There have been in my 73 years very few add singers that reach the deepest part of your soul and stir up such great emotion. Hair standing up on your neck, chills etc. Barbra Streisand has it, Celine Dion has it, Josh Groban has it, Johnnie Mathis has it. This young man may be the greatest I have ever heard. I was an inspired singer in my younger years and I regret to this day that I did not pursue it. He truly has a gift from God and I think that he will become a super star under the right leadership.

I just found out that this wonderfully talented young man was homeless from the age of seven until he was 24. He's never had a voice lesson.

Let's talk about the degree of difficulty of what just happened here shall we? lol First off, he's singing LIVE, with just one take...ONE. Then he's sitting down the entire time! Then he switches voices back and forth with no time to breathe. While all these are happening he's singing in Italian (which he doesn't speak) and English but his native language is Filipino. To top it all off, HE IS SELF-TRAINED while being homeless!! I mean my goodness gracious! Mad Props to this man he truly is a man of determination. Philippines should make a movie about him. C'mon Philippines where you at?

I remember my first reaction to Marcelito was much the same as your Beth. If this had been a duet sung by two people, I would have loved it. That one guy performed this duet is truly amazing. Love Mr. Pomoy, love your reaction.

It's my understanding that Marcelito Pomoy taught himself this song by listening to and mimicking a recording. His performance is gorgeous considering that he requires a translator to carry on a conversation in English even though he understands it well but has trouble speaking it. He speaks the Philipino broken english, but being self taught is also singing in English, Italian and Chinese. Possible more by now. He grew up on the streets from age 7, and now is married and a father! His ambition serves him well in whatever he does!

pure Bel canto! Singing a duet with yourself. Unreal! Great breath control with no cracking or sliding into the note in transition.. Great Talent and his back story makes me want to cry. A child of the Streets making a star of himself. Bravo! He deserves a lot of respect.

Many of those in attendance were ignoring Marcelito until he sang Andrea Bocelli's part. Almost everybody suddenly got their phones and started taking videos. They were absolutely amazed.

Marcelito's story is nearly as amazing as his voice. His mother rejected him at birth and custody was given to his father (they had separated), unfortunately his father was serving a lengthy prison sentence, so little baby Marcelito spent the first 2 years of his life in prison with his father. He was then adopted by a prison guard, but it was not a happy childhood and at 9 years old he discovered they were not his real parents and he ran away. He survived by selling food snacks on the city streets. He says he learnt to sing with two voices (not uncommon in the Philippines) as a way to combat the loneliness. He earned extra by singing in bars and cafe's. He met a girl, fell in love and they married. They now have a child of their own, and he has been reconciled to his birth father. He entered Philippines Got Talent last year 2016, and of course won it hands down. He has turned his life around and I am so happy for him.

marcelito lived in the streets from 7 to 24 years of age.. he discovered his singing talent when he was 7 and later discovered that he can do 2 voice when he was 18..he never had any voice lesson or coaching its real raw gift that he developed through years of singing..he had a tough life before but he never gave up and fight...

Thank you for the good sound quality and volume on your reaction video. Also, for your respectful analysis of his performance. Note that he grew up in poverty in the Philippines, part of it living on the streets. And that he says that he has never had any voice lessons or coaching at all. It is all natural from his heart. Amazing and inspirational.

That kind of singing technique is common in the Philippines since singing was already part of our rich culture. I'm so glad for you to discover marcelito and be part of your reactions. I think there's already a request for you to react some of our Filipino great singers like Morissete Amon with her Akin ka Nalang song, Rise Up, and Never Enough @ Wish Bus. I would like also to request Katrina Velarde's Go the Distance version and "Burn" All stars Impersonation. So many discovery here in the Philippines that will make you blew away. THE PRAYER was his winning piece at PILIPINAS GOT TALENT SEASON 2 held back in 2011.....he has no proper vocal lessons before joining PGT. He start singing when he was 20 though he was much aware of having a high pitch voice yet he ignored it. He joined PGT to bring his family back together though his parents both had different lives that time at least he gets reunited with them and be in good terms with his siblings from both parents and he gathers back his siblings that his father settled for adoption with nearest relatives when he gets into jail....thank u for reacting on marcelito's rendition of the prayer....pls do react on his version of the POWER OF LOVE too by CELINE DION ....salamat and mabuhay👀💚💚💚👀

Be warned. The effect of reacting to Marcelito and Morissette: Sometimes, the views initially come in trickles, but it eventually become an avalanche. Other times, the views immediately come in huge wave after huge wave. In either case, views in great numbers will definitely come.

One of the singers I so admire! Ever since I saw hin on tv here in our country (Philippines), I was just so amazed and became an instant fan! I'm very proud as a Filipino for his talent!😆

He is an amazing singer. Another astonishing young singer is Krisia todorova singing ain't no sunshine "the version of the song with her in a white shirt and tie and a hat is the best one. Shes Bulgarian and sings in 7 languages. 9 years old in that clip.

I'd love to hear you sing Beth...and let us give you a reaction. Some vocal coaches slate Genius people like this and it makes the vocal coach look complete idiot's because they try to explain how he does it, but they cannot do it themselves.....
