The vocals you mentioned of Sabrina's that sounded disney were from when she was about 14 on disney. So that makes sense. I have always loved her voice and the different things she can do with it. One of my favorite artists for sure. This was a good video.

the problem with underrated artists like Sabrina is that they're always compared to other bigger artists and that sucks. Sabrina's voice is and it was said by many many big vocal coaches and professionals that her voice is very unique and different and her control is crazy. let's stop associating her voice to ariana camila or whoever the fuck that was so annoying to watch
Ikrr Idk why her voice is compared so much though. Sure she ofcourse is influenced by other artists but her voice is completely different. If I hear her voice in a crowd of all these singers they compare her to, I can immediately tell it's hers. I think it's because they haven't heard enough of her voice... so maybe that's why they can't tell apart yet. But true her voice is really unique. (The most strangest has to be Billie cause Billie is literally younger than Sabrina and became famous much later than Sabrina.)

I like both. I’ve been a Sabrina fan for awhile and honestly she has very beautiful vocals and such a wide vocal range so I hope this video shows that. I also like Olivia’s too I think it’s very pretty and you can really feel the emotions when she sings.
Sameee and I thought they have very different styles. Sabrina has more of a sweet but with a touch of powerhouse vocals while Olivia has more of a sweet and emotional vocals.
I think this vocal coach is simply not very familiar with Sabrina Carpenter as a vocalist. Then she’d realize Sabrina’s unique voice and technique. You should listen to more live Sabrina!

Tbh, Olivia's C#5 was much less tense than Sabrina's so that point was justified. But I think the A4 should have gone to Sabrina... she wasn't sharp at all.
Sabrina has an incredible range but she does occasionally struggle with her mixed belts. She is still young and has definitely improved on her new album.
That isn't true AT ALL. In fact, that actually makes Olivia a better artist because she has her own unique sound and vocal style while Sabrina is heavily influenced by other singers to the extent that it seems as if she is imitating them. She is the superior vocalist but not for these reasons.
Many of the people they compare Sabrina with weren't even in the music industry when she was. Like take Billie for example. She is younger than Sabrina and came much later in the industry. But it would make most butt hurt if we rightfully say that Billie sounds like Sabrina. It's only because Sabrina was not mainstream so people weren't that familiar with her voice. But I think it's starting to change now.
Hate it when someone comparing Sabrina with other artist like Tori Kelly, Camilla Cabello, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande... She has her own voice and can sing every style and i would say every song Though it was a good video i liked it
This is focusing on vocal abilities, but no matter what, I'm sick of the media pitting these two against each other & oftentimes milking it for views/likes/public engagement. Many times when they are brought up together, there are undertones of a competition between them where the public wants to have one girl come up on top of the other & this mostly stems from the media portraying these girls as having to compete for some guy's attention/affection. Their worth is far more than that. I'm sick of it, I hope that at least for awhile, people avoid pitting one against the other in any public/media setting, especially knowing that there are implications that goes beyond an attention-grabbing headline/increase in views, etc. People are quick to jump on it and they can get so critical. I hope the media can try to NOT carry it over to 2022 to give them space to ease away from this set up please ❤🙏
The worst part about this comparison is that at first, most of Sabrina's ones were from the Elle show where artists don't really try to sing AS perfectly as they usually would since it's a game to just get the word in the song u are singing. Whereas Olvia's ones were mostly from actual performances. So like this makes the comparison a bit unfair. And so like most of the comparisons were like performance (where singers give it all) against normal fun singing (where u don't reveal most of your talent usually). it would be fairer if u either compare their actual performances or music videos

sabrina’s has a very unique voice in my opinion. it’s very smooth and angelic. i also love her lower register. she’s a powerhouse. i believe she’s said she has 4-5 octave range. just goes to show that she’s amazing and really works hard at improving herself.
@@XMilesX123 she does actually. these clips didn't show her whole range. she has the same vocal coach as ariana grande, john legend, + more and he even said that sabrina has 4 octaves, maybe 5 and that she could potentially access the whistle register with training

For me, Olivia and Sabrina have very different voices, right? Olivia is like a dark, smooth and glossy wood panel, and Sabrina is like golden sparkling champagne. Both very beautiful, though Olivia took me a while to get into, but currently i love both.

i love both, i really love olivia's tone bc her voice is so unique, and for sabrina I love her control with her headtone. they both have strengths and weaknesses with their voices but they're still so young. even ariana grande herself had a lot of improvement over the years of her career
Both women are talented songwriters, but Sabrina has better vocal control, which helps her live performances. Olivia has a pretty voice, but her breathy singing often holds her back, especially live. With some coaching, she can strengthen her breath support and vocal control, and reach higher notes with ease. She doesn’t have the breath support to get through a full song onstage when she’s dancing or moving around. For Olivia, the raw talent is definitely there, but just needs refining. I’m excited to watch both of their careers and I really enjoy their music.
Olivia may have many influences in her music but i think the way she sings seems her own because she only have little influences in that. I think one is lorde and theater type singing.
Just an observation, Sabrina certainly has influences and they are all great, but she doesn't try to sound like anyone else, she just uses vocal elements that many talented artists use, but her timbre is very different and if you follow her work you will see which is really her thing, and despite that, she always has her identity, this is very noticeable in the cover she did of Taylor's song, it was totally her personal style, while Olivia, in addition to having a different timbre, doesn't makes super pop songs and doesn't use as many diverse vocal elements, so that's why it seems more "original". But this is not a hate coment, just a information 😂
Exactlyy. Like I get so confused when people are like "she sounds like her and her". Yeah? Like what? A good singer? Like are new singers supposed modify their voices and just lose the ability to sing good to be "unique". Next thing they'll be calling someone sounding like a chipmunk "unique".
Olivia's voice has improved so much since Sour. She is killing it. Literally sounds just like in the studio. Very talented young lady. You should review her vocals on that AMEX concert she posted on her channel. You'll see a major difference. ❤ 😊
i definitely agreed with you on most of them however, i feel like the video consists of a lot of older clips of olivia, making it harder to fairly judge acknowledging the fact that she has most definitely grown as a singer.
Fair but there were also many old clips of Sabrina as well. Just in general I think the videos going note by note are unfair due to the difference of mic or recording and even song that allows a person to do more with the note than the other.
@@masonguthrie1257 that’s fair but also, Sabrina is 4 years older than Liv so it makes sense to use older clips when they were of a similar age. Womens voices develop and get fuller as they age so using Sabrina’s current low voice against Olivia’s doesn’t make sense.
Even though Olivia can sing too, she's more of a writer. Olivia herself even said that one day she's gonna retire from singing and just become a songwriter.
Both are talented, I think the big difference is that Sabrina has more technique and vocal range in both the low and high main head voice, while Olivia has a beautiful timbre but doesn't have as much versatility in terms of vocal ability, but I think that She's just starting out, Sabrina is more experienced, which just shows how unfair she is, she deserved much more recognition... but anyway, they both have beautiful voices, but preference will depend on each person's personal taste.

I love them both and I think Olivia is actually the better singer (despite probably being a bigger fan of Sabrina’s music), however the cursive singing from Olivia as well as excessive cry on the spoken word sections of pretty much all of her songs becomes irritating if you listen to too many songs of hers in a row, however I cannot stop listening to Sabrina’s entire discography on a loop because she has so much more dimension and versatility as a singer AND as a performer! Sabrina needs to work on her vibrato (personal opinion as a singer myself) and Olivia needs to work on low notes and variety in her vocals. So both have their strengths and their weaknesses.

As a comparison, this seems a bit on the apples-to-oranges side, i.e., meaningless because the picking of compared songs seems arbitrary. You should have reviewed them singing the same songs but of course that was not possible.. At least you had something to do during the holidays. I think both are fairly good vocalists. We've seen more from Sabrina, I'd say she's who I'd prefer to listen too. Both are still extremely young and still experimenting, both have bright futures. It's a shame they've been pitted against each other, a shame that Olivia might be stumped by her immaturity and bitterness but I can only hope she grows to become a better person and artist, the potential is there but I, currently, cannot stand her. Sabrina, I've been a huge fan of her for years now. I feel terrible for the hate that she's received but she really showed how personable and sweet/kind her character is and I hope she continues to flourish, hope she's never attacked for things outside her control ever again. Sab, honestly, seems older than her age. You can tell she's been taught well, she's very empathetic and positive. Her stans are such beautiful people too. Anyway, be a fan of whoever but remember that everyone is only human. Sabrina is quite open about how much she looks up to certain artists, there is a mix in there where you can tell she's learnt from different people and applied it to her own artistry. But she's really come into herself, you can tell she's one of those singers who likes to play around. Her new album, I think it's coming next year, should show more of her growth. Those clips where you commented on how young she sounds, she was like 14 there and so, yes, she would've been advised to sound higher and sweeter for Disney but she was also underdeveloped, she was a child. You can look back at her old covers on RU-vid from when she was 9, she's been training from a young age and it shows.
