His singing voice has changed drastically throughout his whole career so you could make a few different parts to a video about it.
