Great reaction and analysis. As a former audio engineer, I have always been impressed at Mori’s microphone technique. She is such a pro. I agree with you that she let the emotion of the performance control here, but singing off the mic was also intentional to convey that she is wailing. Also, she is leaning into the crowd outside the glass when she does that too - performing for the audience outside on the street watching her. As for recommendations, in addition to all the usual ones, I highly recommend her straight to camera performance of “She Used to Be Mine” from the musical Waitress. That's a genuine sigh of relief right there at the end. She's a bit fatigued and under the weather here - as can be heard from the somewhat gravelly voice and the timid growls - from several weeks of almost non stop engagements after fulfilling commitments that were previously postponed due to the pandemic and had to take some steroids to be able to go through with this. But 2 month before this Wishbus gig, she did a live band performance of this same song - in full HD - with the same crew that played in the recorded version. Now that was a well-rested, IN-FULL-SLAYER MODE Mori! You don't have to react to it, but you gotta give it a listen. Immensely enjoyable review, as always. 👍

I had long noticed that Mori often makes these sudden changes of register, to accentuate a note. Sometimes they are so surprising that some less competent commentator even said that she was singing off-key 🤣, while they are so effective to increase the emotion of the song. About this song, there are many versions, one better than the other. The one live with her band is the best as far as the arrangement is concerned, the digital concert version is the best in terms of choreography, shooting and acting. There are so many amazing interpretations of Mori that it's difficult to suggest some, but I will try: Mirror (my favorite from her EP) Love you still (maybe the most personal song for Mori) Defying gravity, Memory, She used to be mine (musical theatre) Could you be Messiah (I really NEED to see her singing this song on a real stage, alone, in the dark, just with a spotlight on her) Jesus take the wheel (just to see her killing a country song) O Holy Night (Favor Christmas Special). This wasn't ever her original but she definitely SLAYED IT! You have only reacted to 1 of her originals (Akin Ka Na LAng) so I suggest you to react to her EP songs from her Signature Album (Love You Still, Phoenix, Will You Stay, Mirror, and Trophy). Unlike Akin Ka Na Lang, these EP songs was written/co-written by Morissette herself (Akin Ka Na Lang is Morissette's original but it was actually written by Kiko Salazar). Brilliant story-telling by Morissette, and brilliant analysis by you! Your comments are all on point. 👍 That part where she made a gesture with her right hand and you asked " What did she say?" She said, "Kaya ngayon pipiliin ko muna ang aking sarili, bago magmahal muli" translate to something like "But now I will choose myself first, before I fall in love again" and it is that resolution over the conflict and internal struggle she had whether to let go or not, to choose between her loved one or herself. This is such a masterpiece of a song, a heartbreak song, and Morissette did an incredible way of delivering its message to us, the feelings, the emotions, while she herself was all into it, as you mentioned, at that moment, she no longer cares about the outside world, she was like "in a trance", in her own dimension. That's how good Morissette is and what distinguishes her from other singers. This Wish Bus performance is now one of the best performances she did and our new favorite! ❤️

Hello, thanks for the question. The reason is simple: on that channel I have a lot of different contents and many people are not interested in all of them. Since the audience for the reactions is really different from the audience interested in other videos (personal projects, singing lessons, vocal covers, etc) I preferred to keep those audiences separated. It's not been easy for me, since the new channel is growing slowier than the other, and it means double work for me, but I think that it's the better decision to make everyone happy! :)

Mori é mori. É una forza della natura. Ho avuto la fortuna di ascolarla dal vivo. Per ben due volte. Una volta in italia e una in grecia. Suona bene in ogni angolo della sua voce. Il suo timbro vocale é bello dalle note basse fino ad una certa altezza della quinta ottava del belting. Piu si va in alto e piu il timbro vocale perde presenza ,in lei no. Assurdo.
